It presses the bacon well

01-2022: I've used it many times over the past year & want to increase the rating from 3 to 5 stars. Though the handle does flop over, I did figure out that one of the ways it flops has a built in 'stop' to prevent it from laying down flat. I have appreciated the fact that the handle does flop flat the other way as it doesn't take up as much storage space. I really like that it's cast iron & is easy to clean. 12-2020: It does press the bacon, but the handle flops to the side way too far, gets hot & a little greasy. If I find another that is the same size with a stand up handle, I'll order it, but till then, this one will have to do.

I love this press!

We only use this on the stove top (not in the oven). We have not had much of a problem with the handle flopping over as some have commented. There is a notch on one side of the two places where the handle is inserted that prevent the handle from laying clear down onto the press on one side. We always use a potholder just to be safe, but I have checked it and the handle has never been hot to the touch. The press keeps your bacon nice and flat and helps it to cook faster (so check it regularly!). As some have mentioned, bacon strips are longer than the press, but I lift and reposition the press a couple of times, which really helps-as the bacon shrinks a little with cooking. I love this press.

Love this!

Even though I sometimes wish that it was round like my CI pans... I still use it in my larger skillets. I also use it in some of my other pans when I make grilled type sandwiches. The extra weight pushing down on the bread and ingredients really makes the finish more like a panini. So yum!! ;)

Smashburgers at Home

Works well for making single hamburger, makes a great smashburger, handle is somewhat unstable so you have to use caution when applying pressure.

Great Press!!

Press is good and heavy, and it is big enough to cook almost an entire strip of bacon lengthwise. You can fit 3 strips under this at a time. It is even heavy enough to use on a thick steak. Pre-seasoned and ready to go! Love it so much I bought 2!
