Just wish it had a clip for a carabineer

Love the idea of this and I do use it successfully. I just wish it had a hook for a caribeener. I feel like it would be easy for a big dog to pull hard enough to tear the strap.

3 Years and still Amazing

Have used nearly daily for 3 years. My 60 lb dog has previously bolted and either ripped the leash out of my hand or I've held on and had my entire skeleton rattled. With this belt I never lose the leash no matter how excited he gets. And it sits comfortably around my hips so I also don't get injured. And I'm hands free to deal with him and the loose dogs we encounter. So much safer! Also use a ring and caribiner to quickly attach and unattach my other less excitable dog (e.g., attach her to easily pick up the poo or deal with a loose dog situation). Use regular 6 foot leashes, flexi leads and all work great. This belt really holds up to years of abuse. Thanks for an excellent product!

Does what is says.

There is an element of danger when you are strapping a dog to your body. You could consider me a risk taker because I strap two dogs to my body. My dogs, God love them, have a deep and insidious hatred for squirrels and cats. This morning I was not on my a game. I was cold and tired and not paying attention to the woodland creatures of my neighborhood. However my dogs, that I lovingly refer to as Beavis and Butthead, were paying very close attention. Now my dogs are both husky pitbull mixes and when they decide to move they move. I would say that this leash belt not only impressed me this morning but also saved the life of a squirrel. It took the force of two formidable creatures and did not break. However my back is a different issue not the leash’s problem.

Great for hands-free walking

I use this belt to walk my reactive dog for the extra stability. It's much easier to brace against her pulling and lunging with this belt than with a lead in your hand. It also frees up both hands for treats for training which is really useful when trying to keep my dog focused on me instead of triggers. The belt isn't padded so it may begin to hurt your hips a bit if you have a constant puller.

Great product IF USED CORRECTLY

This waist leash belt is fantastic! I'm always checking out new gear as a professional trainer. When I walk my small and big dog together, my small dog is on a waist leash. The one in was using before was a bit too large for him. I switched to a regular small dog leash on this belt and it's now my favorite thing ever. The waist leash I was using before would need to be readjusted slightly as I often ask my dogs to switch from one side to the other. This belt let's the leash travel a bit resulting in less manual adjustments. Its thick enough to be comfortable with a much larger dog (my little is 20lbs) and I love that I can add more leashes for group adventures or a different leash depending on who's dog I'm working with. The only thing I would drastically change is the unfortunate marketing of this leash encouraging owners to use their phones while out with their dogs ????‍♀️ this is a very bad idea, especially if you're in a populated area or your dog has any behavior difficulties! I loathe seeing owners on their phones, at best you totally disconnect from your dog and at worst you can create a dangerous situation for more than just you and your pooch! Also, not a great idea to attach a retractable leash, let's go ahead and put that one in the trash real quick... ok, that's better. Imagine the illustrious squirrel nemesis crossing your path as you stare at your phone (you're shopping on amazon, of course) you dont see it. Your dog sees it. Your dog starts running and now has 15 feet before hitting the end of the leash clothes lining himself and putting immense pressure on your lower lumbar or sacrum...OUCH!

Beyond expectations

I have two large dogs that are pullers and they always beat my wrist and shoulders up. With this I am able to only hold the leash to bring them closer and know they are firmly close to me. Also makes picking up poo so much easier! I love this and will get another as soon as this one wears out!

Very durable and I love that it has the extra strap on the outside for the leash so it’s not moving around on the actual belt and rubbing against your waist. I’ve used this for many walks and hikes and it feels very secure and allows me peace of mind while being hands free!
