Not good for laptop table
I wanted to try these to use on my laptop table because the casters are too high to fit under the chair I sit in. It did work in that regard. The problem I found is that they only slide well in one direction. I could slide the table fine in the direction of the long side of these but not sideways. Trying to turn the table or slide it sideways felt like there was danger of the table tipping over. Also, the adhesive did not hold up and they had started to come loose, so I went back to the casters.

Worked well on travertine tile
easy to install with the supplied adhesive and screw. I installed them with adhesive then drilled the hole, and then screwed them on. cost effective and do the job for use with wooden dining room chairs on travertine tile

Better than casters
I have a mobile laptop desk with the cheapest casters ever. Casters locked every time you moved the desk an inch. Ripped the locks off and shortly after the casters broke one at a time. No universal casters fit. Looked at purchasing a new desk and all had the same casters. Purchased these to replace the casters and the desk glides around the house on carpet and hardwood better than the wheels ever worked.

on a 1 1/2 inch chair leg if I use the 2 1/8 inch glide or 2 3/4 " round glide would it slide easier
Thinking about long-ago high school physics it seemed like if you spread the downward force over a larger surface a larger glide should make the chair slide easier. My wife is handicapped and has trouble with pulling her chair up close to the dinner table on a rug. I tested my theory by trying out both the 1 3/8" and 2 1/8" glides. The 2 1/8" glide was much easier (but it does look a little strange). The next test will be trying the 2 3/4" round glides I ordered today. UPDATE: I tried the round 2 3/4" glides and they are the smoothest gliding on a smaller chair leg.

Best design of furniture glides
This is the best design for furniture glides. I have these on chairs, tables, and coffee tables, etc. The teflon slide is secured by a screw and gives a strong, positive attachment to the furniture. Other designs rely solely on adhesive or a single nail like spike. Each can pop off easily. I don't even look at anything else for a furniture glide. I have ordered these 6 times for different applications and please with the results each time.

These Sliders Are Nice
I made a foot stool recently and wanted to put some glides on it. I was originally looking at small, round ones when I came across these. The legs on my stool are square at about 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". The shape and size of these glides couldn't be much more perfect. The adhesive worked well to place them and hold them while screwing them on with the screws. I wouldn't rely on just the adhesive to hold them on. Definitely use the provided screws.

Slider with screw hardware
I used this product on an old heavy trunk.. I didnt use the adhesive. Im a 71 year young woman who was able to drill the 4 screws in all 4 sides of the bottom to attach these wonderful sliders...Walla.. Its so nice that the trunk just glides over my carpet now with not a lot of effort ...but still some muscle. I want to also mention that the trunk is full and still glides .. I recommend this if you have a piece of furniture with no legs..just a solid flat base .Very pleased

Worked very well but backing difficult to remove
These quite heavy, L-based dining room chairs,Giantex 2 Pcs Dining Chairs High Back Gray PU Leather Furniture Modern Seat New , came with button glides that would catch rather than glide on an 1/2" thick oriental carpet with pad. I used four glides per chair which allows them to glide easily when sitting down at the table or when they need to be moved for vacuuming. However, the die used to cut the adhesive pads and backing must be quite dull. The edges of the paper backing are squished very badly against the adhesive pad. I needed to start peeling off the paper backing by teasing a corner free with a #11 X-ACTO knife on over half of the glides. Otherwise the backing would pull up the adhesive with foam attached.

Highly recommended
Great little sliders, offer good protection to your floor and furniture. Makes it very easy to re position heavy tables. Are very robust and should give you years of service. Well designed, keep the screws well away from the floor, in our case stone which would not do well if ther was contact with metal screws. I used both the adhesive backing and the screws which were good quality and easy to install as they were quite sharp.
