This watch is awesome to the max. As I hop into my DeLorean it only gets fresher. Nice, light weight, features that work. Totally awesome. I roll my windows down now, just so I can hang my arm out and all can bask in my calculated coolness. It’s sporty, clean looking, goes with a suit as well as it does a nice crisp pair of Z Cavaricci. Only complaint (and takes away a star) is the description states case is Stainless Steel, but it is plastic. But a nice finish, so I am satisfied.

Best version of the Data Bank
I’ll start off by addressing the features that this watch because I see some confusion in other reviews and in the questions section. This watch and as far as I am aware every Data Bank model DOSE NOT have a timer. You do get a stop watch function, a time function and a dual time function. Obviously the two major features of this model are the actual data bank where you can store phone numbers and names you get 25 storage points and the name can be up to eight charters long. You can store any phone number in various formats…you may want to use the dashes (- key) to make you nations format fit evenly and not have an odd digit out. The calculator function is pretty self explanatory and useful there is also a currency conversion calculator which is interesting but probably useless to most people. You get several language options as well. That would be the language the day is displayed in and the alphabetical characters in the data bank mode. Functionally of this watch is excellent on the time display mode in addition to the time you also have the day in three letters, the date in month-day format and the year in full 4 digit display. That is very useful for people who often need the day and date for their job. I suppose the full year is also useful for January were people tend to forget the year has changed. The watch has an alarm function and you can set up to 5 with snooze options. You can set an alarm for daily monthly or once a year….say for an important date possibly a very useful function for many people though probably best to set the annual reminder a few days before the actual day for a particularly important date. I have seen people complain about getting confused by the instruction manuals for more complex Casios. Really they do a good job of explaining things you may need to read it a few times and actually perform the function. Failing that you can find tutorials on YouTube. Design wise I think this watch has an interesting aesthetic. Personally I feel that the silver color is more refined and the gold tone my look tacky on the wrong wearer but will look good on the right person. It’s definitely a watch that will either fit with the wearer or they’ll stand out for the wrong reason. I find this watch is a good way to enjoy technology but also separate yourself from being completely engrossed. It’s nice to have a watch that actually tells time and can perform other functions and is a separate thing from say a smartphone or smart watch all of which from a visual standpoint are very dull and uninteresting looking. Additionally the watch is a separate way to store phone numbers just in case. Overall an interesting useful watch that has an interesting look to it. I also own the modern pattern Data Bank DBC-32 and another classic pattern Data Bank the CA-53W. Features wise the DBC-32 has the same functionality as this version (DBC-611). The CA-53W has less features no data bank and no light but is a great choice as a beater.

Pretty cool.
I actually use it, for basic calculations. Smaller than anticipated, but overall easy to read and is quite comfortable. Band is easy to adjust, watch is easy to setup. Only dig other than desire for a solid metal module, is water resistance as I don't think there's much at all. In very cold weather you get some fog inside the glass. It goes away quickly, but the module is either not well sealed or something happened in production. Also, it did not come in a box or anything....just a green Casio felt pouch. No big deal, just odd. Pretty happy with it, would definitely buy again if something happened to it.

Great watch, the backlight is absolute trash though
The watch itself is great, feels good on your wrist and you forget you have it on. The backlight is 100% the worst thing about it. There is a tiny bulb on the left side of the watch and it doesn't illuminate the face well at all. Very annoying considering I work nights and need to check my watch 100+ times a night. It's still somewhat readable but really disappointing because the normal Casio watch without the numpad lights up flawlessly without a single dark spot. Still definitely worth the money I would say though, especially if this is not a concern for you.

Idiot Proof
Have had this for a few months now. I never take it off except to occasionally clean. Have gone swimming in oceans, rivers, hot tubs, no issues. My math is bad enough that I actually do use the calculator. It's a fun piece that's not too bulky. I'm pretty rough with my stuff but no cosmetic damage so far. Band is metal and casing appears to be plastic on the front, but it's really really difficult to notice even when closely examining, and looks as good as the day I got it.

Creamy, nostalgic, goodness!
The first four watches I owned were digital. I had one of those Texas Instruments LED watches i bought in 1976 with my birthday money. Then I had this really cool National Semi-Conductor that had an LCD display and played eight seconds of “When the Saints Go Marching In” (yes, of course I timed it). Then I had a Timex LCA which has also been re-released in homage form. And I had a DataBank because how else would a young high school buck keep his class schedule and favorite phone numbers straight. And with this big honkin’ calculator watch adorning my adolescent wrist it was all I could do to keep the girls phone numbers straight. I was fending them off with a stick. Then monkeys flew out of my butt just in time to point out the pigs flying by the window. All jokes about the sex appeal of a watch with a digital readout and a keypad aside, this is some truly retro magic! And all the features work. Your iPhone or it’s Android equivalent will do everything this watch will do with truly dazzling user friendliness compared to figuring out how to enter your vital info onto a postage stamp sized membrane switch but, hey, that is HARDLY the point. The truth is this watch is a reminder of a simpler time when your TV could be tuned in with rabbit ears, telephones had dials (and in some cases buttons), and computers did not sign onto the internet because (hold onto your teenagers) there was no internet. And the Casio DataBank was the smartest watch there was. Bar none.

Super retro watch
This is a really good retro watch. I wanted one as a teenager and now as an adult in my mid 40s, I love it. The only issue is not the watch, but my eyesight. The am/pm signal, the alarm on signal etc are so small I can't read them - I would be able to if I was a teenager. I wish I'd bought the more modern version (which doesn't look as good in my opinion) as the display is larger and clearer. So if you want some super nostalgia and you have good eyesight - buy it (it's cheaper from Amazon US than UK). If you have dodgy eyesight, buy the newer model. You won't regret it

A retro classic updated, like when they rebuild Johnny5 in gold at the end of Short Circuit 2
The original black and blue version of this watch was the coolest watch I never had in the 80s/90s when I was at primary school, (cheat at maths). So what's not to like about a new retro blinged up 'gold' coloured version. Well, It looks a bit cheap, the 'light' is terrible, strap doesn't fasten very tightly, the body is a matt plastic beige. But otherwise what you's expect.

Great retro watch
Looks good with loads of style clothes and adds a bit of classic 80's retro. Win win!
