Nice way to split one tap into 3 locations but only use 1 at a time and only manual override only works for the first one.
I purchased this product at the beginning of summer to help water the lawn and I've been impressed so far but it does have a few downsides. The device is pretty heavy and it does come with a metal rod that should be bolted to the side of the house to give it some extra support. Unfortunately the rod comes down at a roughly 45 degree angle and ends up being located by ny poured concrete walls, so it was basically impossible to bolt the stand to the side of the house. I ended up putting a small piece of wood up against the house and screwing the bolt into that. It works but is not as secure as the wood can move around as opposed to a bolt in the house. So far the device itself hasn't leaked but the hose connectors do - it's really tough to get hoses to attach to anything without a little bit of water leaking. However the good news is that the shutoffs work well so they don't leak 24/7 My biggest disappointment however is the manual override button. This works great for those impromptu waterings where you don't have an available sprinkler, the area is too oddly shaped for a sprinkler or you just need to fill a bucket, wash the car, the dog etc. I use it to water the flowers at the front of the house that a sprinkler is not really going to get very well without wasting a lot of water. However, the manual override can only be used on the 1st outlet. This means you can only use water from one of the 3 hoses in an impromptu session. Not great if you need to use water in several locations at irregular times. I fixed this by adding a 2 way splitter to the first outlet and running two hoses - one to a sprinkler that I use to water a certain area manually and the other is attached to a hose to allow me to water the flowers or wash the car when I feel like it. The splitter allows me to choose which area I want to water for 10 mins with one push of the button and 1 toggle of the splitter. As a result of this manual process, I excluded the time process from this outlet and only have the other 2 outlets set up for their programs. The other major downside is that you can only use one outlet at a time so you need to carefully plan your watering. This may not be as big of a deal as you get more coverage when only one hose is in use, but it means you cant water the front and side lawn at the same time. You also cannot use the manual feature either and more importantly, if you are using the manual feature when a scheduled water is to take place, the schedule will not occur. This does complicate things if you have a small watering window and you need to water a large area. I like to water in the evening so the water isn't immediately evaporated in the sun and using this device means watering two areas takes twice as long as iif I ran them both at once from separate taps which also means I can't use the manual override for twice the period. During the summer I make sure I water the flowers manually before 7pm, have zone 2 run from 705 to 805 and then zone 3 run from 805-905pm The rain delay feature is nice although it is a manual process. If rain is forecast, you push the button and it stops watering for 24, 47 or 72 hours which is really handy - however if you wish to cancel the rain delay you rotate the dial to off and then back on to reset the timer again. Note the timer repeat is either hourly or daily and the days are every 2, 3,4 etc. There is no ability to only water on Mon, Wed, Friday. Depending on your HOA this could be a problem if they want even numbered houses to water on certain days of the week. Also if you were watering every 2 days to comply with an even numbered day water restriction and use the rain delay for 24 hours, you could also end up being watering on the wrong day. The good news is that so far it works well, there have been no leaks and my grass and flowers look nice and I don't have to keep running outside to turn the tap on and off or move hoses around the yard. I can just put out multiple hoses and let this take care of the watering. The manual override only being usable on one hose is probably my biggest drawback to this device and it's quite a big drawback. I would probably really give this a 3.5 star but not on Amazon.

Works Great, Simple to configure, See PVC pipe adaptor setup
I originally tried using 3-foot patch hoses to connect to my PVC pipe based sprinkler system that would develop kinks. The setup pictured uses a 3/4 inch PVC pipe system that supports higher and more reliable flow rate. The other benefit is this prevents back-flow, provides a more secure mount, and puts the user interface at an elevated level that is easier to access. Orbit should consider selling a kit to do this. If you are new to working with hoses and PVC, be sure to select PVC hose fittings with the coarser hose thread (not the fine pipe thread found in the PVC pipe section of hardware stores). Below are the types of fittings you will need: QTY 4: Orbit 53360 3/4-In. Slip x FHT Hose to Pipe PVC Fitting QTY 1: Orbit 53361 PVC Hose To Pipe Fitting, 3/4" MHT x 3/4" Slip To keep PVC interconnect easier to install, I used four 18" flexible PVC pipe sections: QTY 4: DURA 3/4 In. X 18 In. Flexible Pvc Coupling I used two of these flexible segments in the section from the faucet to the Orbit timer, and one in each of the connections from the Orbit timer to the PVC pipe system that feeds each sprinkler zone. Let me know if this works for you or see any areas that could be improved.

A great performer if you accept its limitations
For an easy to operate battery operated tap timer, this is clearly a smart performer whilst always remaining easy to program and adjust programming settings. All three outlets can be individually programmed. The instructions only tell you about 80% of what this timer is capable of so every now and then you stumble across another great feature they stupidly failed to tell you about eg. if you press the manual option and arrow 'past' the third station, you get all 3 stations to run manually one after the other at the time length you have for the programmed settings. Also the time length each setting can water is 360 minutes even though the instructions say 240 minutes (but that was the previous 2 outlet model). A stupid software programming specification was that someone decided to default a simple 'manual' once off setting for each station at 10 minutes and yet they had the foresight to run the 'group' manual setting at the user programmed time length assigned to each station. Message to maker "The 'manual' setting should default to the setting that the user set for the programmed setting". This timer does most things you would want for the upcoming weeks but based on weather patterns, you should revisit the weather forecast and adjust the settings each week. You can set the watering patterns for each day or up to each 7 days. When you combine that with a 24, 48 or 72hr initial delay, you can cover most weather patterns. The only pattern it won't cover is if you want it to water each day for the first few days and then not water for the remainder of the week. But if you are home each night, it is a simple matter of turning the dial to 'off' where it ignores all settings until you turn it back to 'auto' where it continues your program. Not possible if you are away for the week. All other scenarios are covered. All the settings are easy to read and easy to adjust. I have had other more sophisticated timers but when you have to bend down to tap level and adjust 'advanced' type timers, it's just too fiddly. This one ticks almost all the boxes. If the 'manual' defaults were more user friendly and the instructions took the time to tell you everything it was capable of doing, I would have given it 5 stars.

Good but not perfect
It works well for the most part. It seems straight forward how to use it but it’s not. Setting the times, intervals, etc. is not necessarily as easy as it seems and needs a little time to learn how to do it. I have the Orbit single hose outlet timer and those are so much easier to deal with.

Mediocre ... Glad I stumbled upon Melnor
I had earlier bought Orbit 3 zone timer when this popped up on Amazon in similar products list. Checked the rating and reviews and decided to order one just to compare. I ended up keeping the Menor 4 zone time and return the Orbit time. Here are the reason that made Melnor the clear winner over Orbit. 1. Compact - Melnor 4 zone is a tad smaller than Orbit 3 zone. 2. Hardware - The look and feel of Melnor is better than Orbit. Also the internal mechanism on Menor is quieter than that of Orbit. 3. Zones - Melnor has 4 zones whereas Orbit has 3 zones. 4. Scheduling - Orbit allows scheduling from every 6 hrs to once every 7 days (or once a week) for each zone. Melnor allows you to either select the schedule same as Orbit, or select days of the week when you want the sprinklers/irrigation on each zone to run. 5. Scheduling Plus - One big winner for Melnor is that within each zone, not only can you select the days it should run, but also set 4 different cycles and durations within each zone for the days you selected. 6. Maximum Rain delay duration - Orbit goes up to 72 hours only. Melnor goes upto 7 days. 7. Finally the Price - Melnor 4 zone timer, in spite of packing in all the above extras is cheaper than Orbit 3 zone timer (or at least it was cheaper when I had ordered them). To sum it up, even if you need just 3 zone timer, I would suggest to go for Melnor and have that extra zone just in case you add something in the future, since there is no other reason you would want to buy the Orbit.

Disappointed
Ordered it because it appeared to have the same functions as the one that has served me for many years. The MAJOR problem is that you can only program to water every 1,2 or 3 days. The previous model could be programmed for each day of the week. We are always on water restrictions during the summer and we are designated the days of the week that we water so the available settings on this timer do not work if I need to water on these specific days. More and more places are now having restrictions with guidelines similar to mine so I’m really surprised that Orbit has not recognized this. Poorly thought out changes. To stay legal I will have to go back to manual watering. Very disappointed!

Only one minute increments
I use this device to water the pot plants on my balcony. I used the Orbit B-Hyve controller previously, but found some plants got more water than others with just the one output (station). I then switched this 3-station unit but was disappointed to find that the minimum time is 1 minute, with 1 minute increments. Most of my pot plants only need 30 seconds of watering, and 1 minute is to much. I would much prefer the unit to go up in seconds to the 2 or 3 minute mark, then increment in one minute intervals. This is a major flaw of the product and a simple fix by the manufacturer. I would give it 5 out of 5 if not for this.

Failed, killed my lawn!
After I bought and installed this, others warned me that this brand has failed them and they no longer use it in their lawn care business. Sure enough, mine failed soon afterwards, within 4 months! It is installed at an overseas property, and I received reports of my grass looking brown. Turns out there is a short-circuit involving the battery compartment area. The unit is not powered unless it you squeeze the battery compartment area with your hands. The return window has closed, so I will now look for another brand.
