Slice the Cheese Please!
While I was visiting my daughter for a few weeks, I ordered her this cheese slicer. She was thrilled! It cut hard and fairly soft cheese, such as American, easily. The slicer is easy to wash and a real time saver when slicing cheese.

Fine product
Wasn't exactly what we wanted but it is a fine product.

Way better quality than expected
I lost my wood handle cheese plane that had been my moms and was trying to find a close replacement, but couldn't find anything under $20. I bumped into this one, the handle was lighter colored and thicker than what I had, but I figured the handle would darken or could be stained darker, and the price was a knockout. I wasn't expecting great quality, but it arrived today and the quality is really GOOD! Better than what I had, actually. The stainless steel head is thick enough that it's not going to bend or fold up even on the hardest cheese, and the cutting end is quite sharp. I can't tell if the handle is glued or screwed, so I'm a little leary of how it might hold up in the dishwasher under high temps, but the way it is configured even if it is just glued, and comes apart, it will be an easy repair. I'm quite pleased with this replacement.

Sharp and durable.
I bought this to replace a similar one that someone accidentally tossed out. The wood handle is durable and the blade has just the perfect angle for slicing cheese. Just one word of warning: it is very sharp! It slides easily through the five different types of cheese we've used it on, but it has also sliced the hand or finger of every person who used it for the first time. Give itthe credit it is due as a knife blade, not your typical flimsy cheese slicer and you will love this. We have used it on cheddar, Gouda, Swiss, mozzarella, and Monterey Jack with great results.

Scraper Cuts too Thinly
I owner another of these from a different vendor and had hoped these would work as well as it does. The complaint I have with this model is that it scrapes such a thin amount at a time that it immediately crumbles when I try to apply the cheese or butter to its destination. I bought two because I use the other one so often that it is always in the dishwasher when I want to use it. I won't be using the new ones as often, nor as happily.

Just ok.!
I have had a slicer similar to this one for over 25 years and have taped it and taped it! I thought this one might be close, but helas, it's not! When pulling back on a softer cheese like Gouda, it curls it and then the next slice goes the same and worse!!!!This is ok. on a cheese like Jarlsberg (harder), but just does not cut it (pun intended!) like my oldie w/ the wooden handle!!! I'll keep looking!!! If anyone out there knows of a good slicer, let me know, because I buy a lot of cheese in bulk and prefer freshly sliced for any use!

It will work, but there are better planes to be had...
I recently bought both this cheese plane and a Henckels for about twice the price. Both will work, but this one feels cheap and the metal pieces rattle since they aren't tight. The only advantage this plane has over the Henckels is that this one is slightly wider and so will work for slightly thicker blocks of cheese than the other plane. So if you're only concerned with getting a cheap plane that will work, this is the answer, but if you want a plane that feels solid and looks good, the Henckels should be your choice.

Works great.
I love this cheese plan. This is the first one I have every use but it works very well. It works like a dream on soft cheese. It does not work very good on hard crumbly cheese. It does help if you use it on cheese sitting for awhile at room temperature and not straight from the fridge.

Decent cheese plane
I purchased this plane to replace the one that I used for over 40 years, only because the wooden handle fell off. Overall this Fox Run cheese plane does the job, slicing cheese smoothly, as long as there is more and 3/8" of an inch of cheese to work with with. Once your base piece drops below this, this plane has trouble and cannot to the job. That said, in this price range, this is the best cheese plane I have used.

Somewhat Dull
A good sturdy slicer but is a little on the dull side. Works great with firm cheese but not so well on softer varieties. Still a good buy for the price
