Obviously Swimming Against The Review Stream
So here's the deal-e-o. I bought one of these about a year ago at a big box store. It has worked flawlessly since I installed it. Every couple of weeks I add or remove a hose from the manifold with no problems. It has worked so well I just ordered another one from Amazon. Either I was extremely lucky to get a good version of the product or the negative reviews come from people who got the manufacturing Fickle Finger Of Fate and received defective products. I just don't know. Note that the manifold I now have is installed in a water utility box in the ground and I live in Texas where we seldom have below freezing temperatures. I don't know if that makes any difference. In any event, the manifold I just ordered will go on a faucet sticking out of an outside wall that is fully exposed to the weather. I will update this review in a couple of months to let you know how the new manifold worked out. ************* I wrote the review above seven months ago on August 19, 2013. Now for my update: Here's the good news - the new manifold has worked flawlessly and I still give the product five stars based on my experiences with two of the manifolds. But I did learn a few things this winter I think I should share with you. In my review I said "in Texas we seldom have below freezing weather." Idiot! I was tempting the gods who always have the last laugh. We've had one of the coldest winters on record this year - with lots, and lots, and lots of subfreezing weather. So much for my weather forecasting skills. As I mentioned in my original review, the last manifold I bought was mounted on an outside wall and is fully exposed to the North wind. Exposing water filled brass to subfreezing weather is not a good idea. So every time the temp was scheduled to be below freezing I had to tromp outside, disconnect any hoses attached to the manifold and drain any water that was in the manifold (I turned the water off at the faucet and then opened all the valves on the manifold to make sure there was no water in the manifold.) Then I put a styrofoam cover over the entire manifold. This seemed to work because I never had any leaks in the manifold and it's still working great. And the first manifold I bought is still working flawlessly as well. But having to constantly haul this old carcass out into the cold weather was more than I bargained for. So as soon as the weather warms up a bit more I'm going to set another water utility box in the ground, set a faucet in it and slap the manifold on it. Then it can freeze all it wants to. Of course, as soon as I go to all that trouble, next year we will have the warmest winter on record. I never seem to learn. March 17, 2014

From my long experience, this is the best hose manifold.
I recommend this item highly. I keep coming back to this hose manifold after I stray away (trying to save money). I have more than a dozen permanent water hose connections that, over the years, have all been connected to at least one four-outlet hose manifold. Now I am even adding hose manifolds secondarily down the lines to further divide my watering capacities. Even without our extensive drought this year, I water a lot by hand (or alternative device) because I do not have a sprinkler system and I have over a thousand plants in pots. With the drought I water my foundation and trees and I have let the grass die. I water hundreds of grapes with drip irrigation and I use these manifolds for that purpose. Since I do not use timers, I manually open and close the manifolds and they take a lot of abuse. Only one orbit manifold has broken for me, the first manifold I ever bought, an Orbit, (following 10 years of daily on-and-off service), had one of its plastic balls break. I still use this manifold where I need only three outlets. I have studied books on drip irrigation and I have learned a lot about manifolds and connections, enough I think to give a valid opinion about this product. I would have given this a five-star rating if that one ball did not break. In addition to plants, I use the manifolds for automatic watering of animals. The cheap Nelson manifolds I bought started cracking even before I started using them - I got several of them on sale and it was NOT a good idea to buy them. I noticed the Nelsons would crack around the male hose threads. Brand new Nelson manifolds that I have never used are cracking around the male hose threads in storage. Other manifold name brands have come and gone because they leak or break. So I went back to Orbit. I have never had trouble with freezing, but I protect my manifolds from our infrequent freezes. I have had trouble with mineral build-up, but this occurs with virtually every product I use and it is no worse for the Orbit. If you read much about drip irrigation, you will come to expect this kind of build-up and take connections down, clean, and put them back every year. All I can say is that I have over a dozen Orbit manifolds in use now and all of them are functioning well. I have another dozen to use to replace or add to my watering get-up. I recommend using Teflon tape and pipe compound, of course, each time a connection is made.

Good product but the support bar shipped with product cannot be installed in my application
My faucet comes out a couple of inches from the wall (siding). the support bar shipped with the manifold cannot be positioned correctly.

Difficult to turn small valve switches.
I've had for a couple months and no leaks. Only complaint is that it's difficult to turn the small on/off switches after not using for a while. Once you wrestle it open, unexplainably it's easy back and forth until it's not used for a day or so, then it takes considerable effort to unstick the valve again.

Well made product.
I was unhappy with the plastic faucet manifolds I've used, many of which lasted one year at most. This seems more durable and I really liked the brace that was included. It was easy to install and makes the installation very sturdy. The valve handles are a bit close together and sometimes awkward to use.

Not durable - connectors shear off.
Not durable. Two connectors sheared off when tightening. Hopefully the replacement fair better.

Gets the job done but...
One of the little plastic handles broke off and the faucet now stays opened all the time, which happens to be a no issue as I want it opened anyways but still. Also, once turned off, it gets very hard to open. A few times I had to use a wrench to turn the spigots on. Wont touch till winter as I am afraid something else might brake

Working well.
The valves are extremely tight the first time your turn them on. Lot easier to turn on and off after that

Broke after a year. Do not buy.
Worked well the first summer. Was found leaking a lot in the fall and I found out that the hoop was broken.... Not a strong construction.

Does the job
Levers for station select are very hard to turn. Need to use pliers
