Works, not perfect, but better than scissors

I HATE BLISTER PACKS. That said, this tool does make it easier to get the pills out of a stubborn blister pack. I have pills that are sealed so well into their blister its near impossible to get them out. I even asked my wife and daughter to try to see if I was missing some easy detail - I apparently was not. I literally would destroy a pill trying to remove it. I went to trying to use scissors but even that sometimes ruined the pill or sent it flying across the room. The pen has a hard sharp point that recesses. You push on the end of the pen and the point comes out. It easily pokes into the blister wrapper, and with some practice you can learn how to drag it to tear open the blister to extract an undamaged pill. BE CAREFUL, its easy to stick your self with the point in your struggle to open a difficult blister pack. The more you practice, the easier the pen gets to use.

This pen is the best product on the market for nurses that have to open a lot of blister packs on a daily bases. However, the pen does have some shortcoming: 1. Nurses often do not have the time or ability to be posted in a where they are able to hold the pen exactly as demonstrated. 2. Some blister pack still will not open correctly if the pen is just so. The paper will tear unevenly but you can use the tip to force back the paper. 3. You have to be able to see exactly where the opening for the blister pack is on the back of the medication and some medications this is difficult to do. 4. The little metal piece becomes dull. 5. If washed by accident it discharges a black substance that cannot be washed out of clothing. Having said this, the pros are the pen does save stress on one’s hands. I use it on a daily bases and it’s when at work. Out of the tools that are sold on Amazon I purchased all of them and this is the best product that I’ve found on the market at this time.

Great for RA

I'm a nurse recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and my hands would throb by end of shift opening those stupid pill packs. I use this, and even after 12 hours I still feel great because I can use this to just draw around the pill and they fall right out!

works as described and opens those nasty pill packets. Probably knif would work too but I found I would cut myself on blade, this is more like a pen and easy to hold

Great pill opener for nurses with RA

This product is a life saver for any nurse that has RA or numbness in their fingertips. You run the rim of the pen around the back of the pill package and with no effort at all the pill is ready to easily come out of package. Would recommend for any healthcare professionals that want to save their fingers and move faster.

Burst out the back while in my pocket… ink stained my scrubs

WHY does this pen have ink in it?! It’s not even a real/operating pen! For some reason the ink burst out the back and glued the button down… so now it’s completely unusable… I literally used it less than 10 times before it got ink all over my scrubs. For $20? I’m upset.

Love this!

I have RA and pushing pills in blister packs is very difficult. This item makes it so much easier. Wish I had bought this sooner.
