If you want to try a fude nib, go with Sailor
I've used several other fude nib pens ranging from $15 to $80 and Sailor pens are definitely the best when it comes to fude nibs. The flow is consistent unlike others I've tried, and you really can't beat the price point. The angle of this nib in particular allows for very subtle variations. It's also quite easy to get very fine lines. At some angles I can get a line similar to that of an extra-fine Pilot Kakuno nib. If you want a broader range of line variation or more "random" lines and shapes I'd go with the green Fude de Mannen. If you want to have an easier time reproducing similar line weights and overall finer lines I'd go with the 40 degree nib angle like this one. It's available in several colors if pink isn't really your style. I'd also recommend looking into Sailor ink cartridges if you purchase a Sailor pen. They offer some beautiful and unique inks in cartridge form (even moreso in bottles) Their waterproof nano ink line also works very well in these pens. You can fit 2 ink cartridges in the pen, so they're great for sketching on the go!

smoothest fude I have tried yet
This pen worked smoothly on very rough paper and over ink and over watercolor. I was so impressed. This is the best art pen ever. The strokes on rough paper are like dry brush. The ink that came with the pen is very black and rich. The ink was not waterproof. The line thickness and thinness is better than any flex fountain pen I have tried. The pen also draws well when turned over to do "reverse write". The ink feed keeps up with lots of drawing continuously.

Good sketching fountain pen
This is my first fude fountain pen and I can't believe it provide such a smooth writing experience, and no wonder so many people love it. Affordable and beautiful, it's very light weight because the body is light plastic. The nib is super good. I bought the compatible Sailor cartridge so I can use refill more ink at one time.

Love this pen
I mostly know Sailor for their high-end, way out of my budget fountain pens - I wasn't even aware they made this line until I saw it on Amazon but it was so inexpensive that I had to give it a whirl. I'm not a huge FP guru, so I can't really rate it the way you might be used to, but I love this thing. You'll get a lot of line width variation depending on the angle you hold the nib at (which it's designed for!) and as someone who reads and writes a lot of Chinese and Japanese I love the variation in my characters now. The cartridges this pen comes with are weird - I didn't buy a converter, though, I'm planning to just refill with bottled ink and a syringe.

An amazing nib!
I was leery when I received this bc it was so light ( it is made of plastic). But once I installed a sailor converter ( ink tank, you can’t use an universal one and it’s bought separately), it was better. Especially if you put cap on end. I’ve studied for a couple of months: reviews, websitesand ink store’s information regarding the best style of fountain pens. I’ve read nothing but good about Sailor pens. I’m not ready to invest $200 for any pens, especially since I like variety. So I’ve bought this and two calligraphic sailors. I really love them. Especially the bent nibs. I wanted something with a bit of flex. Sailor has amazing nibs! I can’t believe this is a $20 pen. I noticed my cross is smoother on fountain pen paper, but there’s no flex, nor ability to get the swirls I love. My other pens actually are more expensive ( my first) a Dryden, or cheaper ( which have their own advantages but not worth what the sailor is. I’ve learned too, that the fountain ink makes the other part of the equation! I use noodlers now after reading so much about it. The sailor posits ink smoothly, no scratchiness or stop starts. It is a fast drying ink too so I don’t smear when I write especially trying my improvements in penmanship or lettering

How do you start the ink? Newbie here.
Cute pen. How do you start the ink. Newbie here. Sorry. Didn’t know how to post a question.

Comes with 2 Ink Cartridges
The ink is gorgeous. I thought it was a plain black but it has a faint golden sheen. I love it. So, I purchased this pen for calligraphy but I wish I invested in a flex nib instead. However, I think it's nice I can adjust the size of the line depending on the angle I'm writing, I'm just kind of sad I can't get that variation without a bit of fiddling. It's nearly impossible to write and tilt the angle of the pen at the same time. I'm glad I got the pen anyway~!
