Great Item !
Crazy, but it works great. Oh my gosh.... this is so simple to use. And, it came with 4 replacement blades. I have had this since Dec 2016. It is now the end of March 2017. I still love this peeler. It has always been hand washed just to be careful. But somehow pin and the spring came apart from the arm that the blade is connected to. I just found the pin and spring sitting on the shelf next to the base of the peeler. I have tried and tried but I can't get it back together. I would need three hands. I noticed there is a small pc of plastic missing where the pin was inserted. Like a small gouge or groove. It looks like it left just enough room for the pin to slip sideways and fall out. If the piece of plastic had always been missing, the pin may have just needed the right moment to follow the groove and pop/slip out. I think it may have just been a defect in a part of the plastic arm. I still love the peeler, but if you order one, check it out - all over - first thing. At the base of the arms and where ever there are moving or connecting parts. If there is a flaw, you can report it as soon as possible.

Handle gently and it will work well
After receiving this item I can see what past reviews were talking about. The potato peeler worked well right out of the box. Because it is mostly plastic and has some delicate parts ...if not treated very gently it will not stand the test of time. It would be nice if some company would take this unique concept and make this peeler with more metal parts in the critical areas for better durability.. a heavier base or ergonomically placed handle to keep the unit from bouncing around while using it would be a great benefit. I think future customers would be willing to pay a bit more for more metal parts if the outcome would be improved durability/ longevity.

Great for processing a bunch of fruit or veggies!
I got this when I suddenly had a ton of pears come ripe on my tree and needed to can them. I tried a different brand first and sent it back as it just mashed the pears to bits. The Rotato worked great once I got the feel for it and I peeled and processed those pears in record time! The only thing I might complain about was that, periodically, bits of wet peel get stuck in the blade mechanism and suddenly it stops peeling and you have to take it apart and clean out the clog. That was rather annoying. I also used it to peel lemons when making marmalade and it zested the lemons in a looooong and lovely strip without any hassle at all. It was fabulous for this purpose. I found it a very worthwhile purchase and would recommend it for anyone who wants to peel a bunch of fruits or vegetables at a time or who frequently peels things for eating or cooking.

Good price and works great but not durable enough for daily or weekly use.
I used the peeler to peel lemons (the peel is used in making old fashion lemon-aid). The peeler worked great but one of the two plastic spikes on the bottom of the machine, which holds the lemon while spinning it, broke off. If the spikes were made of metal or if there were three spikes instead of two, to minimize the load on each spike, I imagine that the machine would not have broken in that way. If you only plan to use the machine a few times a year it should meet your expectations, but if you use it a couple of times a week it may not be durable enough to meet your needs.

Love this product.
I cut the ends off my potatoes, insert in machine and turn crank. This machine spiral peels the peel off. Easy to use and clean. I have trouble peeling anything due to lack of feeling in my hands, this product works for me. Also underneath is 2 separate compartments that house 2 extra blades in each one. Blade is very sharp. Here is how I use my peeler, I use it on a regular countertop. I insert item to be peeled and with one hand hold down peeler and with other hand turn the crank. Works for me.

So, we peeled our first 5 potatoes and it was quick and easy! However, the product itself doesn't feel sturdy, like turning the handle could break if too much pressure is put on it. Adjusting the blades height isn't as smooth as I thought and you have to hold it down as you spin it. Maybe if they could add suction cups to the bottom ? That would help tremendously. I give this product 4 stars simply because of those reasons above. Skinning the potatoes was easy, and this product does exactly what it says. I would recommend this to a friend, but I would probably tweak it with the suction cups on my own, if they don't make that change.

I like it!
It works! You have squeeze points to move the top holding spike up or down to fit the potato as well as to move the lower arm with the peeling blade to the top of the potato. With the lucky spud impaled at top and bottom you simply turn the handle. It doesn't get all the peel. No potato is perfect. You actually get U-shaped cuts and no peeling of the top and bottom ends, but it's good enough to leave there or quick to trim. Actually, it's fun to use! I believe it would do a better job with a more shallow "U" curve on the blade. A heavier base would be nice so you wouldn't have to hold the base down with one hand.

Handy Peeler
Peeling apples and potatoes is great as long as the crank turns is turned at a slow pace. The blade can dislodge turning to fast and not allowing the peel to remove. An individual can get the hang of it with practice, There suggestions for the operation and good ones I might add, I am happy for the purchase.

It works on beets!
I eat a lot of beets. I peel about 16 beets a week. It was taking me 30 minutes to peel beets with a traditional hand-held peeler and my hands get so sore. I saw a youtube video where a guy used a Rotato to peel beets, and at this reasonable price, I figured it was worth a shot. I tried it right away, and it works! It cut my beet prep time from 30 minutes to 10 minutes, and my hands feel so much better. Everything is detachable, so it's easy to clean. I highly recommend this for folks who eat a lot of potatoes and/or beets!

Took minutes to peel vegetables that used to take much longer!
It used to take me between 15 to 20 minutes to peel 5 pounds of potatoes. Now it literally takes maybe five minutes. Once I figured out how to position the potato and the top piece it was like magic! The only downside is that it does not peel the very top or the very bottom of the vegetable but that was a quick snip off each end and I was done. I would definitely gift this as it comes with replacement blades so you probably will never need to buy another one. The price is definitely on point!

Excellent Product
I had one of these manual Rotato peelers for Many years and used it about 2 or 3x a week. It wd still be working great if something hadn't dropped on it and broke it. Was very happy to find that you're still selling them. Been using the new one now for a couple of weeks and very pleased with it. It's also very handy for peeling a large amount of spuds for canning. Easy to use. Love it.

This is my second one or I thought it was the same!
Bought it in October when the first one i ordered quit working. This one was more expensive and i assumed it was electric.( my fault) I just opened it and its manual and doesn't work on potatoes. Can't express my disappointment.
