I have been using these for 40 years; this kit comes with all the levels of hard and soft lead. The storage container is a plus.

No quality issues with my set

I've been using Prismacolor pencils for 10+ years. I read the reviews and I was really surprised by how poor some of them where. There's no marking on the box I received for me to know if mine are US or Mexico produced. They have a four digit code and other's have suggested these are produced in Mexico. There is definitely a noticeable difference in the shades between each pencil. The contrast between B's and the H's obviously being the most visible. The contrast among each shade of the B's is the least visible, they are the most similar and hard to distinguish among. The contrast in shade between each shade of the H's is more visible that the contrast between each of the B's. I would like to see more contrast in the B's. I bought a Prismacolor Ebony pencil for darker shading. (See photos) I will say that I have a few older, warn out, and very used Prismacolor turquoise pencils and they do have a smoother clean finish. These new ones are slightly grainier. That being said, for me, had I not read the reviews I would not have noticed. I didn't have any problems sharpening my pencils. My lead wasn't off center and didn't contain bubble pockets of missing lead. The wood on my pencils don't chip when I sharpen them. I bought my daughter a cheaper set of pencils at the craft store called Artist's Loft. I can tell that the Prismacolor pencils are superior to this brand. The Prismacolor lead is smoother than these pencils and erases easier. I've not tried some of the other pencils listed in other's reviews. I will definitely check out the other brands to see how they compare. The Faber-Castell aren't significantly more expensive so if they are leaps and bounds better than Prismacolor I will update my review.

It arrives in a perfect state

Im from colombia, and I'm happy to use this kind of pencils, theres no shops which sells this product, I got both products, and them are so soft, reliable at the moment to make a line, they have really good quality, i'm happy, I believe that I could try buying it again

Great Pencils Worth the purchase!

I am enjoying these. My life is an interesting story. I am an artist at 40. Got to start somewhere. Reproductions and cartoons are my favorite. I had started with store bought brand that was a step better than a pack of dollar store pencils. My collection has grown over the last year and now includes this set. I have only tested them and not completely drawn anything out. Once I do I will post a completed drawing. These are smooth, easy to erase, multiple leads ( hardness'), and easy to sharpen. Mine came in the tin and all sharpened very well. I had no issues with splintering nor leads breaking. The Turquoise color of the pencils make it so I can identify these quite quickly in my roll. They have a silver imprint of the hardness/softness at the end of each pencil.

I got this for my sister’s birthday bc she’s a huge drawer but she said she enjoyed the variety of thickness they have.

Very lightweight, confusing 2B

The media could not be loaded. The pencils arrived ok, although they seemed to have a dusty film over the pencil. Once sharpened I discovered that they are very light, there’s no weight to them and - the 2B pencil is incorrectly labelled. There is no way this is a 2B, it’s more like a 2H. The B pencil is actually softer!

My one and only

These are by far my favourite pencils I’ve tried. I’ve done sketching and drawing for many years and I haven’t tried these until a couple years ago. Compared to Derwent or other brands, I always find myself buying these again. Here’s an example of a recent-ish drawing I’ve done. For the fine details I used a 0.3 mm staedler mechanical pencil and the shading part was this product.

Bad quality control.

It arrived wrapped in plastic no dents looked good until I opened it... you can clearly see in the photos I’ve provided that the quality looks horrible... dents, chips and scratches. But the looks of it I’m not expecting them to hold up...

Probably good for beginners

A lot of people are saying these are poor quality but as an artist just starting off if you compare them to regular HB pencils (and I know a lot of artists who still use them), these feel a lot better and create smoother lines. I only wish it would include a 9h pencil but beggers can't be choosers lol. I've just ordered a set of derwent pencils as well to compare, so we'll see.. I wish you could order single pencils at a reasonable price, perhaps as an Amazon addon item.
