Great product, lacks features...

I recently purchased the OXO Good Grips Cheese Slicer and overall, I'm really pleased with its performance. This slicer is incredibly easy to use, and the comfortable grip ensures that you can slice through your favorite cheeses with ease. Plus, the design is sleek and modern, making it a great addition to any kitchen. The only downside to this cheese slicer is that the wire isn't adjustable. While this isn't a huge issue, it can be frustrating if you're looking to slice cheese at different thicknesses. However, despite this minor inconvenience, the slicer still does a great job of cutting through all types of cheese, including harder varieties like cheddar and gouda. Another great thing about this cheese slicer is that it's dishwasher safe, which makes cleanup a breeze. Overall, I highly recommend the OXO Good Grips Cheese Slicer for anyone who loves cheese and wants to slice it with ease. While the non-adjustable wire can be a slight drawback, it's a minor issue in the grand scheme of things, and the slicer still performs very well. Always use these!

We have used these for many years. I recently had to replacement it and happened to buy a different brand, which I gave away within 3 days. I reordered these (2 of them). I won't try anything different again. Learned my lesson.

Thick slices

Wish it would be adjustable. Would like the cheese to be sliced a little thinner. Made very well otherwise.

Verdict is out

This was a replacement of the one I had for years. HOWEVER, the previous one had a blade cutter vs the wire cutter. Must not make the blade cutter anymore, I searched everywhere even other brands. So the verdict is still out. I loved my blade cutter Oxo!

Built Like A Tank

This was what I was looking for. A cheese slicer that had a string tight as a banjo string. This slicer is built like a tank. If you angle the handle it will cut different thickness. No wimpy handle here. This thing is built for the long haul. Extra strings??? Yep it’s got them.

New and improved! (but cuts 0.100" thicker slices)

After daily use of our old OXO cutter it finally wore out. This new version solves the two problems with our old cutter: the wire loosening over time and eventually breaking off from the slack. We only wish the width was adjustable. Your supposed to angle it but that gives you random sizes. If you cut firmly against the rail this version cuts prices at 0.300" where the old version cut them at 0.200". Not a huge deal for me but my nan is on a diet and the change in size is hard to adjust to. It would be nice if the roller moved up and down to adjust size. Other than that it is a great product and the extra included wire combined with the tensioning wheel should more than double it's lifespan.

The one I was initially shipped had a problem where the cutting wirekept popping out of its keeper grooves due to poor design. Too much tension (as incurred with slicing even soft cheeses) on the wire and it was out. I contacted the distributor and they shipped me a new one where the axle of the roller protruded just enough to keep the cutting wire in place. This one has worked very well. It's a shame that OXO hasn't done more QA on the design and production.

Simply the best

I had one of these before but I cannot find it for the life of me. You can get much cheaper cutter but this one ouzes quality and I control the depth of slice by the angle I hold it at which is a much simpler thing than adjustable slicers. Reviewers of OTHER slicers moaned about problems fixing of the wire securely and related issues and I know what they mean but since I switched to this slicer - no such problems. Easier to clean by the way than boards with wires attached.
