Great, cheap option for zigbee scene controller remote
I've gotten three of these now, mostly because they are the cheapest remote control device I've seen for home automation, especially with four buttons. I use mine with Home Assistant and a Nortek HUSBZB-1 acting as my hub. I've had no trouble with connectivity despite having few repeaters and a large, spread out home. Battery life so far has been merely ok; the first one I got for Christmas and had to replace the CR2032 battery in mid March. That isn't great, but is fine in my home (I ordered a forty pack of CR2032s for $10). In Home Automation, the light controller shows up by default as simple buttons, but only supports single press and the dim up/down events both fire when either button is pressed. Fortunately, the home automation community has already provided a Blueprint that gives better integration for this device (search for Noblewolf and Sengled) that properly supports all four buttons with short, long, and double press events. Update: I've seen the quick battery draining other people have reported on one of my remotes. It is linked to weak zigbee signals. In the Home Automation zigbee mesh map, I can see the original remote I got at full strength 255/255 connected directly to the zigbee hub; it is on a different floor of the house so that strength is impressive. The other two remotes are connecting through Sonoff S40 smart plugs, but despite being only 3 or 4 feet from those repeaters, signal strength is around 128/255 at best and sometimes drops. The battery depletion occurs when the signal strength is low, probably from the remote trying to connect more often. The big variation in signal strength is odd, and I'm not sure yet whether to blame the Sengled Remote or the Sonoff smart plugs. I knocked a star off the review though, as the remote shouldn't insta-kill the battery just because it can't connect.

Works but is a little flawed.
Smart lights are pretty hot right now, but nobody talks about how, like, your elderly parents will control the lights when they come over. You also can't exactly tell every guest to your house to just use their phone. And the weird thing about the various smart light ecosystems is that a lot of them don't even have the option for a switch/remote. Enter this thing. It's one of the few options out there. I mean, it works. It just has a lot of weird decisions that might eventually be rectified with software. Here's a list of them: CONS: The two dimming buttons are absolutely useless. They take so long to dim the lights. You can tap the button or hold it down, but it still takes forever even if you rapidly tap it like a madman. The app will not let you adjust how granular the button presses are. Honestly, I would probably prefer the dimming to be in like 20% chunks, but it literally seems that each button press increases it by a single percentage. I don't even bother using the dimming feature on the remote; I just use my phone. This design is bizarre and inexplicable. You also cannot reprogram any of the buttons with one exception. For example, want to program the dim button make the lights blue? Cycle colors? Can't do any of that. You also can't do any kind of slightly complex programming. I wanted to make it so that holding the off button would turn off all of the lights except one and to set that light at 1% brightness as kind of a nightlight mode. Can't do that. The two dimming buttons and the off button can only do what they say. What you CAN do is program the on and off buttons to do different things with a single click, a double click, or a click and hold. I have mine set up that a single click turns them on to daylight, a double click sets them to a warm yellow, and tapping and holding turns a couple extra lights in the living room for when I need a bunch of light. I at at least appreciate this ability. You can also do something similar with the off button, but it can only turns specific bulbs off. So, like, a double click could turn off half of your bulbs if you wanted, but nothing more complicated than that. You can't turn the bulbs off one by one or anything. The buttons on the remotes are also weirdly gummy, but they work, I guess. I also had a dead battery after like two weeks. Coincidentally, we had the power go out for a period of time, so I wondered if that somehow drained the battery? Did it waste its battery communicating with the mothership only to receive silence? Or the battery was maybe just low from sitting in a box in storage? I don't know, but this is a little concerning. PROS: Setup was easy. You take out the tab on the battery, the front flashes, and you use the app to pair it to your hub. If you miss the window to sync, you just hold the on and off buttons down until it flashes. Easy. I mean, the thing does works. It turns the lights on and off. That's literally all I wanted. I mounted it to my drywall in the living room (it provides the hardware to do so) so my parents or visiting kid niece can control the lights. It looks nice, it's a decora-style plate, but I'd prefer if the logo wasn't there. I do like that it functions as both a wall switch and remote. The magnet holds it securely in place. It's also been reliable. It's never not turned the lights on and off with the exception of the above dead battery. CONCLUSION: Honestly, I would give this thing a 3.5/5, but I will round it up to 4/5 since that isn't an option. It does what I bought it for, turns the lights on and off, but it seems like there is a lot of missed potential. If they ever update the app to add more functionality to this thing, I will try my best to remember to update the review.

Sengled Zigbee Wall Switch… good when not defective
Have had to send back several of these either because Amazon sent me a used defective one as new, they have shown up new but we’re defective (bad batteries or bad switch mechanism) or they were missing pieces in the box. Open, test and inspect these right away when receiving. Now, about the switch itself. When you get a good, new one, it works pretty well. It’s a great no-wire solution for pairing with Sengled Zigbee smart bulbs. I would get these more for the on-off function than the dimming function as dimming with these is kind of clunky, but I like that you can program a couple different on and off functions with the use of a single, double or long press. The bad? You CAN NOT engage scenes from the wall switch as the description implies. You can only control bulbs individually or in groups. You can also not control anything but bulbs - this will NOT control smart plugs for some reason. This is a pretty dumb omission on the part of Sengled’s engineers. Why can’t you assign an on-off toggle of a smart plug alongside the bulbs? Overall, in the wide pantheon of DIY smart products, Sengled Zigbee stuff seems to be the most reliable, but it’s absolutely NOT the smartest. It can be downright dumb and frustrating at times (why can’t we access scenes in Google Home??). The wall switch has a pretty decent limited function that other product ecosystems don’t have, but the quality inspection of them is seriously lacking.

Great product at a great price, will definitely be buying more
I've bought a couple of these now, I use them all with home assistant, they work great and respond nearly instantly, but they seem to show as unavailable sometimes until they are trigged. I did have one that arrived with some battery corrosion but after cleaning it up, it's been working fine, but it is something to watch out for since the batteries are shipped inside the sensor

Functions well
As others have mentioned, this is a good product but not straight forward to set up. Directions are not good but if your tech savvy you will figure it out

It works.... but not on WIFI
The product was received on time. It was to replace another hub which died after many years of use. I experience a lot of issues trying to set it up on WIFI. After many unsuccessful attempts, I set it up wired. I received an email from Sengled that this particular model could not be set up on WIFI. No misleading from the supplier since nowhere on the description they mentioned WIFI, I just assumed that all hubs could be set that way.

Not the best
Managed to pair the button controller to my Hubitat hub, but the hub showed no buttons available to assign. Tried again with same result. Tried one more time by resetting the button controller and ended up with a stuck button and no way to unstick it. Lesson learned. Not a well built product.

Disappointing
I have several Sengled lights around my apartment. I bought the hub to be able to control the lights from Apple HomeKit. After installing the hub, I tried to detect my lights, but the app would simply not find them, even after doing a 10-flick reset. Also, the Apple Home app saw the hub, recognized it, but refused to add it. When I tried again, it said I would have to reset the hub. In the end, nothing worked, so I returned it.

The hub app is far too basic for important configuration purpose.
They didn't pair very easy. Tech support was very helpful and quick response. After numerous attempts to get this up and working, I find They go off line alot. The big draw back is the hubs app is too basic. There is no setting for auto dawn or dusk. There are no minute time delays before or after a trigger was set up. This app is far disappointing to the average person. This hub will not work or compatible with other non Sengled devices. Basically what i have is useless for my smart home. If the hub app was more advanced like other hubs, this would be equipment than I could use.
