Easy and perfect for family
After reading reviews, I decided that I wanted a pot that I could cook in and eat out of to cut down on dishes and hassle. This pot is perfect. I cook the fondue in the pot on the stove and then transfer to the holder and chafing dish. Perfect for a family of 4 (or probably up to 10.) We have one for cheese and a second for chocolate and absolutely love them!

LOVE, Love my Cuisinart 13-Piece Cast Iron Fondue Set, Red
My husband and I are so pleased with the Fondue Set! Its a perfect size for us. Being able to mix all the ingredients in one place makes clean up so much quicker. My husband loves cheese, so I will be using this most weekends, especially during the cold, romantic months to come!!

Despite some quality control issues, I like this unit UPDATE: Purchased a second one
Before I purchased this set, I compared it to others that Amazon currently offers (and are eligible for Prime shipping). I quickly decided against an electric one for 2 reasons. (1) Short cords are a common complaint and I did not want to have to string an extension cord every time nor did I want to risk someone tripping over it and (2) it seems more versatile not to have to have electricity nearby - we can take this unit anywhere! When I looked at the different makes, models, and manufacturers, I immediately noticed a large variation in price - anywhere from $15 up to $133 - so this one was on the lower end of the mid-priced units even though it is cast iron. I cook a lot with cast iron and appreciate that it heats evenly, retains heat, and is sturdy. The enamel coating is a nice addition as it makes cleanup quicker and easier. The only pieces in this set that I find "light-weight" are the forks themselves (they are okay but not fantastic), and the snuffer piece (not a big deal). Every thing else is nice quality. The stand is heavy duty and does not rock (unlike some other manufacturers' according to reviews) and this is a big positive for me. In terms of quality control, I read through the reviews and was aware that a couple of people received damaged units (I believe one arrived with a bent stand and another with a chipped lid). Given that there were so few complaints, I placed my order and scheduled a "fondue night". Unfortunately, my unit arrived damaged, too. It has a healthy chip in the enamel near the edge of the lid. Since I couldn't change plans easily, I could not return the item for a refund so I'll live with the chip. Given the price I paid, I am still very happy with my purchase and am considering purchasing a second one so we can serve a meat fondue (the ones simmered in broth) along with the cheese for dinner. I am also looking at replacement crocks so we can have chocolate fondue for dessert without having to wait for the pot to cool down and washing it out before serving the last course. It will be nice if we can just swap out pots. This solid unit should last over time. If I have more issues with the enamel coating, I will definitely update this review. I also bought these: Sterno 2.6-Ounce Entertainment Cooking Fuel, 3-Pack at the same time for the heat source. UPDATE: i have already purchased a second one so we can have either a meat fondue/hot pot or chocolate fondue along with the cheese. This time, I ordered a white one:Cuisinart FP-115WS 13-Piece Cast Iron Fondue Set, White

Purchased two units - one red and one white
I originally purchased this pot but in red after researching fondue pots on this site, I had decided against an electric unit because there are a lot of complaints about short cords and I did not want to string an extension cord each time we have fondue (it's a hassle and a tripping hazard). Also, I like that we can take this type anywhere. This is the unit I bought first:Cuisinart FP-115RS 13-Piece Cast Iron Fondue Set, Red . Having used it several times, I came back to order another one so we can expand our meals by adding a meat fondue/hot pot or a chocolate fondue for dessert. We decided to go with the white one this time so it would be easier to differentiate between the types of fondue when sitting around the table. Unlike the red one which arrived with a chipped lid, this fondue pot arrived in perfect condition. The enamel coating is a little cattywampus but doesn't seem to have any negative effects on its functionality and the enamel makes this unit easy to clean. The fondue pots I researched ranged in cost from $15 to $133 so, like the red one, this one is priced on the low end of the mid-ranged units. Like all cast iron, the pot is heavy for its size, heats evenly and retains temperature. The dampening ring on the burner works well enough so you can keep broth piping hot or you can tamp down the heat so chocolate won't burn. The stand is heavy duty and balanced so we don't have to worry about the unit tipping over when 2 people are dipping at the same time. The Cuisinart Fondue pots also have a nice design feature that other crocks lack - the lid has an 8-pointed star cutout (there are 6 forks) so you can rest your fork in the fondue and it doesn't slide around or get in other people's way. We are definitely happy with both units even though quality control is a tad weak.

Well Made
This fondue pot is made really well. We have used it on numerous occasions. It comes with the stand, a burner with lid, skewers for 6, and an open cover to place your skewers in the pot. This size pot is perfect for 6 people.

well built fondue pot for those who want the traditional fondue experience.
This is probably the fondue pot for you, if you want the European feel of artisanal, traditional fondue. You cannot tell from the picture, but the red enameled pot is sturdy and lustrous. The stainless steel stand is well-built, although not quite traditional. The alcohol burner can be used with either methanol (wood alcohol) or Sterno. Thus far I've use it with methanol only, which I found easily at a hardware store. (I believe that Sterno is gelled methanol, preventing the possibility of spilling.) The burner itself is functional, but cheaply made. It appears to be stamped stainless steel; some burrs are present. About what you'd expect for a $36 fondue pot. However the pot, the forks, and the stand are all outstanding for $36 price tag. I've tried it for cheese fondue and chocolate fondue. The amount of heat from the burner is just right. (The heat coming from the burner can be adjusted slightly by rotating the handle to admit more or less air to the burning fuel.) If you want the convenience of an electric fondue pot, look elsewhere (and maybe just use a crock pot?). But if you want a fabulous fondue pot for your family, or perhaps a fondue party, this one is a winner.

Had to buy my own!
I first used my friends fondue pot like this. I loved it verses some of the electric ones I have used. Therefore, I had to buy my own. Even my family prefers this one.

Design and execution are really good.
There is a French one of these for $1K. This was $80 and will satisfy 19 times out of 20. Get ten of them and give every partier their own.

Beautiful!
Love the function of the kettle, love the weight and I love the fact that it keeps the heat because it’s all cast iron.

made a fondue for 6, it did the job like any cast iron pot. could be a bit bigger if you really love cheese.
