Great for writing in rough conditions.
The blaze orange makes them loss resistant (not proof). The pens themselves eventually quite working, and don't seem to be repairable. But that takes a while.

I am amazed!
I learned and now understand why Rite in the Rain products are so valuable and loved. Last night our biology team was outside working in the field in heavy rain. I was the only one who had a rite in the rain pen, everyone else had regular pens, but we all had the same journal. I was the only one that could write for the evening, everyone else’s pens failed in the rain. My journal was literally a sheet of standing water and the pen was writing through it. I am amazed! It was such a great experience and we saw so many awesome things.

Writes adequately on Rite in the Rain note pads
Writes adequately, but not easily or smoothly on the Rite in the Rain notepads. The pen needs some pressure to perform, possibly because the paper is treated, so the writing can be of uneven thickness. That said, it works as advertised and does not smear like normal ballpoints or gel writers.

Could be better
Cheap casing. Writes on almost everything; Problem writing on wet plastic envelope window. Makes me wonder whether it would write on an oily surface.

decent pen
the pen is all around just okay it isn't anything crazy and for the price I expected more the clicking to the pen isn't honestly good and for a pen that cost about this much I'd expect it to be atleast decent it does have a pressurized ink cartridge so it writes even upside-down I think that in itself makes the pen worth it I did enjoy writing with it and I think you would too

Excellent pen! Barrel color options appreciated.
I've been a fan of both Fisher Pen and Write In The Rain for years, so this checks both of those boxes. It writes as expected and past experience with Fisher tells me that it shouldn't let me down. I picked the orange barrel to make sure i can more readily find it if I sit it down on the ground or drop it while doing field work.

Good Product
Good pen, will write on almost anything (including wet paper) and in any angle.

Just write
In response to the reviewer who mentions the plastic body and a rattling cartridge: actually it's just the button that rattles and only in the retracted position - no big deal - and being plastic pleasingly keeps the weight down. I don't expect to break mine, but in an emergency you could just use the bare cartridge. Anyway, it writes reasonably nicely and hopefully will remain reliable thanks to the pressurisation. I've not had mine long. I'll edit this review if anything changes. That is unless I happen to die in the same accident that kills my pen.

Writing does not flow easily
Writing can be a bit 'hesitant' on the 'Riteintherain' paper - and that was in the dry! Given the claims and the price, I expected a lot better. In hindsight, not worth the price or the effort of ordering.

Yippeee! It works
Although I haven't used it yet for free, in the field so-to-speak, I have tried it and it does work. Lookin' good for my cycling trip in Vietnam and Cambodia. (Just hope my Kaiser Baas camcorder works as well in the rain.)

Great in all conditions
Pen writes well for everyday writing and also works surprisingly well in wet conditions. Without the right paper you will tear the paper apart while still leaving ink in its trail. Has very little trouble writing in the cold as well as I used it on job sites throughout the winter months.
