Great for action figures. But doesn’t work well in hot weather
Works well for acts figures. Just noticed this last week when it was really hot. Some of my standing figures have fallen over. But I can’t put much wax on the bottom of them. But my other stuff hasn’t moved. So I am still happy with it

Contrasting the company's different products
I'm combining reviews of the three related products from the same company, because being able to contrast the pro and cons (and intended use) of each, would have helped me when I bought them. First off, Museum Putty and Quakehold Putty are the same thing. It say so in the leaflet that come with it. They have two different names just to market to different users. They also make Quakehold Gel, and Museum Wax. Gel requires a sealed surface, and says not to use on wood. It is clear, and if you need to anchor a clear vase to a glass shelf, this is your product. I found it is also the most difficult to work with, so take that into account. It has a very slow motion ooze to it (like very, very thick honey), and I simply could not get it to stick to a crystal vase (to apply it directly to the vase) - I had to apply it to the shelf, and put the vase on it. Once I gave it time to "set" (and cleaned up the extra that oozed out), it did hold the vase well, and is virtually invisible. Wax is what you want for anchoring something to a wooden surface. It's a soft white color (translucent in a thin layer) that isn't obtrusive under most items. It's not hard like candle wax, it's soft, and feels like it's been liquified and whipped (incorporating air), then allowed to cool. I have no idea how they make it, I'm just talking about what it feels like. It's relatively easy to work with for the first few items, but if you are doing a lot, it gets somewhat annoying. Traces of wax stick to your fingers, and clings to the wax you are trying to attach to your item. Wipe(scrub) your fingers on paper towels in between, but eventually you'll need to wash your hands in water as hot as you can stand. It does come off. Putty is the easiest to work with. To me, it's something between cream and ivory colored, also unobtrusive under most items. Also needs a sealed surface. Though they say you can use it on finished wood, they also caution that it may lift the finish. Why risk it? Use the Museum Wax - people have been waxing wood for many centuries... I have used it on painted wood however, and it hasn't seemed to do any harm to that. I bought all of these about three months ago, and used them on the appropriate surfaces. I could live without the Gel (just don't need in in my circumstances) - I only found one place for it, but it's held well. On the other hand, the Wax and the Putty are two things I wish I'd found years ago! I have a litter of teenage cats that practically bounce off the walls when they are playing and chasing each other. Since I've used these stuff on nearly everything breakable within their reach, they have not managed to knock over a single thing! Vase/candleholder/picture frames/knicknacks/etc on tables, glass bottles on window sill, glass and ceramic food storage containers on the kitchen counters, the external hard drive on the desk, even the tippy charging stand for the headphones... (Once you start, you keep finding new uses.) One suggestion that is a bit different from the instructions, particularly with stuff that has a rimmed edge - rather than making small balls of the stuff, make small worms. You still space it out around the item (not the whole bottom nor whole perimeter), but it makes it easier to control, and less chance of some oozing out. Also, a little goes a long way. I've used perhaps a third of a jar of the Wax, and a bit more than three quarters of a packet of the Putty. I already have a spare packet of the putty though - I refuse to ever again be without a supply of both of these! Hope this helps!

Not “crystal clear”
Product works as expected. It’s a challenge to get out of the package with the wooden piece. It’s not clear as it states. It’s a cloudy color.

Great for items you don’t want to move ever
I had really high hopes for this. I thought this was going to solve my problem of my cat knocking over vases of flowers. So I tried this on the counter with a vase. It works fine, it’s hard to work with and a little messy and sticky. It does the job, I just don’t really want to use it because of how unpleasant this is to work with and then the cleanup when you don’t need it anymore feels so extra. Actually this would be great to stick down items you don’t really plan on moving onto a surface. If you need to regularly move the item, there might be a better solution than this museum wax.

Does the job
I used the wax to attach items to a small tray on my kitchen windowsill. Now when it's time to clean I only need to pick up 1 item not 4. Plus these treasures will stay safe.

Not that clear & leaves a residue, but works
It performs as it states in the video, but you can even see in the video that it isn't very clear. My batch had an even frostier appearance and a consistency more like thick icing than shown in the video. It's thinner than I expected; I anticipated it would be more the consistency of dental wax, but it is very sticky and a bit tough to form balls with. Maybe heat/hot weather in transport altered its performance? That said it is a generous amount, and my figures stay in place for the most part. Because of the consistency, it isnt thick enough to create supports for smaller figures, which is what I hoped it would do. You can't form balls with the batch I received as shown in the video. But the figures it could stick to stay put very well. It leaves behind a residue of wax and that wax can get inside untreated wood, but it is easily scraped or washed off sealed surfaces and can be removed with a paper towel on shiny surfaces. Probably great for glass shelves. And once again, you get a LOT of product.

I have been using this for decades to secure so many things
I love this stuff and simply do not understand the negative reviews. My friends all use it and love it. It is not clear, it is frost colored. So if you are using it to hold a clear glass get something else. I use it to hold vases, marble Christmas stocking holders, decor items, so many things. A small pea-grape size ball is all you need. Press the ball gently onto the item then press the item down firmly on the table, or whatever. Do not press so firm that you flatten out all the wax to be thin. It needs some thickness. The item wont move from kids or cats. I have some big heavy items where I uses 3 small balls. Dont use on brick or porous surfaces as it is hard to remove from the cracks.. To remove tilt the item and lift. Scrape up all the wax you can (it is reusable) and then buff off the rest with a paper towel. I have never had any issues. It is wax so don't use anyplace that gets warm. (practice with a drinking glass on your kitchen counter) The surfaces to not need to be super flat, just make sure you have some depth to the wax ball when you press it down. This wax can be helpful if you have a wavy surface that causes items to rock. It is wax, so soap and water is not going to remove it. Buff residue with a paper towel (scrape up what you can before buffing) I have tried other brands, some are super gooey. I like this one best.

Doesn’t work as advertised - it’s like Vaseline
Don’t waste your money on this. Perhaps a fake product this seems like a hair product or Vaseline, won’t hold anything, just makes a greasy mess. And the container came broken…

Works great
This works great! A little goes a long way - I wish they sold it in smaller containers!

Amazing hold on anything
I have this vent in my house that is over 100 years old and with the pins broken. we could never keep it held in until I found this wax. Works on keeping on my dash in my car. As well as a 55 inch TV on a moving stand. Little goes a long way.

I always keep this on hand
Anchors everything in place quickly and easily. From decor to candles, it protects against clumsy teenagers and willful cats! When I lost my last one, I immediately ordered this.

Stuck for life
This product is a miracle. I have never heard of it until now. I had a knife drawer that would not stay in place whenever I opened the drawer until I put a little nugget of this to the front and wala stuck for life. I will be using this little jar for many things and will be buying it again once this is all used. Good value for the money.
