These stairs are perfect for my dog who has trouble jumping
These stairs were purchased for my dog who has trouble jumping on the bed as she is older. At first, the stairs scared her, but not she loves using them to get onto the bed. They are very sturdy and do not move even if she is running to get onto them. Overall, it was worth the price and the company did an amazing job at creating these stairs and their quality

It's Bulky but strong
It's easy to put together because the parts just snap in place. Arrived quickly but the box looks like it went through hell. No parts missing. It's bulky and move a little when my dog goes up the steps and it's worse when my dog uses it to get off the bed, because it moves 1-2". The steps are lined with carpet. The carpet is durable the fibers appear strong. I like the overall color called Mew Cappuccino. It's not brown, it's more of a rust color. Im happy with the fact that I don't have to lift the dog, who is still growing.

Works great
I bought these for my 8lb chihuahua to get on my bed without having to take a running leap. She got used to them in 5 minutes, with a few treats. The only thing I don't like is that the steps have a tilt to them. She doesn't like it either. Otherwise I'd give 5 stars. I put a blanket under them so the cats hide behind/under the stairs.

Want an easier life?
I like everything about these steps. We no longer have to lift our Dashaund up on the bed, and he is so proud of himself that he can get up there by himself now. We were having to life the other Pupsters on the bed also, they didn't want left out, but now they are all using the steps. YES, YES and YES.

You CAN teach an old dog new tricks
Caly is about 12 years old and 45 pounds. She is blind in one eye and needs a lot of reassurance when walking on a new surface, like going from tile to wood. We surrounded the bed with flattened boxes so she had to use the stairs, and I used chicken to entice her. The stairs have a patch of carpet on the step part, but it's surrounded by hard plastic, rather than like a carpet runner. She'd edge herself closer to the treat at the end of the step, but then her nails would hit the plastic and make a clicking sound and that would freak her out and she'd retreat like "nope." After about 10 minutes of trying, I covered the entire stairs with a towel. I went up on the bed with a piece of chicken and called her, and she bounded right up, much to my surprise. Then right back down with chicken lure. Easy peasy. We did it 4 more times and took a break. Just know your dog and whatever hangups they may have and work with them. Don't give up. I'm glad we're doing this now, rather than waiting until she's too old to jump or gets injured. If the manufacturer made these with a carpet runner style instead of patches, it would be perfect. We may decide to rig our own runner, but for now, the towel works.

Great for my 15 pound dog.
I board dogs in my home...mostly under 20 pounds and/or seniors. These stairs work very well for them to get up on the bed. I did SO much research before I bought...this was/is the winner.

It is exactly what I need it.
I need something sturdy and good for my outdoor catio, so my cats and my little dog can go in an out from my lower window. This is perfect. One side doesn't snap fully like the other, but it works fine.

Very satisfied with this product!
This was a great investment and probably the cheapest one in its height that I could find. My small dog has joint problems and loves using these stairs for our tall bed. It's sturdy and safe, looks nice, and only took about a minute to assemble.

Robust, Sturdy and non-slip for 37kg Labrador - RECOMMENDED
I have a Hyundai iX35 with a boot height of 28 inches which has caused a number of problems with my 3 year old Labrador that was jumping in and out of the car when I took her for walks. With her now being lame for the last 4-5 days due to the fact that she jarred her front leg getting out of the car (as its quite a drop and she is a heavy dog), I have since invested in these 3 step stairs (as there were considerably cheaper compared to changing the car!) Now I need to point out here that I have tried a dog ramp before and she would not touch it - regardless of treats galore - most probably because it was so steep that she did not feel safe - but these steps are quite different. They are 23 inches in height, are easy to piece together and have carpeted steps which stop the dog from slipping. The construction is quite robust as my Lab weighs in at 37 Kilos and they can certainly hold her weight with ease. Even though they have rubber feet on the bottom to stop the stairs from slipping - I still place my foot by the bottom step just to be on the safe side as I know that if the stairs should move just very slightly - the dog will never touch them again. The top step is just 5 inches lower than my car boot, but this has not phased the dog in any way. Getting her to use the stairs successfully was not a 2 second job. There was a lot of coaxing, and gravy bone rewards (one on each step and then some more in the boot), but the 30 mins of patience paid off as she was becoming more and more comfortable going up and down the stairs the more the time ticked on. Again - when I took her out for a walk, the stairs were placed in the back of the car, I had a pocket load of gravy bones and repeated exactly the same steps as before and to my joy she used the steps to get out and back into the car. I am not saying that I have cracked it totally - but all the signs I am seeing so far as positive. So verdict - I would recommend these steps. Construction is good, they are sturdy and light-weight, fit comfortably on the back seat of a car, the dog does not slip on the carpeted steps (which you can easily wash should they get a bit mucky) and they are easy to put together. I very much doubt many dogs will like them initially, but with a bit of patience and some treats, the fear factor is overcome and ultimately, your pet will not injure their joints in any way. UPDATE: Day 2 (12th Jan 15) Dog is now perfectly happy using the steps to get in and out of the boot of my car and will wait until they are in place. In total she has been up and down the steps 8 times today with no issues or treats - just loads of praise! We have cracked it! UPDATE: 26th July 2016 - I am still using these steps on a daily basis and have now reached the stage where my Labrador will not attempt to get in or out of the car without them. They have made a huge difference to her. She no longer jolts her front legs, lameness is now a thing of the past, plus they still look as good as new.

Excellent value.
Having deliberated long and hard over which type of pet step stairs to buy, I chose this one based on the price, sturdiness, safety and ease of use for the dog. It arrived quickly and despite the recommendation for having two people to assemble it, I did manage to get it together singlehanded. Most of it went together easily but some of the dowels refused to go through the holes and I had to resort to whacking the pieces with a wooden mallet to get them in. Surprisingly, my furious efforts left no marks on the item at all. The carpet strips are good, attach firmly to the treads and lay flat. My bed is 23 inches high from floor to top of mattress and the top step is level with this. It is also very sturdy. I weigh 9.5 stones (whatever that is in pounds) and have stood on all the steps to test them. I wouldn't like to jump up and down on them, but I didn't feel as though they would collapse under me. Having said all this, the wretched dog took one look at them and refused to use them and continues to jump, scamble and occasionally fall back on to the floor. They are not the most attractive piece of bedroom furniture, but they are still by the bed. Maybe, one day he will decide to try them. Perhaps I should have consulted him first!

Very light but very strong. 5 star product
My Border Collie is 14 years old. He was born with malformed hips which has restricted him all his life as regards to too much exercise. However with the onset of old age he has recently developed arthritis and he has trouble getting in and out of the car. He's a big Collie weighing in at around 26Kg and as both my wife and I have long term medical situations we cannot lift him bodily into and out of the car. Then we saw the Pet Gear steps at the back of a car at a recent country show. After a quick search I found them on Amazon and ordered without hesitation. They arrived in 2 days and are simplicity itself to assemble however be aware that you need to be quite strong to press fit the pieces together. That said though, you are rewarded with a very sturdy 3 tier step with carpeted treads. A nice touch is that the carpet inserts are on Velcro so they can be removed for cleaning. They are also designed with solid risers between the treads so the dog cannot see through between the steps. This should help most dogs as many do not like open staircases for this reason. Some dogs may take a while to get used to these especially if, like mine, who is blind they need some encouragement for anything new. Once the novelty barrier is overcome these are a very useful aid to getting your dog in and out of the car. The steps will happily sit on the back seat too although ours will be stored in the garage most of the time. If you have an old or infirm dog who has problems jumping in and out of cars then these are ideal.

Dog steps
Just managed to put together the 3 steps dog stairs, without any instructions???? very happy , I had to use a little force to make sure it was totally put together right, when it is it's very stable, to get my doggy to try it I put his favourite treat on the first step then the second he didn't want to go right up to the top yet I don't blame him, he's old and going blind, take your time if your dog is unsure, I think my doggy will be ok with the steps in a few days, lots of fuss, treats, praise, very happy with the steps , quite high which it was what I needed, would buy again and would recommend, if the steps aren't stable after you have put it together check that the bits you push into the holes are right in ,

Room for improvements but does the job
Stairs are well sturdy enough when put together, would take a fair amount of weight from a dog. It does take a lot of strength to get the parts to click together but I suppose it makes it more secure. I have yorkshire terriers, medium and small and they are willing to use the stairs, most of the time, but are not keen on the plastic edges. If it had been more of a stair runner carpet covering the edges too that would have been ideal. Also a small raised section at the sides, as a guide/support would probably made them more confident I feel, as they are used to stairs been enclosed at the sides. Stairs are quite steep but not as bad as I feared and even my small dog manages them ok so it works well enough. Older dog can access bed and things again without assistance and in the end thats all I wanted it for. Update: I moved the carpet pads slightly further forward on the velcro to cover more of the edges, it leaves a little gap at the back of the stairs but my dogs feet don't reach back to there so its fine. After doing that my dogs are much more confident using the steps and are up and down them without a care now.
