I tried another brand of electric pepper mill - which required six AAA batteries that were difficult to install and died after literally five uses - before noticing that most of the electric pepper mills on the market have a significant number of "cheaply made piece of junk" reviews. Then I found this one, and noticed the universally five-star reviews. It is definitely more expensive than the others, but it...actually works. Selecting varying degrees of coarseness for the ground pepper actually yields varying degrees of coarseness. The USB charging eliminates the need for batteries, and makes this mill less expensive in the long run. it's also quite beautiful, and feels very well made. And I've had the pleasure of using it waaaaay more than five times. The old saw about "you get what you pay for" seems to apply if you're in the market for a (wrist-saving) electric pepper mill!

Great grinder. Well made and very powerful.
I settled on this after several broken and inadequate electric grinders, and have been quite satisfied with it. Looks great, very effective and powerful compared to non lithium ion battery powered grinders. It’s easily adjustable and refillable with a large reservoir. My only complaint is that it’s a little large, and a little heavy, but some may find that appealing. Also a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. Overall a great pepper grinder.

A luxury that's worth it
As long as this thing stands the test of time...it's amazing. Rechargeable, and customizable grind settings...it's just so niiiiice. Feels heavy in the hand - nice and solid. Not too loud when it works to grind your peppercorns either. I love mine (: it would be a great gift too!

Finally, a quality electric mill.
I cook at home every day and have tried out a few electric pepper mills, they are invariably trash. They are typically difficult to adjust, the grinding mechanism wears down as well as often gets jammed (ever shake one this way and that, retrying to grind to get *some* pepper), motors are weak, they need a ton of batteries, come apart way too easily, and have a clear window for the pepper which ages it quicker. I get the impression "serious" chefs have never taken electric grinders seriously, so there's never been incentive to make one. Peugeot has finally applied their level of quality to electric grinders. I love everything about it. One handed operation is a cinch. Changing to different grind sizes is not only easy, but repeatable given the numbered markings and can be done from the exterior rather than reaching up underneath as is most common with other mills. I've had it for about 6 months and it continue to produce a large quantity of ground pepper consistently. The battery for me cooking once a day has lasted for about 3 months between recharging which is done via a micro-usb plug. The grinder is also very durable as well as of course having the excellent classic Peugeot styling. It'd be nice to have a smaller version, but the quality is well worth the size and price. It costs more initially, but doesn't need new batteries and doesn't need to be replaced every 6 months to a year.

Expensive, and worth every darned penny
We recently watched a Wolfgang Puck cooking show, and grew to appreciate the electric pepper mill he used. That set us off on a search for one of our own... and I ended up here. I'm so glad I did. We've gone through several pepper mills over the past 40 years. Somewhere in there -- 25 years ago? something like that -- we bought a small Peugeot salt-and-pepper set. It's well-worn, in the loved-and-used way, but the pepper grinder has never once hiccuped. It doesn't hold that much, but we love it. Even though we've bought several more pepper grinders over the years, they aren't the same quality. For instance, we have a beautiful handmade unit that cannot be adjusted, so it's useful only if I want a rough grind. Another very pretty grinder fell apart in my hands after four or five years. So heck, I figured, I might as well buy the best quality. I am so glad I did. It charges with a USB connection; I haven't needed to recharge it in the several weeks we've owned the pepper mill. It's super-easy to adjust the grind, even when your hands are goopy from cooking. It holds a lot, so it doesn't need to be filled often (though it was easy enough to do so). It does its grinding magic with the gentlest of touches... and honestly it is so much fun that I've been intentionally choosing things to cook that need a lot of pepper. This is superb. And I know it'll last a lifetime.

Sehr schön verarbeitete Mühle mit bewährten Peugeot Mahlwerk. Aufladbaren Akkumulator mit im Lieferumfang enthalten USB AC power Adapter. Schönes gedrechseltes Holzfinish. Das Metall Schräubchen ganz oben ist mit schwarzem Aufdruck um es von der bzgleichen Salzmühle mit weißem Aufdruck zu unterscheiden.
