Excellent Reel Grease

A little goes a long way when lubricating the internals of a fishing reel. Although small it will still last me a long time. I’m using it when I clean my reels once a year on the internals of a Penn 209 and for my Ambassadeur 6500C3. This grease is high quality and highly recommend it.

This grease is perfect for lubricating the gears etc inside all my fishing reels! They are all operating smoothly and properly, just like new! You don’t need much to gear up a fishing reel! I have a couple favorite reels nearly 50 years old, now operating just like new again!

Penn is always a great choice

We are avid fisherman in FL and we all have a container of this in our tackle. The container is small but a little goes a long way. It is very important to clean and grease your reels and this does the job.

Good reel grease

This is good reel grease for greasing your reels. I got 2oz of grease and it is more than enough to grease up multiple reels. I greased a few 6000 class reels an still have a ton for more. I was worried 2oz wouldn't be enough, but it is plenty. I would recommend this for greasing any and all of your reels in the off season.

Is it a little too thick?

I will preface my comments by stating that I am no expert on greases or reels... That being said, I wonder if this grease is a little too thick? Or, am I just applying too much? I do slather on a lot of grease inside my reels, and coat all surfaces to reduce the occurrence of internal corrosion. I really like the consistency (and I will admit that I like the color, but it is of no import, and make fun of my wife for being way too color-conscious). I find it spreads well with a small painter's brush. Overall, I like it, but I find that the reels require more effort to run with this grease compared to the factory grease, which is clear. In practical terms, I did not notice it whilst reeling-in a 6.5 pound catfish recently. In the future, I plan to try using "Master" brand "Faucet and Valve Grease" that I purchased at my local hardware store. It is clear, cheaper, also waterproof (as I suspect ALL greases in reality are) and thinner, looking like and having the consistency of the factory grease (Garcia Mitchell). That's my two cents, for whatever it is worth.

Hard to find in your fishing store so expect to pay a premium

Bought for my Dad who is a longtime Angler , been searching for Reel oil and grease but no one stocks it. Was told it's more common for people just to replace a reel instead these days. However if your a proper fisherman you've invested money into some good reels and no doubt have favourites. I thought about purchasing the cheaper Chinese stuff but read mixed reviews and didn't want to wait a month for import. My old man's tore down three reels and given a once over with the oil and grease and says they feel and sound like brand new . He impressed so I'm impressed as he's a hard man please when it comes to fishing
