This is easy to use, easy to clean, and very effective as a meat tenderizer. I used it, then put on my meat marinade - wow, worked great.

Hard to clean
Works good, very sturdy, hard to clean. Very hard to get to the blades with any kind of brush.

Recommended, but a little stiff to use
Great quality, love that it goes into the dishwasher for clean up, and quick delivery. The only thing I did not like was how stiff it is to use the spring-loaded action to press the blades into the meat... it is a little challenging.

Awesome product
The product is easy to use tenorizes the meat wonderfully in seconds. The only thing is it's not easy to clean, But I figured out I have a straw brush cleaner and I use that to clean them between the spikes.

Far More Effective Than a Fork
Saves valuable time at home rather than stabbing slowly with a fork. Works best with tougher cuts of meat that need to be brined and cooked in short order. Kind of smashes softer meats and is a no-go on things like fish or chicken tenders (not that you would normally need to tenderize things like that). Pork especially takes well to this, but often takes overnight or longer to sufficiently let the salt and/or tenderizing agent (I often use a pinch of baking soda - don't neutralize with an acid) reach a sufficient state. Using a fork works to shorten this within hours but can take a lot of effort and time. Pounding is ineffective on thicker cuts. Tenderizing agents alone need a very long time to get through a whole cut of meat unaided. I was pretty skeptical of this tool at first, and partway though using it. Not the easiest thing to clean, and while relatively sturdy, is probably going to break or dull eventually through use. But after fully using it to cook a few dishes, it works as expected and is a massive time saver when trying to prep dinner and leftovers for for lunch. Even if it only last me a year, I'd still be happy. Only wish is the spring tension would be a bit lower for less effort and less flattening of the meat.

Worth the investment for tender cuts of meat.
The media could not be loaded. Works great and easy to clean. All you have to do is drop it in the dishwasher and wala it's clean and sterile for the next use!

We love it. It does a awesome job of tenderizing meat This is the second one we have purchased. We use it on most of the steaks we cook.

Simple and practical. Pays it way in the kitchen drawer.
This simple device can jab a multitude of holes into most meats. For chicken breasts you probably get about three pushes with it to get the most benefit. It is ideal for things you are going to put on the charcoal or gas grill as it can help you give marinade flavours good access. Just to be clear this doesn't flatten the meat, it makes lots of tiny slice holes into it. A quick recipe: 4 chicken breasts One whole lemon (or lime), sliced in half. Coarse salt Freshly ground pepper. Press the chicken breasts about three times each with the tenderiser. Next transfer them to a glass oven dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Squeeze lemon ( or lime ) orver the top. Leave in fridge for a couple of hours. Barbecue until about 70C/160F. Thinly slice on the slant. Serve with salad with sauce of choice in warmed pitta or on crunchy bread.

Tenderized in a flash
How many times have you forgotten or did not have the time to properly tenderize your steaks? That is a common occurrence in our house . Enter the OXO tenderizer. A couple of pushes and your steak is done. I have no complaints with the build quality or ease of use, but when you have grouped blades in small area it takes a bit of work to make sure you get them clean. This of course, is not unexpected. Would I buy it again , yes.

Must purchase pipe cleaners with this product
This worked very well with tenderizing various meats. Was able to tenderize a cheap steak and it was very good. Do yourself a favour: buy the smallest size pipe cleaner on Amazon along with it. You will need it to get between the blades properly. Soaking it warm soapy water helps, but the pipe clearers helps a LOT.
