Maybe avoid for large shrimp

Used it on some huge Argentina Red shrimp and it could get the job done, but ended up switching to a sharper knife. It works but I didnt find it any more convenient then the traditional method. Still I like the idea and it works well enough.

not quite what I thought

I was curious to see what I would actually get since a shell remover works on the opposite side of the shrimp from its poop vein. This very easily slices through the back of shell. When you peel it off the shrimp, the vein should come off as well. This sort of works part of the time. Still, the vein, at this point, is now exposed and easy to pull off. The plastic finger guard is the kind of thoughtful design that OXO is known for.

I like this! Works great with Jumbo prawns... not sure how it'll do with the smaller shrimps

Great shrimp deveiner. Easy to use, comfortable to hold, and easy to clean.

I've been wanting a shrimp deveiner for a long time. I had one before, but I think the blade got dull. This one works very well and is from a great company. I tried some shrimp for dinner tonight and this worked very well. It was so much faster than my old one. The handle is soft and comfortable to hold, which is nice when you have to do a couple dozen shrimp at a time. It also cleans easily and can even be washed in the dishwasher. I usually just washed mine by hand because it was simple to do. At this price, it is a bargain considering how much time it saved me. I highly recommend this. It would also make a great present for a new home/apartment owner.

Easy to use and speeds up the cleaning process

Easy to use and easy to clean. This shrimp deveiner is perfect for large shrimp. It has a blunt point on the blade but once you slip that part into the shrimp, there's a sharp edge that'll cut through the vein super easily. Sure beats trying to slice the vein open on a cutting board with a paring knife.

Works great

This works great and is an easier and safer way to prep shrimp than using a knife. It's oxo so it's sturdy and dishwasher safe. This is a no-brainer if you eat much shrimp.
