So much easier to use than a manual one taking only one hand to operate it..
I loved the look of this pepper, spice, or herb grinder... And loved the way it would still fit into the top rack of my spice and herb rack... I bought a total of six of these, for spices, I am having trouble obtaining in a crushed state. I found the first two grinders locally, looking to replace my worn out pepper mill, and to hopefully crush milk thistle seeds I purchased in bulk to sprinkle on my dogs homemade food.. But it did not work well on the milk thistle seeds, so I had to abandon that idea... And then when I could not find more of the same grinders locally, I looked to Amazon to help me out.. And they had them. I wanted them to match, being my spice rack is exposed in my kitchen. I was having trouble with finding crushed rosemary or spices and herbs in general since this pandemic.. And I hated having the larger stemy pieces of Rosemary, Fennel, and Thyme in my dishes, and these are tough to smash in a mortar & pestle, or chop these without them flying all over the place. I also had a seafood seasoning blend that I use a lot, and wanted to have it in an electric grinder as well, for one hand operation, and the quicker grinding of this blend. I also had started to use black cumin seeds for it's health benefits, and wanted them in a grinder as well. And this grinder work well for them.. I love the fact that my herbs, and spices are in my dishes now, and you don't get shocked by a chunk, stem, or seed of flavor.. I also believe, it is releasing more flavor into my dishes being freshly ground.. And everything seems to come out at a good rate... The filling is not bad with a plastic funnel, you just have to shake the base of the grinder a bit to get the most product in them... I love everything about these grinders.. Except I have had to push the batteries back into place a couple of times, when they are not functioning.. There is a plastic band that wraps around the outside of the batteries to hold them in place, but for some reason it doesn't hold them well enough... I think the battery compartment should have been a snugger fit for the batteries... And done away with the plastic band... Possibly a little heavy rubber band like comes on the watercress or other veggies might work better for awhile, than the open plastic rings.. I would say the designer needs to fix this issue, and send out the fix to the owners of these grinders.. The only thing I wish I had done differently. Was maybe have waited until I found ones I liked that were rechargeable. The only draw back I saw to the rechargeable ones, was if they ran out of juice when you were using them, making you have to wait to recharge before you could deploy the contents again. That was why I purchased the second batch of the same grinders.. But with the battery compartment issue with these.. It has made me rethink my choice.. I loved the clean look also, and was why I went ahead with this purchase . Even with it's occasional battery issue, I would still recommend these, for people who really enjoy cooking...

Needs improvement
I needed a grinder to use for various spices in my kitchen. I liked the look of this grinder and I ordered it. Overall, it is a decent grinder. I like that it is stainless steel so the outside isneasy to clean. I also like that it is narrow so it doesn't take up a lot of cabinet space. There are several issues with it though. The small opening for spices does not lend itself to easy filling, and effectively makes cleaning impossible. Cleaning is also rendered impossible by the grinding part itself not being exposed, so this grinder is essentially locked to a single spice for its entire life. And it's life may not be all that long because the small, plastic, clip used to keep the batteries from falling out seems like a break waiting to happen. Likewise, the way that the top and bottom parts go together with a snap dependent upon the elasticity of hard plastic (which is, at least, a great deal more solid than the battery clip) doesn’t seem like it will last long. There’s no way to configure how fine the grind is. There is a light on the bottom to help you see what you have ground but it is fairly dim and not quite white, meaning it’s too low contrast for black pepper or salt. There’s also no way to turn the light off. Overall, the grind does grind pepper (and presumably salt, but see the above bit on cleaning) as advertised, but has some pretty major flaws such that I’m sure there’s better electric grinders out there.

Gimmicky, but works....
The media could not be loaded. This little grinder is for your dinner table. Fill it with chunk salt or unground pepper and it will do an effective job of grinding and dispensing it for you. The grinder runs on 4 AA batteries. There's a motor on top which drives a shaft running to the ceramic grinding element on the bottom. It runs slowly with a fair bit of torque, making it effective as a grinder. There's also a little LED light underneath, I suppose in order to light up the food you're dispensing the salt or pepper on. Both the light and the motor turn on at the push of a rubber button on the top of the unit. Hold the button to keep the power on... The grinder's made of plastic. The aluminum or stainless sections are nice, but the frame is light plastic, including the see-through section in the center. If you want an electric grinder, this one will probably fit your needs. If you can only use one hand to dispense salt or pepper, and you want yours fresh ground, this will do the job for you. It's not for me, though.

Keep looking
The pepper is super slow to grind. When these get knocked over the batteries come loos so you have to open and reseat the batteries.

Might be useful to some
This whole thing seems like a bit of overkill just to grind some pepper or salt, or whatever you end up using in it the first time. There's really no way to take the grinding area apart for cleaning, so you'll either have slightly mixed spices or you'll just use it for one thing forever. In terms of overkill, it's quite large for what it does in terms of how much spice it can hold. I suppose because they need 4 AA batteries in order to provide grinding power. Also, the LED light seems like an unnecessary gimmick unless you're only dispensing your pepper in a dimly lit room designed for a romantic dinner. I'd much rather just use a manual grinder rather than going through the hassle of setting this thing up so a tiny motor can do it for me. HOWEVER, I could see where some folks might need a power grinder due to some sort of hand or nerve issue where using a manual grinder wouldn't be possible. So, if that's the case, then this unit might be useful. I haven't had it long enough to address longevity. A lot of parts are plastic, but if you handle it carefully, it would probably hold up well enough.
