Exact fit for my builder installed cabinets
These matched my broken shelf hooks from my builder installed cabinets. Saved me a ton of time trying to figure out another way to hold the shelves up.

Get the right size- no problems
So, I leaned on a shelf in the cupboard a little too firmly and snapped a peg off. My first thought was, "Great, where do I get one of these with the proper specs?" Then I noticed the US patent number was on the one that I broken. I Googled the patent number and that brought me right to these. That meant I did not have to do any measuring. :) I don't know if it is normal to find the patent number on cupboard pegs, but look for it on the one you are replacing. Some folks have wondered about installation, others have given complex directions. It is not meant to be complex. Move the shelf up a couple inches if you are only replacing one, or hold it above if you are replacing all, stick the peg(s) in the hole(s) with the shelf a couple inches above the peg(s), and then just let it slide down till it rests on the peg. That's it, nothing else required. They are self-locking when you bring the shelf down on them from above. If you are working alone, doing all of them, and don't have enough hands: take the shelf out, put the pegs in the holes, tape them in place, insert the shelf into the cupboard a couple inches above the pegs, slide it down, and then pull the tape off. Some things are complicated, these are not. Unluckily for me, I snapped the old peg off flush with the top the hole and could not put the new one in. I tried to get the piece out with a small screwdriver, nope. I had to carefully drill the plastic out with a bit slightly smaller than the peg. If you have this problem and you are not good with a drill, get someone who is. Otherwise, you might get a hole all the way through the side of your cupboard. There is not a lot of room for error. If you are buying a bag of four, then they are going to be more expensive each than if you are buying 20. If you need more than four, keep looking for a bigger bag. I only needed one so I was OK with spending $4 to get 4 pegs. Now I have three spares. They would have been less each if I had purchased a larger bag, but I don't need 19 spares.

Be sure to measure thickness of shelf. Works best on correct size shelf.
A bit hard to push release tab when removing shelf. Pin that goes on drilled out hole has a rib on it that makes it hard to get in hole

Easy to install
I'm pleased with these shelf pegs. I purchased the 5/8" high bracket to fit my shelves and it fits perfectly. Easy and hassle free installation. The one issue I found is that the peg diameter is slightly more than 1/8" (3/16"?) and the drilled holes in my cabinets are 1/4". So finding myself in a "make it work" moment, I carefully and tightly wrapped the peg with a 2" length of blue painters tape cut to the length of the peg. This was enough to provide a snug fit in the peg hole to hold the shelf securely. I will buy more of these for my kitchen and bath cabinets. For any purchaser, be sure to check the thickness of the shelf you are installing. I made the mistake initially of purchased pegs for a 1/2" shelf without paying attention and that mistake only ended in heaps of frustration. Be sure the buy the pegs suitable to accommodate your shelf thickness!
