My most used tool.
A couple of weeks into wearing the 9540 adjust to fit and they are really just getting broken in. Was a little concerned when ordering as I am a 30" waist(smaller than the manufacturer specs the belt for) but after adjustment I still have a few holes left on the belt fitting great in summer attire. I don't believe you could give these bags less than five stars if your fresh off of box store belts even at the cost. Assuming that they will last a while (everything thus far indicating that they will) I'm proud to put my money towards american quality that helps me make money! Extremely well laid out and comfortable enough that I realize that I now carry a few more tools than I did on my last belt yet get to them all easier. The oxy tool shields are great. At first I though 'oh man, they have to put some plastic in here to protect this material from a knife and chisel...' Now I realize that the material can stand up against an edge and that it is more that occidental leather thought, hey lets protect your investment to the next level and while we're at it we will make a friction fit holster out of it. Kudos. if you have a fat max or similar sized knife or standard chisel you do get a friction fit when placed in the tapered tool shield. There is even a slight dado that the thumb knob of your knife rides down when holstering. The only complaints that I have for this belt so far seem minimal and will probably correct themselves as the bags break in. Pencil holders are a bit snug but leather and will loosen, Back hammer loop bites my back just a bit but is leather and will soften up. I think the split fastener pouch could be stored/ shipped with some packing material in the pouches as it wanted to stay folded up on itself for a while but that is correcting itself with use. All around great bags, it's the tool I use more than any other in the van so why not try to find a quality product. My first set of occidentals but I can already tell if this set didn't work out, I would try another from the company.

why did i wait so long
Been in construction for 40 years and do mostly trim work now, plenty of room for my tools and so comfortable you may forget you have it on, worth every penny.

Wasn't expecting this.
I am a high end trim carpenter ( occasionally do other types of carpentry work as well as light electrical on side jobs. I did some research after blowing through a few " high end" home depot toolbelts in a year, and it led me to oxy belts. This one seemed to look like what I needed, so I bit the bullet and bought it... that was 7 years ago, and this bag is still intact with normal wear. Nothing more than a few scuffed/surface fray spots and leather discoloration. Still very comfortable and doesn't seem to be going anywhere any tine soon . 50 hrs/wk for 7 years.... probably the best buy of my lifetime so far.

Pockets Could Be Bigger
I am a professional trim carpenter and have had the Occidental Leather 9540 Adjustable Finisher along with the Occidental Stronghold Light Suspenders for a couple months now and here's my opinion. This tool pouch system is definitely made to last. It is clearly better made than others. I like the ease of adjustment, and the feel of the loaded pouch. The pockets are a little hard to get into, which might just be that I need to break the pouch in a little more, but they do hold alot. There is a pocket for every tool that I need to carry. I found that the hammer holder on the back just got in the way and was scratching the walls so I just took it off and stored it. There is plenty of storage for my needs as a trim carpenter however I find myself wishing that I would have gotten the Fat Lip pouch system. I believe they would be alot easier to get tools out of. I wish the right pouch had dual pockets like the left pouch does. They are more expensive than other tool pouches available but I'm a firm believer of you get what you pay for and Occidental Leather definitely has made a Quality product here. If you wear a tool pouch to make your money then you cant go wrong here. I am giving this 4 stars only because my personal dislikes not because any design flaws or lack of quality.

Trim carpenters will love this!
Bought this on reading many reviews , and I hit the jackpot! I’m a trim carpenter and this tool belt has all I need to get the job done and some . It’s not overly bulky and the perfect layout with pockets for a trim carpenter. The only draw back for me is carrying it, I was used to my past ones having grab handles. Overall I highly recommend this tool belt . Jeff - Minnesota

Best Belt Ever.
I bought the belt and the harness. The more I wear it. The more places I find that the correct tool has a place. I don't have to look down. It's there. I didn't think I'd like the hammer loop in the back. That is the perfect place. Quality. Craftmanship.

Great bags
These bags are quality, and lightweight. A lot of thought went into the design of these bags. I wish they had a tape pouch and handles, but I clipped a tape pouch to take care of that issue. These are a major improvement on every other bag system I have used in the past.

Proud to buy American Made!
Ok....I know what you're thinking. How can I justify paying three times the price as a set of bags you can get at a big box store? First of all, I'm tired of buying foreign made junk. Over the years it's been a constant process of replacing parts of bags as they wear out. Hammer holders, belts, suspenders, bags. The thing is, these parts usually give out at the worse times. I can honestly say, this will be my last set of bags. Everything is extremely well made. You need to wear it for a week to get all the adjustments. Once you have it set up, it's perfect. You need to get the harness to carry the load on your shoulders, not your hips. The only way we're going to turn this economy and country around is by buying Made In The USA whenever given the choice. My next purchase will be an American Giant hoodie. Made In The USA!!!

Framer. Bought it. Love it.
First of all bear in mind that this is a finishers pouch. It’s a little smaller than the larger framers one. Saying that, I am a framer and I find that it works great for me. It doesn’t have a tape holder so I’m using one of the pockets until I buy the occidental clip on one. I will say that it is big enough for me and man is it COMFORTABLE. This is by far the best pouch I have ever used. I have no back pain whatsoever using this. It is amazing. The BEST pouch I’ve ever owned by FAR! Love the extra hammer holder at the front, it’s positioned so well. 5 STARS EASY.

I love this belt
I love this belt! I'ts my second one I liked it so much the first time. I work outside year round and it does not saturate with water in the winter. It's light but very durable and stands up to the abuse of full time exterior contracting. The last one made it 6 years and I ended up giving it to one of my employees. I probably could of gotten another couple of years out of it myself. Best belt I've owned over my twenty year career.

Great for finishing and deck building. A bit boxy
Great if a bit boxy. Only thing I don’t like is the loo but man are they useful and sturdy.

Way to go Occidental
Awsome belt just what I wanted!! Its gunna need a little breaking in though. It's also bigger than expected, which is a good thing. Nothing worse that ordering a toolbelt online that's smaller than expected.

Great tool belt.
Bought this rather than the framing bag set and think it's perfect for deck framing and reno work. Very comfortable after a couple of weeks. Light and lots of tool storage.
