GERMAN BITS, BITE THROUGH CONCRETE WITH A GOOD DRILL

So, I bought these bits after trying out a Chinese bit purchased from Lowes. The Chinese bit, as I should have expected, was plainly junk. These are the real deal with an excellent warranty from DeWalt. Unfortunately I put them initially in a cheap "Skil" hammer drill (which is now just a name, not the old Skil quality) and they continuously rotated out of the chuck. Returned the drill, tried my son in law's American manufactured drill. No problem. So, do not skimp on EITHER the drill or the bits if you are attempting to drill holes in concrete. It will just be an afternoon of cussing and frustration. And, I have found that if you need quality bits you must buy a brand name manufactured either in Germany or Taiwan.

Not professional quality!

With the first hole I hammer drilled into 5MPa concrete I knew this wasn't going to last long. Two holes later and the tip of the 3/16 bit burned off. The $7.00 3/16 bits I purchase from my rental center would produce 20 - 30 holes (IN BEDROCK) before their end! This purchase was a waste of time and $$.

Worthless Warranty

The 3/16 bit burned off after first use. The box reads NO BREAK GARANTEE. I called Dewalt in USA & they sent me a replacement bit but they sent the wrong one 3 times. Then I was told I needed to call the Canadian office because they didn’t have a 3/16 replacement bit in stock. The Canadian office told me that I needed to bring the bit & the receipt to the store. After doing that & waiting 3 months for a replacement I was told that the warranty will not cover the replacement because the bit is not broken, its burned,... semantics,... now I’m taking my business elsewhere,...

Highest quality tool!!!!

If they break, you're abusing them. Same as any tool. A poor quality tool will break right away if misused. A high end tool will take longer to fail. It will still fail if you abuse your tools. This is a high quality tool and I've never broken one in 20 years. Yes they get dull but that is much different than breakage.
