Perfect for multiple uses!
I love these! I have been using them for some time now. They have been used as ear protection while shooting, headphones while listening to audiobooks, and ear protection while dryer dogs with a high velocity blow dryer. The fit great on my smaller head (why I bought youth sized). They don't squeeze my head. I love them!

Fits small adult head excellent!!!
Finally, ear protection that fits my small head. I am a grown woman, but the adult ear protections are a little bit too big on me and therefore don’t provide proper hearing protection. This one fits perfectly! I haven’t actually used it on the range yet though.

volume control does not work
This Caldwell is both an "electronic earmuff" and a headphone. It runs on three AAA batteries, which are included. * Noise Reduction By "earmuff," Caldwell means something to suppress noise, not warm your ears. In that sense, this Caldwell works pretty well. It claims to have a 23dB NRR. I did notice significantly less noise when I put them on. They're a tight fit, which is intended. The instructions say that a poor (non-tight) fit would lessen these earmuff's noise reduction capabilities. Important: These are earmuffs, NOT "noise canceling" headphones. Caldwell calls these "electronic" earmuffs, but I didn't notice a difference in noise reduction when I turned the earmuffs on. They work equally well whether turned on or off. * Headphones These are also headphones. You can plug your 1/8" jack into the headphones and listen to music or your TV. I plugged the headphones into my computer, listened to music. Even when the headphones were turned OFF, the sound quality was good. When I turned the headphones ON, the sound was a little louder, but not by much. The headphone's volume controls did not work for me. I pressed the + and - buttons, but there was no change in volume. I could change the volume via my computer's controls, but the volume controls on the headphone did nothing. * Instructions These headphones come with scant instructions. At first I didn't know where to insert the batteries. Nothing on the headphones appeared to be an opening. The enclosed instructions had a diagram of the headphones, with an arrow pointing to where the batteries were to be inserted. I looked there, and at first I was still unable to find the battery panel. I did eventually figure out how to open the headphone. But it's not intuitive or obvious, and the instructions only point to the spot, when a more explicit diagram of the area would be helpful. These are a pretty good earmuffs and headphones combo.

They work well but hard to push buttons while wearing.
I got these for my daughter to take with when we go to the range. She is old enough now to tag alone and learn to shoot. She was super excited, but then the virus came and closed everything down. I still need to write this review, so I decided to have her test these at my husband's work. He works at an automotive service center, so the shop is very loud! Imagine air tools, metal on metal banging, all around banging, and sometimes grinding metal parts. She isn't allowed inside the shop, but she was allowed to stand in the doorway for awhile with his supervision to test these. They did great! She kept putting her hands on her ears and was a little afraid of the shop because of the noise, but when these went on she instantly relaxed. I was able to speak to her at a normal volume and she could hear me just fine. Even my husband couldn't hear me at that level. The only problem we have is using the controls on the side. They are hard to see and almost impossible to use while wearing them. She had to ask us to adjust the volume for her. She said it was actually really loud and needed to turn them down because it sounded like I was shouting. I am convinced these would work just fine at the range. I have a smaller head for a woman, so they do fit me at the maximum size setting. I tested them for a minute and loved them. I don't have electronic hearing protection so I need to yell and struggle to hear everybody at the range. These are super nice. These use batteries instead of an internal rechargeable system. You can put rechargeable batteries in here if you wish. I love this because I can add spare batteries to the bag and know that it won't run out of power while we need it. You can change the batteries while wearing it, so your kids don't have to remove their protection if you are at the range or somewhere loud. It takes like 10 seconds. Very straightforward.

My daughter loves these earmuffs
I have an adult daughter that is quite small, so we were looking for a smaller sized earmuffs for hearing protection when she would work with power tools and go shooting with her dad. These definitely fit the bill. They are sized just right with a lot of adjustment options. My daughter has worn them for up to two hours at a time and said they are still very comfortable. They reduce the noice perfectly and with the added feature of voice control, you can still hear each other talking without being harmful to your hearing. It is very simple to get them into protection mode... the slightest sounds will do it. Overall, we highly recommend this set of earmuffs.

Great for Kids!

Fold up to be very small Adjustable Runs on 2 AAA Batteries (Included) and is Compatible with Caldwell's Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (Sold Seperately) Padded headband and ear cups Multiple color options Fair Price 23DB NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) I have used these in the gun range and found them to reduce the noise to a manageable amount and I am still able to hear people talking.

Good product
We use these for target practice. They require batteries. They have volume control and were decent at noise cancellation. Comfortable compared to others of their kind we already own.
