Good quality bird ladder

Bought this for our cocktail who loves to chew her ladders. This one is sturdier & thicker than the ones I find at my local pet stores. Our bird loves it and its holding up to her chewing very well. It cost more than the pet store ladders but the durability is such that the cost is fair. Its no easier or harder to clean than the others; bird poo is sticky and hard to clean once dry.

Deadly to Birds

I bought this ladder and it nearly killed my bird from toxic paint lead poisoning and I am writing to warn anyone who considers this an option TO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I didnt even think this could be dangerous considering it is being sold for birds but my parrot became so ill and was hospitalized for 12 days. I brought him home and within a couple days he was having seizures again from this ladder. I looked desperately on line about what this could be from and I found an article and blog about dangerous bird toys from China tat are painted with paint. Bird toys are suppose to be wood soaked and colored by food coloring not paint. When I took this ladder out it was hard to tell at first but then I noticed red paint on the metal hooks at the top of the ladder. I am so disgusted that these products are being sold and that I endangered my bird. I have had her since birth for 16 years and never any health issues until I put this ladder in her cage. She was better when she came home from the hospital after 12 days but as soon as she was put back in her cage and exposed to thus ladder sitting on it and chewing it she started again with the odd behavior, ripped all her feathers out and started batting her wings against her body and shaking. This is toxic lead poisoning. Protect your birds and only buy American all natural bird toys!

This is a really nice ladder. I love the quality

This is a really nice ladder. I love the quality, but my arthritic cockatiel isn't as enthusiastic. I have moved it to a position from the floor to his cage to pretty much keep him from wandering. He doesn't like to maneuver the thick bars. I had gotten it for leaning on a mirror, but he can't use it well enough. So it is now on the outside of his cage, which he could go up and down easily with the medium thick one. I moved the medium thickness one from the cage to the mirror. I can't find more of the medium thick ladders anywhere. There are thin and this thick one. He chews the thin ones too quickly. I thought this thick on would work. For a bigger bird or a younger cockatiel, I think it would be great.

My cockatiel loves it!

I bought a bigger cage for my cockatiel and I wanted a lather ladder. This fit the cage and him perfectly.

Sturdy and Fun!

My green cheeked conure loves this ladder. It's pretty large, which is perfect for him to use getting down from his playground on a small table to the floor, or as a bridge from his cage to our couch. The rungs aren't too thick for him though. My only slight criticism is that some of the paint wears away if I have to scrub away a dried poop, but I don't think there's much help for that!

Dye Nightmare

As many bird owners know, toy sellers love to dip wooden bird toys in cheap dyes. This ladder is pretty much your average bird ladder for a big cage, but the dye is an absolute nightmare. I use a gentle, natural spray for removing dried bird droppings. When I spot cleaned I noticed how badly the dye was running, so I removed the entire ladder, took it to the sink, and used plain water. The dye started coming off and it didn't stop. My hands were stained red, the sink was red, my birds beak was red and now I know why. Do yourself a favor and get an natural colored ladder for your birds. These cheap dyes are an utter pain.
