Great little step-over gate for small pets!

I had bought the Carlson step-over gate that came with a small extension to put across my kid's bedrooms to keep the dogs out, since they were the only rooms with carpet, and they were great for that. The gate is low enough that even my 4 year old can step over and it keeps the dogs (and her one year old baby sister) out of her room. But we had to take the gate down from the baby's room so that she can walk in and out and we already have issues with the dogs going on the carpet. So I decided that I want to keep the dogs in the kitchen most of the time, unless we are all home to watch them. I bought this 24" extension to use with the gate, and its perfect for the 44.5" space that I needed the gate to go across. I had to take off the grey plastic part that you spin to tighten it and use the rubber end stoppers without them, because it was a really tight fit and the gate would've been too long with them. I only used one, on the end that goes up under the cabinets. One of my chihuahuas had been able to squeeze herself through that space under our previous wooden gate, so that fixed her little red wagon! I think they could jump over it if they tried, they just haven't figured it out yet. So, so far, this gate is perfect for what I needed it for! Buying this extension for around $20 saved me from having to buy a whole new gate. I love the versatility of the different sized extensions they sell to go with the original gate!

Extension Gate is only one piece

I was expecting this extension piece to be an additional 2 to 3 connectable sections that can be added onto the original gate. It is one whole 24 Inch gate extension... So because it is only one piece, I can not properly use it as it is too long with the original gate to fit in the doorway I purchased it for. So with this not being adjustable in anyway, its less than useful... I'll have to literally cut off a section it to make it work properly, interconnecting with the other pieces. Until then, I have it zip tied together to the right length for my doorway.

A great extra wide option

This is my third gate, in a desperate effort to keep my chiweenie off the carpet and in the kitchen. The first gate was a $10 wooden gate that would hardly span a standard doorway, and the second one was a "wide" safety gate that was two inches from being perfect. After wasting so much time and money, I finally found this mini gate with a 24" extension, which came out to be about $40--not bad at all compared to other extra wide gates. I only needed to use one of the other extensions included in the standard pet gate for a 5' opening. I was worried about the pet door since my dog is so tiny, but so far she hasn't figured out how to work it, or how to jump over the gate. I completely disregarded the packet with the screws, since I'm renting, but the gate seems sturdy on it's own. I was worried about the extensions falling off, but they seem secure with the gate mounted tightly. If you need a wide pet gate and have a small dog, I'd recommend this one.

Works good with the gate it goes to

Love the height of this for our corgi pup. Easy for us to walk over and keeps her contained. Works great. The little door on the gate this extension goes to is great too.

Great pet gate for small dogs

This is a great gate option for those with small dogs and doorways that are wider than the traditional baby gate. The mini-pet gate has a built in pet door that is a great option for owners that do not always want to contain their pet. The gate is sturdy and easy to install with no tools needed.

Otherwise I like it.

Works well besides the space between the wall and first rod. Had to put a pillow between the space so my dog couldn't squeeze out. Otherwise I like it.

Perfect fix

My doorway is pretty big so I needed to get the extension for the gate and it works great. I now have a gate that's the perfect width.

Ojo. Si la distancia a cubrir es más larga que la medida standard las piezas no son fáciles de combinar si compras las extensiones de complemento. Termine por no utilizarla…
