Same Problem - "Velcro" melts
Great idea but I had same problem as everyone else: the "Velcro" melts and renders useless. The tip is the weak point but that's the whole reason for this attachment! I'd only use this with a variable-speed multi-tool on its' lowest setting. It's frustrating to buy a tool to save time only to have to work slower than by hand... Great idea - not sure how you could fix. PSA (i.e. 'peal-n-stick') would have the same issue (i.e. would heat up, melt & fall-off). A 'sandwich' with pre-cut pads?

Doesnt last but it has special purpose
i bought two of these to try them out for a stair job im doing(im in the flooring trade, sand and finish) and i was very disappointed because the first one didnt last me half of the stairs (which usually they do, i know heat is a big factor so i carry a vacuum with me when i use them and i go the lowest setting so it doesnt melt the velcro) so i left the other one untouch, but man was i happy when this fit under the fire place rock, never would’ve thought about it, so i baby it and it work great! It save me a night of sore finger for sure

Bad product
I read some of the reviews before purchasing this item but thought I would try it and be careful. Well, I found out that most of the negative reviews were correct about this item. I tried to use this item as carefully as I could and still be able to use the item. I even tried using water and wet or dry sand paper to try to keep it cool. It took no time at all to discover the reviews about the product melting with very little use. I limped along but bottom line is that it does not work as a sanding attachment. If I have to be that careful, as in no pressure and only use it for a couple minutes at a time, then the product has design flaws, in my opinion. It was the perfect tool for what I needed it for but it just didn't hold up to what I call normal sanding. Someone needs to go back to the drawing board.

Buy It
I’ve only used this one time (to sand some cabinets for painting). However, I chose to write an early review based on the reviews I read when contemplating whether to buy this. I read so many people having trouble with melting the accessory or it falling apart. For $6 I couldn’t pass it up nonetheless. I haven’t had any issues, and it fits my Kobalt OMT perfectly. I even purchased some finger sanding pads that fit this accessory perfectly. It works well for tight spaces and around those fancy little crevices in custom cabinets.

Why can't they make tools that work anymore?
This is the second lot of these that I bought. I bought a single one a few weeks prior because I was refinishing a chair that needed to be sanded in tight places in joints an between slats. The FIRST one was ruined after about 15 minutes of use because the little nylon pad that holds the sandpaper on absolutely melted rendering the item useless. There are no caveats listed as to, "this tool may get hot and melt the pad with extended use." It was only after reading a review by another user that I slowed down the speed and maintained a "light" touch with this one. HOWEVER! The little nylon pad that hold the sandpaper came off! I wasn't using it more than 5 minutes, and needed to change the sandpaper; being very careful not to pull the sandpaper off without holding down the pad, when the whole thing just came off! I've tried to fix it with Liquid Nails, but have to wait to see if it works! This is ridiculous!

Good product for the purpose.
small detail sanding tool that can get in narrow areas and attach well to the oscillating tool.

Not as I expected
I thought this finger pad would be more useful but the sand paper does not seem to stay on well when the machine is on. The vibration takes the paper off the Velcro backing. Next thing you know your sanding with the Velcro so if you purchase just be aware that the paper may be off the finger pad. Once you start to sand and you sand the pad itself, the sandpaper may not stick as well any longer.

This allowed me to sand in some narrow locations on a recent project. I did not have any trouble with the Velcro melting, but I did not do any real heavy sanding, its not meant for that. By the way, this item is silver colored, except for the Velcro piece that is glued on the bottom that is black.

Slight Different from the Original But it Works Perfectly
I inherited an Original Rockwell from. my father. The foam/velcro on the sanding head had degraded. This replacement looks a bit different than the original but works perfectly and fits the original sanding pads.

Works as intended, can reach tiny areas, do not out pressure as won't last long
Was great for what I needed it for. Nothing else could reach the tiny places on my deck that needed sanding. Only 4 stars because like many other mini sanding finger fingers say, it only lasted a few minutes before it was unusable. Do not put any pressure on it and it should last long enough for just the unreachable section you need it for.

The surface that holds abrasive stop doing it job
The surface that is supposed to hold the sanding pads seemed to melt smooth and will no longer adhere to the sanding pads. This happened after 15 min of sanding. It is now completely useless
