Hermit crabs love these!

I bought this for my hermit crabs a while back and they use it so much now! I always catch them climbing inside. I was scared they wouldn’t use it much but that’s no problem.

Great For My Parakeet

People, please tell us what kind of bird you have when you publish a review!! The person giving a one-star review said their bird chewed through the rope bridge, right away. What was it, a parrot? I have a parakeet, and I've studied the construction, and there's no way he'll chew through it. This is such an adorable accessory to his cage. I prefer natural stuff (non-plastic) in my own life, so its nice to find something like this for my parakeet. Did I mention I have a parakeet? He was scared of it, at first, I think because it sways when he lands on it. I started putting his millet sprays inside the coconut, and now he goes to it quite often. Hint: use millet sprays to entice your birdie to any new toys! It is a fairly large item, so I think small cages may not be compatible with it. It is adorably hung from the roof of my tall cage, and I can't wait to hear people comment on it. I bet I hear "spoiled bird" mentioned a lot. LOL Use millet seed sprays, and I'm sure you'll like having this, too. UPDATE: I now have two parakeets. The new one, a one-month old, hopped right on the rope bridge and went all the way inside the coconut his first day in the cage! My other one never goes all the way into the coconut. He sits on the doorway and reaches in to eat the millet seeds, always pulling his head out in between seeds to look around. So, it has a lot to do with personality! It's cute how bold and unafraid the new bird is, but of course the more timid one would last a lot longer in the wild. Anyway, your bird might be shy of new toys because it's his/her nature. Remember to use the millet sprays.

Nice Decoration

Google, the lizard, climbed up to it, sat on top but hasn’t ventured inside. Okay, it’s fine. I have pleased with the quality of the product. It’s nice to have.

Great accessory for My Budgie Rocky!

The media could not be loaded. I just received this for Rocky and I think I was just as excited as he is now! I placed it in his cage and he has been playing with it since! I don’t think he can comfortably fit it in but he has been very curious and seems extremely happy! He has been pecking at it and exploring every angle of it including the top of the hut! Package came on time, and it had fewer steps than in the photo mine came with 5 and the diameter of the hole top to bottom is about 2 inches and he width closer to 3 I had to modify the rope that came with it and I thoroughly inspected it I always supervise Rocky with new toys. I gave four stars because for the price I think it’s great! And there isn’t 3 and a half I would have given because I had to modify it before placing it in the cage.

Great for small birds (budgies)

I've got a couple of budgies, and they enjoy this product. They don't really go inside so I find it's a good place to hide some treats for them to discover later, just for a bit of foraging enrichment. What they really like is the fibers around the outside of the coconut. They love to tear them off and make a big mess, and generally speaking, a messy bird is a happy bird. My birds can be picky, they seem to like things randomly, so it makes me feel happy when I give them something that they seem to enjoy playing with. As for size, it's pretty big and if you have a small cage it'll take up a lot of real-estate. But If you properly care for your birds and have a nice, spacious cage for them, this will be a nice addition. I'd say it's a perfect size for budgies or any similarly sized birds, and even so, while they can go inside, it's not really big enough to accommodate their tails. If you're looking for a hidey-hole or nesting spot for your birds, you might want to consider that. Overall it's a nice addition and looks cool!

Too small for my curious rats, but nice concept

I have mixed feelings about this. While it is great to look at and the concept is good, I can't use it for its intended purpose. I should note that I bought this for my rat cage (I have two adult females) after reading reviews that some users could use it as such. Pros: I love the design. It is really cute, feels natural and the rope is strong enough that I don't think my rats will chew through it. It looks inviting and when I introduced it, both my rats were curious and went for it right away, trying to sit inside. The hide is textured (like a coconut naturally is) and could be good for chewing or filing their nails. Cons: It is smaller than it looks. My adult females are average sized (perhaps slightly overweight, but they've been exercising) and they can only fit half their body inside. The female who tried couldn't get her rear end and tail inside so she had to back out and hasn't tried since. Maybe they could fit if they squeezed (I mean, they love to try and climb into/ up my sleeves) but the sphere might be misleading them too. The rope ladder is also much shorter than in the picture. The picture looks like 8 pegs/sticks are used but mine only came with 4. This wasn't as huge of a deal as the size of the coconut, but buyers should be aware if they're planning to have multiple animals try to sit on it. Overall, I would not buy this product again, had I been more aware of the size, but I'll still probably keep it for decoration or for a baby rat if I get one (they would certainly fit).
