The item smells
Once it's out together it's very sturdy though I recommend two people. Also, place the bottom half near where you want it before attaching the top half. It can be a bit heavy otherwise. Everything fits together perfectly and the assembly was intuitive. My only complaints are that the Styrofoam they use breaks up into tiny pieces and it took me at least an hour to pick them off and clean the pieces. Second, after putting it in my bedroom we started noticing a bad sour smell. Turned out to be the stairs. Liberal application of fabreeze and lysol wiped to the whole unit managed to handle that... Eventually.

LOVE LOVE LOVE
Well, I see all these questions about size and weight so I thought I'd give some good perspective here. My two staffy mixes are 35 and 42 lbs with the heavier one being on the bottom bunk. My little beagle heeler mix is 33 lbs which puts a total of 68 lbs on the top bunk with the two of them together. The steps are steep for sure so probably an older dog or smaller dog would have a bit of trouble maneuvering them but they are pretty wide steps being about 20 inches across and a little more than 7 and a 1/2 inches deep, which is actually what I was more afraid of, but they're really pretty good. My kids had no trouble with them. It was super easy to assemble and you do it in two parts. First the steps then the bunk. I guess you could leave the steps off though if you put it next to your bed and have jumpers. I think it's about 40 to 50 ish lbs once fully assembled. I will say that this is a very sturdy product and I'm really glad we made this purchase.

Fits both dogs and work for my needs
Had my eye on this for quite some time and finally went for it in replace of a chair I had there. Fits both dogs, my 30lb and 65lb. Little pup sits up top and can see out the window perfectly. Big dog barely fits underneath but he still likes to.

Would be great for cats!
The product is well made, easy to assemble, and sturdy. For us, the problem was steep, shallow stairs, and sides around bed not quite high enough. The bed on top is sized for a smaller dog, but my dog's legs were too short to manage going down the stairs. I think this product would work great for cats. Our cat was very curious about it. Unfortunately we had to return because our small dog had trouble getting up and down.

Helps with separation anxiety
Love it! Enough space for my 2 chihuahuas. The material is very strong, it’s very sturdy and very easy to mount. I also like how the bed on top is strapped with Velcro so its not moving around either - great small detail! The only minor issue was the stairs it comes with because for small dogs the last step is too high but it was easily fixed with a stairs I already had which is the Certi-Pur from Best Pet Supplies Store (you can find it also here on Amazon). It’s a game changer because it helped a LOT with anxiety too. The dogs didn’t had anything else to view if we weren’t here and even though they have a lot of toys it’s the same scene. Now they love to just go up there and stare outside and see the scenery, cars pass by, hear and now see the birds, etc. We also put a baby gate on the window too for extra precaution. If you are thinking about it, go for it!!

Sturdy, but the stairs are dangerous for my dog
The product looks nice and feels sturdy. Assembly took about 30-45minutes with a screwdriver and drill, but the directions were good and there was even a bag of spare parts (not needed, but nice). Unfortunately, my issues are with design and function. The steps are just too steep for my medium sized dog (15lbs). Hes very active and young, speedy and acrobatic, and goes up and down stairs all day long at the house, but these are just too steep and narrow. The distance from the top bed to the first step is so far that the dog has to fully commit and barrel down. I cant imagine an older dog even trying it.. no way. My dog busted his butt on the second try, then decide it wasn't for him. Wasted $160. Live and learn. We tried it with my neighbors larger dogs and they opted to just jump up vs using the awkard steps after trying them once. My recommendation for the company is to sell the bed side and stair side separately. And to have a few options for the stairs. The stairs should be slightly wider and there should be a 3rd step. I cant imagine that many of us buying this care about an extra 6-7inches for another step, vs having a product the pets cant use. They are already assembled separately and attached at the end, so it should be easy. I am thinking about creating a third step myself, but it is going to look cheap then. The point of paying for this one was the nice finish. Im sure if I rig up a third step myself, its not going to look nice anymore haha. Overall, I feel that if the product was designed better I wouldn't have to jury rig it spending more money and several hours. I really wish there was some way I could be sent or buy a few extra pieces of the wood and step-top so I could make another step. I hope my review saves someone else from wasting $160 on this in its current state. Once its all together, you aren't going to want to spend 45min disassembling and somehow getting it back into the tightly packed box to send back.

A little too heavy but good quality
It has good quality and the stairs are perfect for my dog. It's just a little too heavy (which I guess is because of the good material)

A lot of faff
Bought this to try and get a touch more bedcback from our elderly dog. No chance. So many steps to assemble it, and when it was done they were so steep he wouldn’t climb them. The sleeping area was tiny (own fault should have read it better). Ended up selling it locally and losing on the seal. A great big ffffzzzzzpppppp thumbs down from me and a hell of a price.

Does what it says on the box
The product is ok but I’m not overalls thrilled about it. Some of the parts had the wrong labels on them which caused confusion when assembling the item. It does the job and makes a good window perch. The stairs are steep. My dog can just about manage to get down them. However, it did not arrive on time and disappointed to see the price has gone up by £45. It’s certainly not worth £165. Would be quicker building one yourself.

Poor Quality!
Had to return this as fittings were faulty and not fit to hold the item together. I didn’t attempt further assembly upon discovering this.

Gives my puppy bed access
The instructions were a little hard to follow, the product itself is great. Pippin loves to sleep on it.
