Less usable space in front compartments

I've had the small Rover for several years and I have loved it. I thought I would upgrade to the larger size for more gear. Unfortunately, the only difference between the small and large is the height. The main compartment is quite a bit taller, so that's great for longer items. However, the front top compartment is the same size as the small. The larger front compartment is taller but actually has less usable space. Rather, I should say that it has less organizable space. The pockets are smaller. There's 4 elastic loops versus 7 in the small size. Each of those is narrower than those in the small. While the compartment is taller, it's not as deep and the gear I had in the small size won't fit. Also, as with the small size, the fabric that seperates the 2 lower front compartments is very thin and it really should be the canvas material instead for added strength. This is still a good bag and I'll make it work for something else.

Awesome bag

Great bag for EMS! Bag goes through a daily regime of constant use and abuse. Lol it gets beat up pretty good in the situations we deal with. Great bag highly recommend, been buying for years and never let down. Once had a pocket come apart, though easy to fix and got a discount, still a fantastic bag though.

Great EDC Bag

This is my EDC bag, I have added a few molle items. Beverage Holder and Dump Bag. Been very impressed. Love the gray color but hard to find add-on's to match it exact.

It was great, until it wasn't.

I originally had the smaller sling bag but due to work needs I upgraded taking a chance even with the reviews being as mixed as they were. My old bag is still going strong and this one was great. Until I went to zip it up and this happened. For $50 I really expected this to last longer than 9 months. Sadly, this is a pain in the butt problem to fix so for now I'll have to retire it. The quality over the years seems to have decreased. And I use this as a basic to and from work bag. Nothing rough.

Same as the Smaller one

I have had several of the smaller version of this bag. The larger one is made in the same basic design as the smaller one, but longer in the bag. I do wish the company would get rid of the over sized lower portion of the strap. It always ends up getting into my neck. I also wish they would put more padding into the shoulder strap. I have not found another bag as well laid out inside as this one and always come back to it.

Great until the stitching came undone

It was a great bag for the 5 months I've had it until the stitching on the zipper came undone on the main pocket. Additional minor stitching on the MOLLE loops has come undone. *Update* I contacted RROG directly and they said they would be honoring the warranty. Additionally When I called I spoke to a person right away and did not have to go through an automated system at all.

so versatile... awesome!

I love this bag. I have customized it with add-ons using the Molle straps for my fly fishing gear. Perfect for hiking into those tough spots and carry's everything I need and then some. just hoping the quality will hold up... time will tell. but at this price point was worth the chance over brand name "fishing" sling packs

Great bag and lots of room.

This is the second RedRock bag I’ve bought. The first is still going strong after 5 years of steady use back and forth to work. No issues, i just wanted a larger one. There were no coyote or brown coloured ones left so I got gray and it’s nice too.

Great sling backpack, with few shortcomings

UPDATE: A little bit over a year passed and the main shoulder strap tore off! I was out and suddenly the bag just fell off. It was quite easy to fix (just sewed it with nylon thread, it works just as new). Just so you know, it can happen. Took one star off because of this. UPDATE #2: The main strap retainer clip also snapped out! Again easy enough to fix (use a paper clip twisted to make the retainer larger, won't slip trough the hole again). Dunno if I should remove another star or add one for "repairability" factor. The bag is still kicking - but be prepared to fix it! UPDATE #3: After three years of daily use, the internal waterproof-rubberized coating is breaking/peeling. Minus another star. Definitely will NOT purchase this one again. My former MEC bag was WAY more resilient, while not claiming to be anything "tactical". I come from owning an MEC Flux backpack, a 12L sling bag that served me well for almost 10 years. Finding any sling bag over 10L that is not overpriced is hard. Come this one - it's solidly built, has tons of pockets, and is comfortable to wear. If you are looking for a nice practical everyday commuter sling bag, it's a great purchase! However, after few months, here's my criticisms for potential buyers: 1) It's "tactical" - it's initially designed as a concealed-carry backpack, and has the tactical gear aesthetics. Might not fly well if you want something flashier or more fashionable. Outdoor-ish looking it is not. 2) Most zippers work well, but seems like QC is spotty: some of my zippers tend to jam a bit, but not enough to warrant a return. Just a minor annoyance. 3) It's great for left-handed people as the strap is reversible (you can snap it to left or right hook), but some pockets only have a single zipper (making them "right handed"). Meaning it's not as convenient to open one-handed when you sling the bag in front. 4) The "drainage holes" might be great when you tread rivers and other "tactical environments", but when just commuting in a bus, water or melted snow might wet whatever's at the bottom of the main pocket. I plugged the main hole with a bike-repair patch. Works well, looks good. Still a great purchase, especially for the price. The many hooks and "tactical attachments" of the MOLLE system are great if you use that bag on a video shoot, as you can hook and hang many things to your bag.
