Solid Option for a Peeler

Better than my old peeler, this one works quickly and effectively slicing a thin layer off the top. I've primarily used on carrots and potatoes with no problems so far. My old one would turn and contort and make it difficult to peel quickly and so far this one has not presented the same problem. I've used the tool at the top a few times on potatoes and it is ok, nothing remarkable. I clean this by hand and for the most part not a problem either.

not happy. i ordered this same peeler a couple of months ago. liked it so much i ordered 2 more for Christmas gifts. they are different than what is shown and what I previously received. these had larger handles which are harder to hold and manipulate in my opinion. the older one had the black bands shown at the top and bottom, the new ones were just stainless steel.

limited cutting area

The peeler peels well enough when it makes contact with a potato but the design of the peeler limits its use to mostly small and mid size potatoes. The blade is secured to the handle on both ends of the blade limiting the cutting area which results in more time spent peeling. I do not care for this product.

Good, not great

Serviceable peeler, but not up to the standard of my previous German-made peeler. Since these things usually last a lifetime unless you misplace it, as I did, spend the extra money and buy the best you can afford.

One of the Best Potato and Vegetable Peelers Money Can Buy

I purchased this "Potato Peeler" when I came across it on Amazon, because I was sick and tired of the cheap vegetable peelers that were for sale in my local grocery store (with no other alternatives.) It is definitely one of the best peelers your money can buy. The blade is sharp and is held in place by two stainless steel prongs on each side, which gives the blade greater stability than the old style vegetable peelers :Made In China" quality (or lack thereof.) I give it Five Stars * * * * * All The Way!

Another Quality Norpro Product

When I need a kitchen essential I usually go with Norpro, they are cheaper than Zyliss, feel better in the hand, lack the annoying rubberization of Oxo. They also offer a comprehensive set of tools so it is easy to have a sort of matching set, which satisfies a certain OCD in me. This peeler is a great example, it is sturdy, sharp, cheap, and works well. If you need a peeler better than you can buy at the grocery store, and don't want to shell out for a ceramic, this is a great option.

It doesn't work any better than the peelers from the dollar store but was much more expensive. I'm baffled by the positive reviews. Perhaps those reviewers should try the dollar store variety for comparison. I loved my Pampered Chef peeler until, after many years, it broke. I was very disappointed with the Norpro. The round handle is no better, either. SKIP THIS ONE!!!
