Very Good Tread Mats

I was attracted to the shape and overall aesthetic of these mats, and purchased them for indoor use on our basement steps. They are heavy rubber, and although I haven't had them very long, they seem to be very durable. They actually kept in place pretty well on their own, but I wanted to stick them down. Amazon said that they are frequently bought together with Gorilla Tape. That tape did not stick to them at all, and I ended up putting staples in the front edges and coloring them with a black Sharpy. For a basement application, that worked fine. My only complaint is that they aren't 90 degrees between the tread and the front edge, which looks to be a result of them having been stacked. This resulted in the front edges not conforming to the edges of the steps, and causing somewhat of a tripping hazard. The staples corrected this pretty easily. I can't see any standard household adhesives overcoming this and keeping them flat against the steps. Given that the staples worked for my application, these are a great solution and it looks like we will have them for many years.

You don't slip on these, but you will need glue and a box of tacks to attach

I got these to put atop the steps inside a garage when the sandpaper "grip strips" started looking a bit tacky. You will need some kind of glue to apply them -- I used clear Gorilla construction adhesive. However, even with construction adhesive the overhanging one inch strip on the tread mats wouldn't lay flat against the steps while the glue bonded. I had to resort to using tacks to hold that overhanging strip in place (the tacks are black so you may need to zoom in on the photo to see them). If the overhanging strip was a true right angle then tacks likely wouldn't be needed. The treads do provide a nice non-skid surface and I imagine they will last the lifetime of the stairs.

only received 2/3 of order; seller unresponsive

One box arrived empty and was reported to seller for replacement. No response. These treads do NOT stay in place unless you tack them to the floor (no adhesive provided and no tacks provided). We are in a commercial environment so unsecure treads was not an option. Unfortunately, I still have stairs with no treads as the seller has not replaced the missing treads. Look like a claim is going to Amex as Amazon does nothing.

I have hard wood steps and they’re slippery. These work great and look cool.

Nice modern look. I used clear silicone to stick them down. Work great for my dog and my kids to not slip down the stairs. Nice and thick, I had to trim the width a little for some of my steps. Worth the price. My sister has them in her super modern cool house too.

Much better quality then expected

Superior quality. Sticky rubber is thick and perfect to prevent slipping down steps. Likely will last decades

Front lip tripping hazard

Front lip won’t stay down and trips kids and adults alike. Heavy duty and sturdy...just what I needed if I could just figure out a way to fix them.

Attractive and sturdy

I bought these to save the stain on my deck steps. I was apprehensive because they are not inexpensive --albeit cheaper here on Amazon than elsewhere. I really like the way they look and feel. I live in rainy Seattle so we'll see how they hold up through the super rainy season. I have not tacked them down in any way and I have had no problem with slippage or movement yet. I will be back to comment if they are faulty in any way. So far I am quite pleased.

These treads do provide a better footing, If they are in the sun, as mine are, the heat generated on the rubber is too hot for pets or bare feet.

caoutchouc très collant

A une bonne adhérence sur la surface. Mais la partie avant (la languette) n'est pas à 90 degré il faut donc la clouer à tous les pouces parce que la colle contact de tient pas sur ce caoutchouc. Autre point que j'aime moins c'est le caoutchouc qui est toujours collants et la poussière est très difficile à enlever.
