Inconsistency in Product Quality

I have had this same double diner in purple, and it has lasted for about 5 years. I changed up the color, and I'm surprised at the difference. I ignored the comments on here about peeling coatings and decided to try it anyway. I think my problem is that it's scratching off -- dog teeth, claws, sliding on the floor, touching the wire stand -- any contact with another surface causes the anodizing to scratch and the silver shows through. I don't think mine are a health hazard in their current state, but they began to look awful within a few days. A few other comments. I purchased 2 of these, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the stand had a little package of protective feet that could be installed. I assumed it was a product improvement, because my old ones didn't have them. But when I opened the second box, no feet. Very poor quality control, in my opinion. I'm not a fan of the rubber gaskets to keep the bowls quiet. They don't stay on well. The ones on the food bowls are already long gone. I kept them on the water bowls, but they have a sloppy fit and are causing hard water buildup on the edge of the bowls, making them look worse than they already do. I'm going to toss the other two gaskets. The rattling of the bowls doesn't bother me, and it's how the older ones were. The reality is, I will probably continue to use these, but I'll probably have to replace the bowls soon. For what I paid for these, that shouldn't be the case.

While not 100% I feel better knowing that he is gulping less and his chances ...

We recently had a bit of a scare with my moose dog in which we thought he had bloat. Turns out he ate a stuffed animal. $2800 surgery later, the fear was enough that I wanted him to have raised bowls that slowed down his eating as insurance against the dreaded bloat. These bowls slow him down significantly. I haven't timed him, but what was an inhale before now requires at least a couple of dedicated minutes. While not 100% I feel better knowing that he is gulping less and his chances of bloating are smaller. Dishwasher easy to clean, not noisy in the frame. All the way around I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend the set. For reference, I ordered this in copper vein and the above referenced moose dog is somewhere between an irish wolfhound, lab and poodle. Approximately 80lbs without the fur. I paid full price for this item and wasn't compensated in any way but would appreciate a "yes" click if you found my review helpful :)

Poor quality, packaging for the price

Poor packaging. C'mon Amazon, do you want your items arriving damaged???? Putting it in a box with one crumpled piece of paper??! This is plain sloppy. Not sure I like these. The rubber edges don't fit tightly and the stand sits unevenly on the floor. It will probably go back - probably the same way I received it.

Works as Expected

I purchased this bowl combo to help slow my dog's eating habits and stop him from inhaling his food. The raised slow feeder works well, but it's a bit shallow (2 cups of food fills it up completely). The water dish could stand to be bigger too, so I might just swap out the bowl for a larger bucket. I do like that the bowls are stainless because I can run them through the dishwasher when needed. All in all though, it works as expected and it was cheaper online than comparable products from the box pet stores.

I love these bowls for my pup

I love these bowls for my pup. She's a fast eater and it helps slow her down a bit. I do wish that the set came with 2 slow-eating bowls instead of one though because she drinks her water too fast as well. Also the little rubber tips came off easily and the set came with one missing so I just took them all off. All in all, it was worth the price. Other sites wanted $60 or more. I got this one for under $25.

yes and no...

Great height for my large dog, however, the bowls clang around in the diner when the dog is eating. It would be nice if the fit was more snug since my dog has to snuffle around the bowl to eat she ends up almost dislodging it from the feeder. My ceramic bowls work better in this since they are heavier.

We love this set for our pup and think it will ...

We love this set for our pup and think it will be a lot more effective once he's a little older. Two of the rubber feet were missing so it rocks back and forth when he eats or drinks from the bowls. It would be perfect if these feet weren't missing.

Paint Peeling!

Update: Platinum Pets is sending me a replacement bowl. Powder coating bubbled and is peeling off... which means my dog ate some of it. Very disappointed in the quality. I wish it came in just stainless steel, as we like every other aspect of the stand and slow feeder.
