Great price

Does exactly what I need it to. In this case I used this to hide an old phone jack hole after I took off the face plate. The adhesive unfortunately doesn't seem to hold so well, but to be fair the surface it's being used on isn't completely flat. Another thing I noticed was alot of people complaining about the adhesive and accidently peeling it off, so with that in mind I ended up over compensating and complicating something that was actually reasonably easy to do. Start by picking in a corner, if you peel and it's papery and not adhesive you may not have peeled low enough to actually take the top paper off. Obviously you don't want to tear the bases off of the cover either lol.. Very content with this purchase

It works!--but be wary of the increasing price

I bought this for two reasons--the obvious one was to protect my wall from the doorknob. Also, I bought it to hide my bad attempt at repairing the wall from previous collisions with the doorknob. This product worked well for both purposes. It was very easy to attach and so far it sticks to the wall very well. HOWEVER...I will warn you that, after I bought this product, the price was more than doubled. I bought it for $2.30, then the price went up to $5.75. You can find it at a much better price from other retailers (like Home Depot, where I went to buy more of these after the price went up).

Easy solution for our rental

The tenants left us a nice hole in the wall and we needed to cover it. Instead of patching it (again), we decided to use this amazing solution. It has large coverage (5 inches) and allowed me to cover the entire hole and it was on there really good. To enhance the long-term effectiveness, I also added one of these mirror brackets to the side to hold it on. I was so happy to find this solution and the speedy shipping was the icing on the cake.

Protects and repairs hollow-core doors, too.

I bought two of these to patch holes that heavy, outside-entry doors made in hollow, interior doors. They work well, but be ready for two minor problems: (1) Removing the protective backing from the seven adhesive pads is difficult; sometimes the adhesive comes off with the backing, so have some double-sided carpet tape handy. (2) The adhesive pads are at least 1/16-inch thick, so you will see a gap between the shield and the surface that it’s protecting.

Be careful not to peel into the adhesive

So perfect. It was exactly what I needed. The backing of the adhesive tape does NOT come off easily. So it is really easy to accidentally tear into the foam which would ruin the product.

I had an alternate use for this

I had purchased these before as wall protectors, but this time, I ordered it for another reason. We had disconnected an old hard-wired smoke detector. After turning off the fuse, capping the wires, and putting them back in the junction box, I used this to cover the hole in the wall. It was much less expensive than the products that are specifically designed for this purpose. There are a lot of adhesive tabs, so it secured very easily, but I know I could remove it if I really need to. In the meantime, it's staying put. I then painted it to match the wall, and it worked beautifully.
