Looks very modern and high quality but the plastic it's made out of feels too thin and doesn't seem like it would last very long. Specially the very thin plastic filter grill that holds the filter in place. It feels like it's going to break soon. They should've either made it with thicker plastic, or a metal alloy. Also, they should've made the speeds a little slower to reduce the noise level, it's a little on the loud side. Other than the build quality/materials, it does seem to filter pretty good, and the UV light and ionizer makes this filter better than most others around this price range. Over all, the features and filter are very good, but it would be better if it was made out of thicker more durable plastic or metal alloy.

Love! Medify Purifiers Don’t Disappoint!

The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love Medify air purifiers. This is my second purchase, I also have the MA-50 (which is in the main living area). I purchased the upgraded MA-40 on prime day for my home office. This is also where my litter robot resides for the cat, so having a purifier in there is important to help with odor control. I previously had a Winix 5500 in there, but it ultimately didn’t last and died a few weeks back. So the timing of the prime sale was perfect! This air purifier is modern and fits in perfectly with a contemporary environment. I would equate my aesthetic to an amalgamation of farmhouse/bohemian/mid-century modern. I like that it’s sleek and doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb. Traditional air purifiers tend to be a bit bulky, this is not. But! That’s not to say it lacks in power! This perfectly fits the expression of “small, but mighty”. You can tell these purifiers are effective. When sunlight streams in the room you don’t see dust particles in the air. I have two dogs and three cats and I swear that having quality purifiers eliminated my need for allergy medication (at least for most of the year - they don’t help with outside allergies!). In addition to being effective, one of the best features is that it’s QUIET! Even on the highest setting the purifier is more quiet than a traditional table fan. I included a video so you can hear the different settings. The video audio starts with the purifier on the highest speed setting, changes into to sleep mode, and then progresses back up to the highest setting. If I have any cons to this purifier, it would be that the genuine H14 filter replacements are a little pricey. They are presently $69 for one or $129 for two on Amazon. You get can them from the manufacturer directly as well. Pricing there is the same, but there is additional cost savings if you use their subscribe and save option - that reduces the cost of two filter replacements by 30% on your first order, bringing the total to $90.99. Future orders have a 10% discount ($116.99/2 pack). So there is a little cost savings to buying in bulk through their subscribe and save option. Shipping is free from the manufacturer, but it does take 5 to 7 days for your order to arrive. It’s funny how Amazon has created such high shipping expectations for us these days - anything that takes more than two days to arrive just seems so unreasonable! Anyway. I digress. I do want to point out though that, you must use genuine filter replacements and replace them, “at least once every four to five (4-5) months or after 3,000 hours of use (whichever comes first).” in order for the lifetime warranty to remain in effect. Lifetime warranty?! That’s pretty great and shows that this company stands behind their products. Just be sure to register your purifier on their website when it arrives (or at least within the first month) so they have your purchase on record. After 30 days, whether or not they honor it will be based on your proof of using genuine filter replacements since the original purchase date. Overall, if you’re looking for a high-quality air purifier, with options for both ionization UV light, you cannot go wrong with this Medify model. Medify purifiers as a whole are fantastic and the company stands behind their products. Five stars!

Worth it!

Let’s start off by saying I was looking for something to help with pet hair. I do vacuum daily but I just felt like the air was dirty. So I researched and went back and forth on different purifiers. Y’all this is perfect! It is a bit noisy.. sounds like a fan on low. But for folks like me.. it’s relaxing! Buy it!

Pretty loud fan

I find a lot of dust and debris on the filter when I change it so it works. I’d give it 5 stars if it was quieter.

HEPA H14 is noisy; get the H13

I had a Medify MA-40 unit in my office at work for two years. I can’t speak to the efficacy, as I had no way to measure how it was filtering the air; however, I can say that the unit was easy to work, sleek looking (especially the touch screen on the top) and quiet. It was unobtrusive during meetings and provided a subtle and relaxing white noise while I was working. I liked it so much that when I retired, I purchased one for my office at home. By that time, Medify had ‘improved’ the model by equipping it with a stronger fan motor so it could push air through a HEPA H14 filter (the original one that I had used at work was fitted with an HEPA H13 filter). The more powerful motor in the new unit has made it much more noisy and obtrusive. When visitors come over, I have to turn it off in order to carry on a conversation, and the noise distracts me when working. Had I known, I would have ordered the H13 model (which I believe is still available). When I need a new filter, I will try an H13, as it might cut down on some of the sound. For the minor increase in efficacy, I don’t think it’s worth getting the H14 model because of the major increase in noise.
