Works fine with an 8 Year Old Non-Starlock Bosch Multi-Tool

I haven't needed new blades for my 8 year old Bosch MX30EK-33 Multi-Tool for quite a while, so I was surprised to see that the blades I bought for the tool 8 years ago are now obsolete! Even though the product page for these Starlock blades said they would work with any Bosch Multi-tool I was a bit skeptical because the Starlock design looks quite different from the old 'flat' blades. I took a chance and bought them anyways and they fit perfectly and work fine. In fact the slightly curved shape of the blade makes initial plunge cutting easier than the old straight blade. So, I'm very happy that my 'old' Multi-tool is not going to obsolete because I couldn't find any blades for it.

missleading advertisment

i have ordered this blades expecting to recive by metal variant ,as it is advertized.Instead I got wood cuting blades ,witch are with longer teet and they brake in hard wood.Also I have noticed that on the picture and the text description there is diferent products,Picture shows wood cuting blades and description seys by metal.I ordered them on sale for $99 and I will have to return them now.At the moment to reorder the right blades will cost me over $170.Not very happy about the experiance !

The sanding sheets slip off the included pad within 20 seconds of use

The sanding pad is not fit for purpose. No matter how lightly I applied pressure, the sanding sheets spin off the sanding pad without barely touching the surface being sanded, which in my case was polyester resin on a repaired timber window sill. Strangely, I could get the included sheets to stick much longer to my old Ozito sanding pad, even though the Ozito pad was included as a freebie with the multi-tool and was falling to pieces. I think the sanding sheets included in this kit are okay, but the sanding pad (being the reason I bought the kit) is rubbish.

Too Expensive but stuck with StarLock

If you buy a Bosch or Fein you are stuck with StarLock and must buy their very overpriced StarLock blades. Quality is find but does not justify the price! These blades will work with others but no other blades will work with a Starlock Oscillating tool!

Unfortunately but poor quality

As someone else mentioned here in review it is not Bosch quality like. The send paper hardly stick to it and moving away from centre towards outside. I am honestly dissatisfied with this purchase. Bosch definitely has to improve this pad
