I almost didn't buy due to some reviews stating it arrives broken. Although I can see how the wire rack could break easily I haven't had any issues. I've probably cooked more than 100 legs on this rack and have even purchase a second one.

Great for brats and hotdogs too!
My first set of chicken legs came out overdone on the outside, and not so done on the inside. That being said, I'm going to chalk that up to operator error more than the fault of the product itself. Next time I'll play with the grill temperature and charcoal shelf variables and see if that gives better results. Bet it does. Great tip from another reviewer deeper into the posts that might get missed: If you think that the knuckles on the legs might allow them to slip through after grilling shrinkage? Wrap the ends in aluminum foil. Works great! You'll probably only need to do this for the smaller legs in the set. Most of mine hung in there just fine - especially if your rotate the legs so that bigger part of the knuckle overlaps the slot. I'm giving the Kooker 5 stars because it dawned on my today this might be a great way to cook hotdogs and brats too - which I end up nearly always over cooking on the outside. Today? The hotdogs were a nice deep brown outside with a hot center and few small, black grill marks where they were resting on the Kooker top. Much better results than on-the-top grilling of the same. Because the Kooker was so high up off the grill plates I thought the brats might need a higher charcoal level so I scorched them a bit by raising the tray too much after collecting the hotdogs, but again, I'll figure out the perfect height (and cook time) through trial and error. A bonus: Since the top of the Kooker slops slightly inward? The hot dogs and brats turn easily with a fork for even cooking without falling off. Excellent! New idea? I think I'll skewer the hotdogs and brats next time with tooth picks and hang them like the chicken legs do and see how that works! Cleaning: Not too tough really. Just flip er' upside down onto a cooking pan filled with soapy water, soak a bit. Mine cleaned up pretty easily that way. Another tip: Save a double-loafed bread bag from Sams - it's the one that covers both of the loaves, not the "normal" sized bag on the loaf itself - or recycle one of similar size and shape. The Sam's solution worked perfect for storage of the Kooker!

Best chicken legs ever! So easy !
This thing has changed our way of cooking and the price is great. We tried it the first time & never looked back. No flipping, turning, worrying about burnt spots. The legs cook perfectly even with the perfect crunch all the way around. Everyone needs one of these !!!!

Should have bought one sooner!
This product worked out wonderfully on the grill! We used it to make chicken legs, and it came out super crispy, yet the chicken inside was very tender. Can't wait to try it in the oven during the winter months!

This is my second rack. It had problems that the first one didn't
I bought my first King Kooker 3 years ago. We've been using it weekly, in the oven, and the legs never fall off, even when coated in bacon grease. This rack is still working great. So I tried the rack with chicken legs in he smoker. Man, they tasted great! So, you guessed it, I need another rack for more chicken. The first time we used the new rack, the legs just kept sliding off. Bizarre! When I compared it to the old rack I noticed that the top was straight and level. The original rack had the leg holders angled down toward the inside. That's why the legs didn't fall off.

Wings, Drummies, Drumsticks, Flats, and more
Being mindful that terminology can change from region to region, and among subcultures, I'll try and describe what I mean by certain terms. To me, a "drumstick" is that part of the chicken associated with the legs. A "drummie" is that small drumstick shaped piece attached to the wing. The wing portion itself is a "flat". The term "wing" refers to the drummie and flat together. Your terminology may vary. Please keep in mind that King Kooker does not state this is made for "drummies". That was an erroneous assumption on my part. I bought this rack because I saw an identical (or very similar) product on Amazon that was described as being good for "drummies", but I wanted the chrome version. Wrong! Dummies cannot attach to this rack. You might try balancing them on top or tying them on, but they will not hang upside down as shown in the photos. Those are full-size drumsticks (legs) in the photos. So here is a breakdown of my evaluation of this rack: Drummies: 1 star (it will not work) Wing Flats: 4 stars (works good but requires some balancing) Wings Flats with Drummies attached: 5 stars (works great!) Drumsticks (legs): 5 stars (works great!) My solution for the drummies was to get the King Kooker 36JR Stainless-Steel 36-Hole Jalapeno Popper Rack. They fit perfectly in the little holes and I can make 36 drummies at a time. NICE! Overall, I like King Kooker products. Affordable quality and very easy to clean. Be sure to spray them with cooking spray before cooking and they will clean right up!

Works well, just not sure I liked the results.
Bought this after recommendation on TSPC.co I have used it once for legs so far. Not sure if it was the chicken or this method of air cooking but the skin was super tuff and chewy, to the point the dogs got the skin. Also it didn't seem to crisp up and it didn't brown much. Sort of an unappetizing brownish yellow. Now the meat underneath was excepteonally juicy and tasy. Again was it the chicken or the King Kooker. Other thing was that Id set it in an aluminum pan to catch dripping as was worried i might get a grease fire. Maybe that lead to the issues i saw. Clean up was pretty easy but I did spray it down with grill spray before I loaded the legs. So unit works as advertised, just not sure if I did somerhing wrong. Definitely will try again.

Mmmm drummies!
Great product. Worked perfectly with my load of drum sticks. Finished product was moist and crispy, better that a tray! None fell off or escaped. They all hung well, even while brushing on the sauce!!!

Great for full wings, OK for legs.
Works very well for full wings, but then, they will hang over just about anything. If you buy large chicken legs, this rack is ideal, "normal" legs will initially fit, but as they cook and shrink, will fall out, defeating the purpose of the rack. Makes for a super easy cook with no turning or flipping and very even cooking, provided the legs are large enough to stay in the rack.

If you're a big fan of BBQ wings & drumsticks, this rack, is by far, the best one on the market, and I've tried several, Re-ordering another one, just to have as a spare, in case production is ever discontinued !!!!!
