Did the job

I purchased this to hang my 55" TV on the wall and it worked like a dream and I feel like my TV is installed properly and safe. But I've also used it to hang mounted animals and other things I feel should be securely mounted. This wasn't a lot of money but it has worked wonderful every time

Be sure to read instructions

Works great, instructions made sense. Though husband needed help for me to explain stuff. For reference he doesn’t read instructions and gets confused easily.

decent stud finder

i like these stud finders for the most part. they’re pretty accurate. i do wish it was clearly written somewhere in the description here that it requires a 9v battery that is NOT included lol. aside from that, it occasionally indicates a stud randomly but mostly they’re accurate!

Best little MUST HAVE gadget EVER!

I just purchased this handy dandy little gadget.TWICE neighbor girl came over looking for my 'stud finder' as she wanted to hang a shelf. borrowed her mine and then went online and bought her one for herself...told her she is going to NEED THIS little gadget FOREVER, saying to her,with a laugh, 'don't give it to your dad.you'll never see it again.' She loves it so much, I got big hugs from her for thinking of her. So I decided that I needed to buy another for my niece who just moved into her own apartment. Tell you what ,if you know young people who are out on their own and will often struggle as to 'how to' hang anything on a wall without it falling down (which ,in my own personal experience, looking back, would always be in the middle of the night, and it would scare the bejeezes out of me) This is small, easy to use and just about anyone who has ever hung anything on a wall, would love to have ! this is a great little gadget, saves one from having to make SEVERAL holes in the wall just to hang ONE thing! I remember my mother trying to hang things.alot of what she hung on the wall would have up to 5 extra unused holes in the wall behind whatever she hung up(laugh) This also works especially well for when you need to hang a curtain rod and want to be sure you anchor the mounting brackets to the stud and not the sheetrock....anchors work.kinda. Until they don't....then you're left with a huge hole in the wall from the anchor that pulled out due to the weight .( I learned this from experience, so allow my experience to spare you the pain of having to make repairs to your walls ,the way I used to have to) This operates on an easily found 9volt battery (not included). Will last for years!!!! It is an indispensable item for anyone who has ever wanted to hang ,or hans hung,anything of 'weight' on their wall.. It is well worth the cost effective price. it will cost you more to repair/patch your wall and replace what was broken when it fell off the wall because you didn't hit the stud. AND I really like that this little gadget lets you know when you are at the edge of a stud. VERY HELPFUL! You want to be dead on center when at all possible.especially if you're hanging a mirror..... not that I can say I don't enjoy the sound of breaking glass.....but it's rather dangerous to clean up that kind of mess. Yep. Everyone should have one of these.

Good product but missing instructions

I had problems using this at first & it didn’t come with any instructions so I had to watch a YouTube video (thank god for those people!) Place on wall, hold button, move around. If you place it directly on the stud, it’ll beep consistently throughout the wall. Need to remove, place it a few inches over, hold button and move again.

Does it job! Happy with it. And of course, if you’re a dad you can hold this bad boy up to your chest, and say “I found a stud”, to be honest that was the main reason of purchase, but works well for what it’s intended to do too.

Great value

It took my husband 3.2 seconds after opening the package to hold it up to himself and say the age ol' "it works, it found a stud like me" lol. Item is as described, worked well for our purpose to hang the TV. Great addition to our tools.

Accuracy is so so

I thought it came with a battery. Almost could not test and use it right away. Because it's lock-down time, nowhere to buy a 9volts battery easily. Finally I did a test with a battery from my meter. But I found its accuracy was not very good. Sometimes, it could not find a stud where it should have one.

The motherboard likes to corrode

THIS THING IS TRASH. the first time I used this I found one stud and when I tried it again to confirm that it was correct the stud finder never worked again. Now all it does is continuously beep and show me a red light as it tries to calibrate itself. So I went on the craftsman website to see what the reviews were like there and a majority are 1 stars and have the same problem as me. UPDATE: I opened the stud finder because my return window was closed and found that there was some corrosion on the motherboard, so I cleaned it with alcohol and a Q-tip and now it does a mediocre job of finding studs.

Can be used for small jobs in house

This is perfect stud finder for household use but not suitable for professional or industrial use. Its accuracy almost good. If you are looking stud finder for small job, i would recommend it for its price. Dont waste extra money for expensive one just buy this.
