I own a 2014 JKU Sport that came with a hardtop. On eBay last year I found a used soft top from a 2008 JKU to run in the summer. All of the hardware is in great shape but the fabric was dry-rotted and the stitching started to pull away. I was looking for a good replacement fabric without spending $800. Granted, you get what you pay for, and most of the reviews state these are the tops to get, but some of us are on a budget! My top is only going to be on six-seven months of the year anyway, and most of it (hopefully) folded back to enjoy the sun. The Rampage top is absolutely great. The fabric is heavy and dark, dark black in color. The tint on the rear windows is slightly reddish/brownish when looking from the inside out of the vehicle, but appears black when looking at the vehicle from the outside. Installation: Went well. Put the top on the grass for 4 hours on a 82F sunny day, and then proceeded to the install. Quibbles? Please put a dead center mark on the header piece, like other tops on the market. Trying to center the top back folded across the hood and then keeping it centered while fastening the billion screws in the header plate really would be easier with a reference mark. A notch, white mark, something, anything to center while up top installing it would be great. There are four black metal posts (24 " long) in the box that were unused. Have no idea what they are for. Top also doesn't come with straps to roll up back window. If someone's old top is old, this probably needs replacement as well. My used top was missing the pieces all together. If you have a 2007-2012, or are retrofitting these frame/tops to a 2013-current, get the foam seal kit from MOPAR. OEM Mopar Header Foam Tape Kit 2011-2015 Jeep Wrangler #68078452AA. I've now had the top two months, and it has seen rain, wind and sun. It gets folded back 2-3 times a week. The seals are good, and I have no leaks (did before installing foam kit above - passenger side front door). Still looks great, and the windows are holding up well, no kinks, scratches at all even though I throw them in the back of the Jeep. Quibbles. Can someone make getting the back window zipped easier? Side windows are a snap. There needs to be a similar system for the back window rather than the bar, the two plastic mounts and a zipper buried behind two inches of taut, immobile fabric. There also needs to be 1/4 to 1/2" less plastic vertical channel on the side windows at the top. I can never get the top piece fully seated in the channel. Might thin this out with a dremel if I get brave. Door closes on it fine. One quality issue. After two weeks the pulls on the rear window zipper all failed/broke. I replaced them with paracord, only to have the zipper slider break in half!!! It doesn't add to the price of the top to get real YKK zippers that have the replacement # on them. It was a bear finding the right size. Everyone said a Jeep top should be a #10 YKK, on this top it is a #8. All in all, a four-star top. Make installation easier with the centering the header, make the rear zipper more accessible and easier to engage, and improve the quality of the zipper components and I would make it five-star. I'll report back in a year!
