GREAT for High Energy Dogs!!!
Let me begin by saying my ONLY problem with this backpack is chafing from the straps. The cushion helps, but they're still not very soft. I fixed this by applying some "moleskin" on the sides facing the body; this is effective at reducing chafing, but it peels off and needs to be replaced occasionally. This said, my dog has a wire-coat and no under-coat, so he has less hair to protect his skin from friction. Not a criticism, more of a suggestion: I like that the backpack has reflective strips, but I wish it had better overall low-light visibility, more like a reflective safety vest. Now for the good stuff! I LOVE this backpack! I've used it consistently for several months now. My dog is a mutt; he has the energy and intelligence of a terrier with the slender and speedy build of an Italian Greyhound. High energy + light frame = high speed AND high endurance. I was looking online to find a solution for draining his high energy when I read that having your dog carry 10-20% of his body-weight in a backpack has the affect of walking twice the distance (IE - 1 mile with a backpack is roughly equivalent to 2 miles without a backpack). Carrying the extra weight increases the physical and mental challenge of a walk. However make sure you read up about safety before using weights with your dog!! (We use canned goods as weights) Since implementing the backpack into his exercise, I have experienced far less leash pulling and more time-efficient work-outs, with a tired and happy dog at the end! My dog could probably do 4-5 miles a day without the backpack; we do 2 miles a day with the backpack and it's enough to drain him. I have recommended this backpack to several friends with medium- to high-energy dogs!

This is a nice backpack BUT, the posted size information in the description is completely inaccurate. I ordered the X-small for my little broadchested dog with a 16" girth and this was huge on him. Upon close examination of the actual product tag attached to the backpack, the girth sizing is as follows: xx small: 12-19", x small: 17-25", small: 21-31", medium: 26-37" and large: 32-50". It's too bad the sizing was so off because it would actually be a great backpack for him,since it sits close to the shoulders and therefore, you wouldn't put weight in the center of his back and the straps wouldn't interfere with natural breaks including leg lifting breaks. Some other designs look so long and as though the fastener underneath might encumber him. Will hope to find someplace selling the xx small. And I have no idea how this would work on a 6 lb yorkie! The neck strap was so big, even tightened as much as we could, that my husband was able to fasten it on his neck!

Ok til the zipper broke
I like the style of this backpack and it worked well for a few months. But, the zipper was always difficult to open/close and finally broke. This should not have broken after just 2 months of use. It's outside the return window, so safety pins for now. Won't buy this again. Looking for another option with similar styling but improved quality.

The picture appears to fit the animal well, but the animal in the picture doesn't have the body habitus as my dog. Your dog's body will play a large role as to how you do or don't like the product. It's difficult to place this pack in a manner it remains stationary without causing friction burn. It's a great tool for camping/walking. My dog is able to hold water or other materials, but it seems to impede his stride. It bothers him during walks. It seems to shorten his stride, which I believe he doesn't like. He will not run with this apparatus on which may be a good thing during some situations or a bad thing in others. I kept the product as I do find it useful for some things. It's either hit or miss, but as I said before it will largely depend on she shape of your dog.

so cute on my yorkie
I have a 6lb yorkie who's very energetic and even anxious. I read that going for a walk and having him carrying some weight can help, so I bought this one not being sure if it would fit and if it would work. I also read the weight should be 20-30% of the dogs weight, so I only put some stuff like key chains, a little bit of treats, a tiny bottle of water for himself, and it worked. At first he didn't want to move with the backpack on him, but after a few attempts he started enjoying it. Now, every time I get it he knows it means going for a walk! And he seems more rested when we are back, which is good since he has too much energy....

Error in size description on the shopsite
Recently, I bought this backpack for one of my small Chihuahua mixes and of course, I first looked up the measurements they gave for the chosen size. The measurements seemed perfect for my dogs --- until the backpack arrived --- it's too big for dogs of this size! It came with its normal tag on it and there I could read that the measurements which were given in the description here would have been for size XX Small --- but actually I had purchased X Small, relying on the description on the amazon Shopsite, and now have a size which doesn't fit the dog properly. That is very annoying as I live in Germany and surely will not be able to make the effort and send this -otherwise good- product back. Unfortunately, I could not find this backpack in the proper size till now.

It opens and closes fine a little tight but makes me feel its a ...
My dog 12.5 lbs loves it and knows it time to work when i bring it out. Took her about 30 mins to get okay walking with it on, The only complaint I would have is one of the two zippers is not as fluid as the other. It opens and closes fine a little tight but makes me feel its a ticking timebomb and will break soon. I will check back in as the uses add up to see if the quality stays

Bad girth strap placement
I am having trouble finding a back pack that fits a 13 pound Fox Terrier. Not all packs come in an extra small size. I would have liked this one and it fits him, but it would have been better if a.) it had two sets of tummy straps and b.) the straps behind the legs were not so close to the legs. I can't make it fit so it does not rub on his legs as he moves. Looks very uncomfortable..

Very sturdy and looks great
This bag is very sturdy and looks great on our pup. The bags are big enough to fit a couple of necessities, such as a small water bottle, bags, toys, and treats. The straps are also adjustable at the front, and at the bottom behind the front legs to give the best custom fit for each dog. Our dog loves wearing it as it makes it feel like he's working when he goes for a walk and is on his best behaviour. When we take it off he knows he's allowed to go play. X-small fits our small-medium dog, but read the measurements before purchasing. There is a hole at the top back to hook a leash if your dog wears a harness, which is quite convenient, and also a handle at the top for you to carry the bag around after you take it off the dog. Our only problem was that after a few days of wear, the buckles at the bottom straps unbuckle themselves every now and then. We're not sure why, even after adjusting the straps.

Great Product Lousy sizing!!!
It is a well built backpack loved it..... The sizing they give you is SO WRONG!!! I bought the large for my big dog according to there chart too small for my Briard. Bought X small for my rescue half miniature poodle half Bichon To small. Probably a small to a medium would fit.... Will let you know... Sending both back and just reordering the Small will let you if it fits.....

Great quality, Product Just as described.
This is a great quality dog backpack. Make sure you measure your dog before buying this product as the sizes do seem to be pretty small (this medium backpack almost doesn't fit my corgi mix dog!) I'm really happy with this product and my dog seems to love it as well, from the moment we put it on he was not bothered by it or uncomfortable at all.
