It's OKAY
The only live chuck I can find that accepts a 1/2" shank. Has a tiny bit of play but it does the job.

Cost effective, true running live tailstock drill chuck
Well constructed 3 jaw drill chuck, that runs true on it’s live tailstock bearing race. Makes it a simple process to create and use my own steel mandrels, in any diameter I need for my woodturning tasks.

Good tool.
Every lathe owner should have one.

Muy robusto y materiales de excelente calidad.
Excelente calidad de producto, lo uso para sostener un apéndice móvil de una pieza mientras le doy forma en el torno a la pieza y cumple su función de maravilla.

Well made of high quality
This does just what it is designed to do. Properly machined without rough edges.

Good item for the price
Holding work in a metal lathe

Works as advertised.
This works great for supporting small turnings.

Almost perfect!
Solid! Superb smooth ball races; turns incredibly freely and smoothly, with no slack whatsoever. The drill chuck is a little rough to open and close, but has no visible runout with 6" long drill chucked in it, (so maintains absolute centring). Only deficit is that the MT-2 tapered stem is slightly too short to make contact with the automatic release in the tailstock, and the end is not tapped, (as is sometimes done), to accept a short bolt or stud to make it slightly longer. I turned a little metal bead, with a stub stem to fit into the hole in the end of the stem, and glued it in place. Works perfectly. Highly recommended, and excellent value for the money. And an excellent way to create a live centre to accept turnings with a centre hole about which to turn, (in my case, spinning wheel bobbins).

Take a chance and see if your a winner
Certainly not a precision chuck. There is 10 thousands runout on mine. Probably fine for a wood lathe but not for a metal lathe. It appears most of the run out is in the chuck itself so I am hoping replacing the poor quality chuck with something better will make it useable for my purposes. Buy Chinese tooling and take a chance, you might be luckier than me.
