Works well for large heads.

I have a rather large head, and most earmuffs start to get painful within an hour or so. I wanted something which would be comfortable, have a high NRR rating, and not look massively huge. These fit the bill nicely. They're comfortable to wear and aren't very tight, which is surprising giving their high NRR of 29. They also do a good job of hiding their bulk. They definitely do a good job of killing noise and it feels like the NRR of 29 is accurate.

Good all-around light ear protection.

These are stylish and comfortable ear protection. The 29db noise reduction wasn't quite enough so I use them in conjunction with 29db noise reducting foam ear plugs and that seems to work well in noisy environments. The headband is comfortable and the adjustable height is needed. The adjustment is just enough to allow me to wear a ball cap underneath the earmuffs. I have not had any issues with the seal but it does look like the coating on the foam pads would wear out quickly from heavy use. Overall these work well for the price and the muffs fold up into the headband for easy storage.

GREAT QUALITY

These muffs are super for anyone with a large head. However, they were supposed to be red--they are not . These are a deep burgundy. Will keep anyway. Too much of a pain to re-wrap.

Good product for hunters

Bought this for my father-in-law, who is a big hunter. He liked them, but didn't like that they blocked out all noise. He wanted something that only blocked out the gunshot (or at least muffled it), so we ended up returning these and getting something else. Still, for the avid target or range shooter, these are a solid buy. Also, they don't have the additional bells and whistles of other products - some have radios and the like - that wouldn't be practical for hunting.

I Can't Hear You.......

I purchased two of these (red and black) for use at the rifle and pistol range by myself and my spouse. The 29 Noise Reduction Ratio (NRR) was one of the highest to be found in this price range. Apparently there are variations from unit to unit, as one does a more effective job at sealing out sound than the other. I can't tell you the difference in terms of NRR as I have no quantitative way to measure it, but my ears tell me it's so. I'm also not sure if one is providing a higher than 29 NRR and the other just a 29 NRR or if they are both below 29 with one worse than the other. I've closely examined the seals on both units and cannot find any difference that could be the culprit. Both are effective at muffling sounds, but my preference is for the one than does the better job (it's the red one, in case anyone is interested...) The headband is quite comfortable with a "silk-like" stretchable material covering the band. The "ear muffs" fold conveniently into the headband for packing in my range bag. Importantly, they are comfortable to wear (I have a big head) for several hours, even with glasses. I've given the product 3 stars because the sound dampening is not consistent between the two units, otherwise it would have garnered a 4 star rating.

good shooting muffs for the price

I have used these for pistols in calibers .380, 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. All were very much muted, with nothing uncomfortable coming through. Comfort is adequate. Durability is unknown at this point.

The best bang for your buck at reducing the bang on your ears!

Great Ear protection for sports shooters. Had a pair for ages and had to replace them. Highly recommended!
