Simplicity
The sealant actually was effective. I have bought some tubes, prepped as indicated, and other tubes from other company just were not mixed.

Very Good Item
Gasket is better than great, BUT the silicone you get with it is less than good. Must kneed it for a long time before you can apply it . While kneading it the paint comes off the tube and really makes a mess. Some time it spurts out while trying to put a nice bead to stick the gasket to.

Be prepaired to deal with it ! But works great. Glue will clean up with warm water.
The gasket is great, the "Black Graphite" one is better to me than the "white" it seems to not stick to the door as much when the door is closed & not in use for a time. With the white, after sitting & not in use for a time the door would stick to the gasket & actually pulled some of it off once, the graphite in the Grapho-Glas seems to help that. As others have written however, the glue is very stiff, I immersed it in hot water for about 20-30 minutes & kneaded for about 5 minutes (Knead it more than I did!) but still is stiff so as you're squeezing fairly hard to dispense it along the area it will come to an air pocket & "Pop" blowing the stuff out of the channel then you will need some disposable tools like break or cut some popsicle sticks in half and use the flat side to get the glue back into channel. I had it on my hands my screwdrivers all my rags & the door. The glue does clean up well with warm water, the towel used will be history however. Be sure to get it off the door, close & latch the door then open & look for traces of the glue on the door & get it off, do this a few times until sure it's not transferring. You will want to close & latch the door to set the gasket well & tight into the glue, after about 15-20 minutes the glue will set & can be scrapped of with knife or putty knife. Just don't let the door get glued to the front of the gasket. worked out great & would use it again when needed.

Nice Gasket, Hard to use adhesive/glue
I bought to to use on a Master forge 2 door smoker, one 6' kit is not enough and you should get two kits. The gasket material looked perfect and should make a great seal and it being black made it even nicer, the hang up is the adhesive/glue. The directions say to make a 1/8 or 1/4 bead with this glue from the tube, but its' way too thick, much thicker than toothpaste more like semi-dried toothpaste. I ended up cutting the top off just to spoon the glue out, this made its application very messy and uneven. Also a big down side with the mess of glue being everywhere was curing, it needed to be done with heat. If I was able to get this small bead this would not have been any issue but since I had to smear it on and combined with the pressure needed to close the door the glue went everywhere and the heat curing almost sealed my door closed. After a broke the seal and chipped of the excess cured glue I was left with a hard gasket with no flexibility. Now the first time I used the smoker the gasket got stuck on the frame and pulled its self off the door. The heat softened the bond, so much for curing. When I do this again I'll buy the gasket from this retailer and buy some other type of adhesive, one that does not require heat to cure the glue. This same company offers the air dry glue but so do others. BTW I did try 3 other tubes and all where very thick and required me to cut off the top to use. The top half of the smoker gasket is working but is still a hard rope but the bottom will require me to remove the gasket and find another type to use. This idea of adding a gasket to the MF smoker is worth the effort in looking for the correct one. Even with all the issues my temp is up by 25+ degrees and no smoke leaking from the door anymore.

It does work
The rope is a little thin for the door and thick for the glass. I had to buy two packs in order to do both. Now my door no longer leaks and the fire no longer roars.

Completely disintegrated in 2 years
I installed this gasket 2 years ago and part of it detached from the door and started to break apart into smaller pieces. I've never had a gasket disintegrate before. Not happy!

Works great, even for a first time user
This product works great. Tip: don’t push the seal in completely, leave a little for cushion and a tight seal. I pulled it too tight the first time and it left a crack.

Does what it's supposed to.
I've have a Magnum ZC fireplace, with duel front glass doors, for 8 years. I heat my house with it. This first week of January 2014 produced temps to -25 here. This gasket and sealing kit saved the day. Easy to install though a bit messy so have a drop cloth handy. The old gasket was very compressed, didn't seal well and allowed air from the house to leak into the burning chamber. Fires were too hot and burned too quickly. The old gasket pulled out of the door groove easily. This new gasket is original size so the doors now seal very well however extremely tight. Make sure you place the adhesive well in the door groove and pack the gasket into the groove as far as you can. I used several spring clamps, at the corners and then every 3-4" to make sure the gasket seated properly. Each door took <30 minutes. The seal is excellent though, like I said very tight. It will improve over the rest of the heating season.

Read the instructions on the adhesive CAREFULLY
Easy to fit (just make sure you wear gloves and knead the adhesive tube for 2 minutes to smooth out the lumps and push out the air bubbles) and looks better than the old white asbestos type rope

Lots of gasket, lots of cement.
No instructions, but YouTube has several. Seems high-quality, and there was cement left over. Took me more time to remove the old one and scrape out the glue than it did to put the new one in.

Does what it's supposed to do...
I only needed 6" to replace the original. It was easy to install following the directions and comments here on Amazon.
