Your man ego will take this hit
NORPRO 5537 STAINLESS STEEL COFFEE SCOOP, 2 TABLESPOON Yeah, I know, you're thinking of spending several of your hard earned dollars on a special spoon for measuring coffee grounds. How did you come to *this*? Our forefathers just dumped their coffee grounds into a campfire and waited for a rain storm before they could enjoy coffee. And they liked it! But you're going to buy a special spoon to delicately scoop pre-ground coffee from one of those high-end bags (No canister of Folgers for you!) then place it in the filter basket of your counter-top drip electric coffeemaker, to be supplied with bottled spring water. Pansy. But. Look. You're not. This spoon is a *tool*. Yes. Once you see that this finely forged stainless steel spoon, with finely-crafted half-dome bowl and weldless handle with utility hook hanging hole) is better seen as a tool, you can let them drop back down a little. Just put up some brown pegboard in your kitchen and you're set. Men use tools. Men use tools to get what they want, and men need coffee in the morning to perk you up and calm you down and get 'er done. This tool gets the job done better than other small bowl-things on handles, like your mommy's tea spoon, or the cheap plastic scoop you get in a can of Folgers (probably made in China with lead-based polymer additives). Not this possibly-American made feat of engineering. The long handle lets you get all the grounds from the bottom of the bag, with ease. Saves money, saves time. Helps you lower your bids and get more jobs. A man's coffee spoon is not just a spoon. Its a tool. It is yours. The volume is the perfect size for one cup's worth of grounds. Yeah, you're going to use 4 scoops. But if you have a good tool you want to use it at least four times just to marvel at its perfection. So shed a fond tear for your forefathers, and scoop one for them. So get this tool. Be a man. Drink coffee.

Great basic stainless steel coffee scoop
I don't usually write reviews however after reading review on other coffee scoops I wanted to shed some light on the quality of this particular scoop. I love this stainless steel coffee scoop and the quality is excellent. It appears to be stamped out of one piece of stainless steel with no welding so I am sure this scoop will last a lifetime. The metal itself is shiny and thick and the scoop feels heavy but not too heavy like the one I saw at Williams-Sonoma. The scoop is perfectly shaped with a nice long handle and deep round bowl, no rough or sharp edges, just the perfect size. The one I saw at W-S was a bit on the bulky side, this one is not. The overall length is quite long enough to get the last bit of coffee out of a bag or large can and its easy to scoop out 2T and shake to level if thats what you want or scoop out a heaping 2T+. The top of the scoop has no markings and on the underside of the handle it says "2 tablespoons". Nice fit and finish, smooth, shiny, and clean. It came attached to a small piece of cardboard as you would find the product hanging in a department store. Two small plastic-coated twist ties held it onto the cardboard backing, that's it. Good enough packaging for this sturdy scoop. The scoop is not fragile at all and seems to be able to hold up to any amount of abuse either in shipping or at home. I would recommend this scoop to anyone looking for a basic sturdy well made coffee scoop. The picture of the product does not do it justice and if I can find the time I will add a photo or two.

Just what I was hoping for
I had ordered another coffee measuring spoon and used it for several months, but the handle was just too short. I had previously owned a Starbucks measuring spoon. This new one is just as nice as the Starbucks measuring spoon. So glad I bought it! Sturdy and beautifully finished and the longer handle I wanted! The measurement is correct as well. I highly recommend it!

Clean, easy way to extract coffee from the bag
My headline says it all. It's a very well made tool.

Simply great item
I left my old Starbucks long handled coffee scoop at my kids house last visit. I needed a good replacement until I can retrieve my old coffee scoop. This scoop pulls the perfect rounded mound of coffee for my daily pour-over every time. Better than my old standby scoop. It is all the things said; sturdy, accurate, and easy to clean. And it was inexpensive. Unless you expect it to be real silver, you won't be disappointed.

Accurate measure, nice long handle. Love it.
First thing I did was to measure the scoop. It is a full two tablespoons. The quality is good, the stainless is just as thick as the other high quality stainless measuring spoons I have. The long handle makes reaching into the bottom of a jar or bag easy. One odd thing is that measuring spoons have the brand and size stamped on the top side of the handle where its easy to see, but this one has the brand and size stamped on the bottom side of the handle. Realizing that this is really an accurate 2 tablespoon measuring spoon, I put it on the ring with my stainless measuring spoon set where it will get more use than just scooping coffee, and not get lost. Nice long handle, really does hold two measured tablespoons, is heavy gauge stainless, and a low price. I'm happy.

Comparison between scoops
It was a gift and was just what the recipient wanted (or said). So, great. I had hoped for a heavier metal (stainless steel) and a more flat than rounded bottom (just because I prefer the "bucket" style measure), but it did have the long handle. Just for the record, you can buy almost the same item at Walmart for way less $ (about half), but their handles are put on with a rivet, rather than molded in one piece, so not as good---but if you're not going to bat rocks with it, what the heck? I would probably have settled for the cheaper model at Walmart (which I have one of). It seems to be the same weight metal and is also SS material. The only reason I opted for the more expensive one was it LOOKS like the superior quality flat bottom measure in the picture (notice no "side view" to give away the fact that the bottom is rounded. It is a deceptive photo.
