Reliable name, and quick, easy install
I use a Do-It-Yourself small solar system to daily power a freezer in our hot Texas garage. I seemingly runs most of the day in the summer time. I've added a 3rd 100w solar panel and had to upgrade to a 30A solar charge controller to charge my battery string, as a result. I chose Renogy because of the 'reliable' name brand. I have a 1000W Renogy inverter that I have run for over a year with no issues. The install of this new Renogy Wanderer was very straight forward, easy, and quick. My only complaint was 'self-inflicted' :( I'm use to having a digital meter on the front of the controller, telling me the charging current/voltage/watts being used, etc. Being a DIY'er and tinkerer... I enjoy seeing what it's doing! I, for some reason, got involved in the reviews and didn't even notice there wasn't one!! It just has colored LED's to report the systems status. For the normal person that's a non-issue. It's a good unit! :)

Used for off grid electric fence.
I bought 2 of these for separate livestock fences that I don't have grid power to yet. I have this with a battery, and an electric fence energizer in a waterproof plastic Craftsman toolbox with a rubber gasket seal and drilled my holes in the side of the toolbox and added rubber grommets to run the wires in from the solar panel. They've been working in temps up to 100 F down to about 8 F just fine.

Solid
Used this for a small solar build for a storage shed and I'm very satisfied with it. It was easy to install and is maintaining the battery very well using 1 100 W solar panel.

SIMPLE YET FUNCTIONAL
Excellent device. I cannot overemphasize the need to NEVER connect solar panels only,it WILL damage the device. Learn this: First Step: BATTERY CONNECT Last Step: BATTERY DISCONNECT

Get the BT module!
without the BT module to adjust voltages, the Lithium setting has too low a voltage for LifePo4 by default, the BT module lets you adjust and save settings

Have not needed tech support
This thing is pretty amazing. There’s a video review of this item but the user is doing everything wrong and he thinks it’s the devices problem. First off, hold the grey button LONGER than 7seconds to change between battery types, push it quickly to rotate through or cycle the battery options and they are all color coded for ease of locating. The video of the user pushing the grey button for less than 5 seconds is really bad and misleading. He did NOT read the instructions. Hook up t he battery first and hold the grey button for longer than 7 seconds to set battery type. Then connect the solar panels. Know this: the set screws arrive in the clamped shut position and you MUST unscrew them to open the connecting terminals (again the guy with the bad video states the screws are bad) using a small driver designed for smaller screws. Do NOT use a number one screw driver, it’s to big and will cause head stripping. The only draw back is there is no USB connection and that would be nice.

Pay Attention
If your solar project includes cameras or phones avoid this controller. It has the input for the solar panel and the output for the battery charging circuit but strangely a sensor plug and an RS232 plug. What it doesn't have are any USB power outlets. I'm now waiting for a 12vdc to 5.5vdc adapter to finish powering my camera, an extra expense and delay I wouldn't have if I had paid attention.

Great little unit.
I brought this as an upgrade from one of the unbranded charger controllers to give me some room to upgrade and as with all the other Renogy kit I've installed it hasn't disappointed. Holds a better charge voltage for longer delivering more amps and handles cloudy cover better than the cheap unit. Worth the money if you're not splashing out on an MPPT.

A teach product from a terrible company
There are barely any LifePo4 charge controllers available on Amazon under $100, so I bought this Renogy one, despite being reluctant to deal with Renogy. I know Renogy has a terrible reputation for customer service, but I hoped this product wouldn't need any. This thing is terrible. When my LifoPo4 battery is fully charged, this charge controller gives it full panel voltage every few minutes. That means it sends over 20v to my battery, causing my inverter to go into over-voltage shutdown every time. I hope my new $1200 LifePo4 battery's BMS was protecting the cells from damage while that was happening. Contacting Renogy for help from Canada is a nightmare experience and I recommend not bothering. If you are patient and lucky enough to even reach a member of staff you'll probably find that they are about as intelligent as Siri and can do nothing other than waste your time and give you stupid answers. It is actually painful to deal with them. I will never buy from Renogy again. Their panels are good enough, but their electronic products are cheaply made, unreliable (even dangerous) and they offer the worst customer support in the solar industry. I will have to find another controller that isn't made by Renogy.

All the information you could ever want just not so easy to change parameters.
New rewiring of solar to my teardrop tongue box was flawless and easy. I added the BT-1 and temp sensor for full information and it's now perfect. The only drawbacks I've noted are the inability to alter control or have a constant reading of the information. Once the signal to my iPad is lost, the information is not recorded. Seems counter intuitive.

Excellent value and quality, great output and convenient size.
No complaints at all so far. Plugged a 160W Kings Folding panel into it, and in late afternoon, Winter sun on the east coast of Australia, angled towards the sun the best I could, I was pulling 7.85A out of this controller which is more than enough to keep my fridge running indefinitely off my lithium battery. Don't let people tell you that an MPPT is superior, because for small panels, there's very little difference in my experience. Excellent controller that I bought as a backup in case my CTEK blows an internal fuse (again) and is totally useless. Build quality is good, hard plastic with an aluminium base plate. The grub screws hold 8AWG cable very well and it won't pull out on their own easily. The LED indicators are very bright and easy to see in sunlight too.

Simple to use
I bought this charge controller to replace the very cheap and nasty default controller that came with my solar panels. This one works very well. Simple to use, just has solar in and battery out. No load connections, and for my set-up that is perfect as load is directly off the battery. The controller has start, bulk and float charge modes. There is a maintenance mode but that hasn't been activated yet. I also bought the BT01 adapter so I can use the app to monitor it.
