Good tool
Overall a very good tool, but they should use a sturdier metal. The aluminum tines bend too easily.

Purchased again
My last one lasted 5 years. The handles eventually break at the pivot. I'm 6 feet tall, so I wish the handles were a bit longer, to avoid bending over.

Sun wont damage it!
I liked it cause it’s not made from plastic.

As a pro, I know, this is the best!
I have been pooper-scooping for multiple dogs for more almost 25 years. I'd say that makes me a pro pooper scooper. I have tried several different types of pooper scoopers. i started with a pooper scooper (in the old days) just like this one, but I didn't get it from Amazon or from this company. I used that one even after it fell apart (I love the angle of the pan and rake). I still have pieces of that first tried-and-true scooper. I'd say it lasted in it's complete state for about ten years (I wasn't really counting). In between that first scooper and my new one (the Spotty Metal Tray with Rake), I've tried several of the new pooper-scooping gadgets. Meh -- they were only okay at picking up the doo. Most of the time, they were more of a pain to deal with and were soon abandoned in search of the perfect pooper scooper. I decided to go back to my original style of scooper and rake (the Spotty Metal Tray with Rake). Today, as I scooped, I thought -- "Nothing is better than this old reliable rake and pan combo." That's why I rushed in after my scooping chore an felt compelled to write. For all you searching for the perfect pooper-scooper, trying all the new-fangled gizmos, I'm here to declare -- this old method is still the easiest and most efficient way to handle the job. This Spotty Metal Tray with Rake (I do believe I'd get a catchier, snappier name) works like a charm. For me, it's easy to use. It's also sturdy and well-made. I hope that I will remember this and not go back to searching for the latest, supposedly greatest way to nab my darlings' noisome nuggets. As for me and my house -- this pooper scooper style is still the best!

Have to bend it.
For smaller dogs bend the outer part of the guard. It’ll then close all the way. Only other negative I left it sitting out. The rain will warp it. That’s my bad but….

Great tool
I tried a different style of pooper scooper that I hated. In the past I had one similar to this and it worked well. Easy pick up of poop in grass and easy disposal. I recommend this one.

Nice product. Wanted to buy a 2nd one but not available.
I've had a variety of those pooper scoopers with the spring-loaded handle. They are garbage. They usually work great for a few weeks then either the spring or something else breaks. Also, if the poop is embedded in ice or other hard surface they just don't have the power to scoop the poop up. The simple scissors scoop with one side being a rake is best. And this particular one is larger and a little sturdier than the ones I've had before. I went to buy a second one to use at the dog park (ignorant people who either don't watch their dogs or are just inconsiderate leave piles of dog poop and if you want a clean place somebody has to pick it up so it might as well be me). I recommend it. But it says currently unavailable today 2/24/2021.

Great product but check that wooden handles are what you want before ordering
I have used a similar scooper before, and in my opinion this is the best & easiest way of collecting & disposing of dog poop from my garden. Regrettably I was disappointed to find that when delivery was made, that the handles are actually wooden, only the "grabber" parts are metal. I submit that the description Spotty Metal Scissor Scooper is misleading. I have nevertheless kept the product as it works fine, but hollow metal handles would have been more robust.

Works well, durable, should last a life time
After buying some plastic scoops, most of them had issues after 5-6 months. This is such a simple design, made with solid metal (i believe its aluminum) the wood handles should be fine being left outside for several years, and then they'll be easy enough to replace with aluminum too. I would of liked the handles to be about 5 inches longer, as I do have to bend slightly when using it (5'10") The design could be improved by replacing the wood with aluminum, not sure why that wasn't chosen in the first place - it would be lighter then as well. I can just about manage using this with 1 hand if need be. Can manage to pick up 2, sometimes 3 poops in 1 go. The poop certainly gets stuck to the blades a lot more than a traditional scoop style, but it works.

Treat your self! Picking up turds by hand is for peasants
Love it, my only criticism is that it would be improved by slightly longer handles (I'm short and still feel like I'm stopping over a little touch while using it) and that the metal is a little bit on the flimsy side - mind you I've only bent it using it a very messy area of the yard, if you have a nice lawn I think it would be less likely to bend. Even with the bending it has remained quite functional. I won't be going back to picking up by hand that's for sure.
