EASY!

I have been looking into drip irrigation for the perimeter of my house for awhile now. I was tired of getting the hose out each time and have to grab it out. My backyard is HUGE. I watched videos on YouTube and it all seemed so intimidating. I decided to just jump in and give it my best shot. I came across this set and I am so glad I did. It was so easy to assemble. The instructions don't exactly give you tons of info, but it was enough for me to understand. I also watched some videos online to help. I suggest doing that as well. I took out the pieces and planned it all out. Once I got out there and started, it all just came together so easily. Connecting the tubes and all the little pieces was so easy. The only issue I came across was every once in awhile I found a piece hard to push in, but I wouldn't say it's the products fault. I ended up not having all the pieces I need, but this company made it super easy to order more things I needed right from their storefront. Once I got it all together and turned on...everything worked as it should. I did have a few leaks (not the products fault, all mine) and I just used silicone to fix it. Im honestly shocked I was able to do this all on my own and how easy this kit made it. It's also very customizable so I feel like this could work in any garden. Tip that I learned: lay your tubing out in the sun for a little bit. This will make it easier to work with!

Installed to irrigate a hedge along a wall. The kit had everything I needed to get started, but had to buy a couple of extra pieces to cover an area. The extra parts are available at Home Depot or Lowes - Now have good coverage and water only where its needed.

Not designed for ease of assembly

While this system will likely be fine in use - the assembly is at times based on outdated brute strength application. Many of us who want to enjoy the ease of an automatic watering system are doing so because we wish to SAVE labor for other uses. The attachment of the main (1/2") line to the coupler and backflow preventer requires great strength (or did you send poor parts?). I enlisted the aide of a kind fellow, who also struggled with it for quite a while before we finally got it assembled. I'm no engineer, but quite logically see where a better design could have made this as relatively simple as the rest. I also found that your roll of your drip irrigation tube worked great in place of applying the individual drippers, but only after the fact. Add to this that when the tap is turned off, there is a great gushing spray that comes out of the attachment, reminding you that it's not going lightly into that good night. Assembled, it has operated well (so far). If the attachment components fail, however, I will gleefully rip out the whole thing and lay soaker hoses, which don't fight being put into service. I regret this purchase and would prefer a simpler, user FRIENDLY product that doesn't require force.

Better choice than soaker hose

I opted to buy this drip irrigation set rather than a soaker hose due to the size of my garden needing water. It has equal water pressure throughout the entire run of pipe, and the variety of watering options (drippers, sprayers, bubblers) is great. I was careful while inserting the barbed couplers/drippers as I had read reviews that the sharp end could poke through the other side. So far so good!

Easy to set up, flawless operation but, doesn't play well with Smart Water Valves

The kit was easy to set up. I am happy with it. Some small things- When the temperature is under approximately 75 degrees, there is a leak at the dripper connections from the 1/2 inch tubing. Those same connections are watertight when the temperature is above 90 degrees. We are using this kit to water our 80-foot backyard garden and found the selection of drip watering devices “almost” perfect. I would consider the Rain Bird DRIPPAILQ Drip Irrigation Repair and Expansion Kit an essential supplemental purchase. The one big issue I have is the interaction with Smart hose valves. I own three Orbit BHyve valves and the Eve Aqua Smart Water Controller. On an Orbit 62010N 4 outlet Brass Hose Faucet Manifold, I have installed a Hoselink garden hose, a simple four-head lawn sprinkler system, the Orbit 69525 Micro Bubbler Complete Drip Irrigation Watering Kit, and the Rain Bird kit. The three sprinkler systems are attached to three separate Orbit BHyve units. On the Orbit kit and my lawn sprinklers, I have NEVER had a water hammer. I have had those systems in service for three years. Approximately four times out of every five uses, the Smart valve refuses to close on the Rain Bird kit and causes a water hammer. I have tried moving the valve further down the hose line, systematically removing sections of the 3-in-1 Rain Bird faucet adapter, and installing fresh batteries in the water valve to no avail. I replaced the BHyve with the Eve Aqua Smart Water Controller. I STILL got a water hammer ONLY in the Rain Bird line. I can’t fault Rain Bird for this behavior. The kit does work flawlessly and does exactly what it claims to do. However, I would be hesitant if I was setting up a DIY, Alexa, Homekit Smart water system.

Still needed to order extra bits...

The system is very easy to install and use. I connected it to a timer for automatic watering of my many, many container and hanging plants. I originally bought a kit from a local store but realized I could easily expand it with the connectors and irrigation heads available through Amazon. Handy bucket with organizer tray of all the bits. I think there are too many straight connectors and not enough 3-way connectors in the kit. I ended up having to supplement to fill all my needs; buying more 3 way connectors.

Hard to assemble. Takes tweaks to prevent leaks

Great once in place. Takes a fair amount of strength to assemble. Like, more so than seems necessary. Missing plumbing tape. Hose attachment gasket was defective (I had a few spares... This can be replaced if it happens to you). Tends to lose flow when water pressure changes. You have to squeeze it together tighter so it resumes flow. These are all manageable issues.

On a pratiquement tout ce dont on a besoin sous la main

Je l’utilise pour une irrigation goutte à goutté de plantes en pot à l’extérieur. Je suis pas mal certain d’y trouver tous les connecteurs requis. Par contre, je préfère utiliser du tuyau émetteur à la place des énetteurs localisés fournis. J’ai donc acheté le tuyau émetteur à part.
