I have heard the complaints and the raves. I think you need to have a realistic expectation of the top. I purchased this because I live in Colorado. Weather depends on your altitude, time of day and what side of the mountain you're on. This causes some problems with planning for a trail ride. This top doesn't need a frame, it has storage for the side windows when it gets hot, complete coverage for cold, and it was inexpensive compared to others. That said, it is the tightest dang top I have seen. My buddy helped me with the first install and it still took 45 minutes for 2 guys with jeep experience. The top has two internal bars that slap in high winds or at high speeds but also offer a spot to hook my stuff to. A towel or jacket in there keeps it quiet. It is a soft top, it makes noise, the fit is amazing, the price is right and if you install it correctly (from front to back) the zippers are fine and strong. It is not for everyone but it works with 60 degree shifts in temp we can get in the high country. EDIT: Feb 2012 - After using this top all season I am sold on the theory that this is the best top for the money. In the spring and fall when the temps are cool and the winds are high, this top gets some slap noise, but in the summer when it is just hot and calm the top is quieter than most. I get no leaks, and I have even done some light storm chasing in this top. Hail and high winds out on the Colorado plains didn't bother me with the top battened down. As expected, it was great to have the top available for sudden showers and snow in the high country. EDIT: March 2013 - Still love this top, no problems with it yet. Snow, ice, rain, and hail haven't hurt it. I still run it through a car wash a few times a year. I am starting my 3rd season with it and it is still very tight and I have no leaks in the top itself. I still recommend it. EDIT: June 2013 - In late April we had a temp swing from near 80 to 40 degrees in a very short time as a storm passed through. The zipper on the drivers side back window popped a couple teeth and the zipper pull itself separated. I wrote Rampage in early May about the issue and never got a response. I ordered a zipper repair kit but it didn't work for this application, so I wrote them again tonight. It has a 2 year warranty according to the website, which it was within when it broke, but now a month later I haven't heard from them to even offer to sell me a repair kit. So, product is great, service seems to be lacking. EDIT: Feb 2014 - I ran all summer without a back window. Not a big deal in this state since it is pretty dry. I never heard from Rampage so I paid a canvas shop to sew in a replacement zipper. If you run into this, one bonus is that the zippers are standard and available cheaper than a Jeep zipper would be. (about 1/2 the cost)so I still like it and still think Rampage customer service is a myth.

Super tight new top
Tough, tight installation. We broke a zipper on the back window, I called Rampage to see about a zipper repair kit and they offered to replace the back window under warranty. I had it in 2 days, now the top is great.

Has lasted for four years but...
I've had this on my '06 for four years now and have been happy with it. Not over joyously happy, just happy. I bought it because my original finally gave up the ghost and shrunk to uselessness and because I have a cargo rack that doesn't permit a fold down top. Since this was and is the only product out there that I could find that does what it does for the price it does it I'll end up buying another one very soon. Four years life is pretty good for a product of this price and quality. I've read of zippers breaking and seams ripping but I've had those on bikini tops and dusters as well. If the user follows the instructions. goes slowly when installing the first time, all will be well. Eventually seams will start to wear and rip. Ham-fisting the zippers on the rear window will lead only to disaster. Keep the zips lubed with a good lubricant for nylon zippers, not machine oil. The top also comes with a couple of foam spacers for the tops of the doors to keep it taut. After the second year I lost one and after three emails to the company and two back saying they were on back order and I'd be contacted when they came in and never was, I gave up. They're not a deal-breaker and probably some pipe insulation sized to fit would work fine. My biggest complaint that has led to me preparing to buy a new top is the damned windows! I don't know what they're made of but no matter what I've done in the lines of recommended maintenance they've gone to being useless as far as seeing is concerned. The rear has developed some kind of coating from reaction to the local air or weather in general that resists all plastic window pastes and polishes on the market. And the window panels only come tinted. The attached photo shows how the deterioration started after only about 18 months of use. It's much, much worse after four years. I could probably replace the panels themselves but then they more than likely wouldn't fit the top properly. Each vehicle is different and tops of this nature grow to meet the form of that particular vehicle. So if you're on the fence about this top I'd recommend it. For the price you can't loose. Just remember that when you start complaining. Watch the "how to install" videos and follow the written instructions closely.

Got what i wanted and very happy with it..
Fits well could be a little tighter I am used to having to stretch my other tops this one went right on out of the box (After a rain storm Cloudy) a little flappy and loose cold.

Great installation; BAR FOR WINDSHIELD NOT INCLUDED
Exactly what I wanted, slick and easy installation, looks great. I didn’t warm up the top, straight out of the box and installed it. The ad photos are misleading as they show a picture of the windshield bar, IT IS NOT INCLUDED. Fortunately I already had one for a bikini top so it didn’t matter to me. Another item not clearly stated in the ad is there is a really slick roof top integrated storage sleeve, the rear window slips into it and then the detached side windows each go into their own pocket. Makes for a great setup protecting the side windows from pinstriping on the trail.

Ordered for my 99tj,, had to order the rampage windshield channel as it wouldn't fit well with my besttop one . No complaints, fits great ,looks great ,,,love the oversized windows and the deep tint ????

Wasn’t aware I needed anything other than this purchase Ordered top windshield bar attachment Then tried to install now I need a rear additional support very frustrating haven’t used. But have installed partially twice now
